Shiteforbrains sorry your feeling ill to.

Things with dp are not ok right now it's one of worries about the weekend being stuck in a car with my dp and dm as if I say one thing they don't like I'll get my head bitten off. I'm trying not to concentrate on them right now and only the dc.

I'm not pureeing wineandchoccy, just mashing until it's neat then I have hand whizzer. Because of the amount they want him to have quickly blw just isn't possible plus he's not massively reliable at getting things to his mouth. Also blw isn't supposed to start until they can sit unaided which he can't yet so I'm giving it a little longer before I do finger foods. I think it depends a lot on your diet too, I tend to cook enough for us and so will need to modify to do enough to purée for a couple of meals. Plus we have the slow cooker sachets which have too much salt for ds3 so he can't have those. Once he's a bit bigger will aim for more cold finger foods for lunch and a hot meal in the evening which makes life easier. Once you start you should get a feel for what suits you and dd. Pure blw will lead to a baby that doesn't eat a lot for quite a while ime as they are not able to get too much in themselves for a while once you start. I think purées are fine when you're home but are a bit of a pain going out unless your baby is happy to eat them cold and it's something that doesn't matter if it's not refrigerated before they eat it.

How lovely your friends are including dd penguinposer

Night time is always tough than any other time monkeybabiess111, I hope you find something that helps her settle reliably soon.

PenguinPoser · 24/09/2015 09:58

Wineandchoccy sorry you're full of cold I hope you're better soon! It's a nice day here not sure what it's like where you are but you could maybe get out for a walk? I'm hoping to do that later if the weather stays ok.

In terms of weaning I'm essentially doing traditional weaning but with extra finger foods - so mainly giving roughly mashed stuff (not purée - more lumpy) and she also has things like bread, toast, crumpets and soft lumps of fruit/veg. It seems to be going ok so far. She loves porridge with mashed fruit mixed in, and avocado on toast. I'm not finding it more work it's quite easy so far. I have a few bags of things like tomato puffs etc as well.

monkeybabies sorry you're having such a rough time. The nights are so long if you're up. I tried last night DH giving a bottle of ebm at bedtime and it helped dd sleep longer so I wonder if you might try something like that?

Going out for a meal this evening for my mums birthday so I'm looking forward to that.

Wineandchoccy · 24/09/2015 16:25

Thanks for all the weaning info I'm excited to start in a couple of weeks.

We have been for a walk and to the new baby church which was a lovely 1/2 hour of singing and stories just so I forget about my sore throat I'm now writing thank you cards for dds christening presents whilst dd plays on the floor. Only 1 hour before DH is home and I can hand dd over and have a rest on the sofa Smile

Monkeybabiess111 · 24/09/2015 17:43

Wine I hope you get some rest.

Penguin I will try that tonight.

Monkeybabiess111 · 24/09/2015 23:21

Ebm has resulted in dd screaming for the last 3 hours, I'm not sure if it was off, the constant crying on and off is really getting to me I can't handle another night like this.
My head pounding I feel sick, I keep walking into things, falling over, can't concentrate with everything on my head going round and round and my eyes are stinging I also can't eat it just hurts to try.
Sorry for my vent I'm really fed up with it all.

I hope everyone else has a better night.

You do have to get on with it Monkeybabiess111 because you dp has made it that way. You will get to a stage where you CANT get on with it and that's not in anyone's interests. Hope the medication helps and that you manage some more sleep soon.

Hope you had a lovely meal PenguinPoser.

Hope you're feeling better wineandchoccy.

Today is the first week of having Friday school hours off. I'm looking forward to the time with my boy but I have so much to catch up with will be doing boring things while he naps this morning.

cinnamongreyhound · 25/09/2015 07:26

We made the journey, tomorrow we complete the walk then spend the day at Drayton manor ds has been hyper all day he hasn't a clue where we are or what we are doing but he's a big Thomas fan I just hope he reacts well it's easing my anxiety knowing there are other family's with children with asd in our hotel already and it's there first time going to.
We travel back tomorrow night to so won't get home until midnight.
Sorry about last night I vent to much I'm just trying to remember it has to get better.
I hope you all had a good day.

Cinnamon that's great about the weight gain.

Hope you have a good trip shiteforbrains. That's the good thing about car journeys you can pile everything in! Hope ds is settled in the car for you.

Monkeybabies pleased you got there safely. Enjoy the wall tomorrow and all the Thomas activities I hope ds has a lovely day! It must be reassuring to know it's an asd friendly event and there are other families there in the same boat.

Cinnamon hope you had a productive day and enjoyed some time with ds3.

I'm sitting up with a very snotty baby who can't breathe through her nose properly. It's been about 10 days now so I really hope it's better soon poor little mite. The room smells like a menthol explosion and we've used the saline spray so I hope she can get back off to sleep.

Hope she's better soon PenguinPoser! Poorly babies are tough for you and them Sad

I'm sure the walk and Thomas land will be fab Monkeybabiess111. We went when ds1 was 3 he loved it! And don't apologise for venting!

Hope your trip goes well shiteforbrains

Wineandchoccy · 26/09/2015 09:04

I feel almost human again Ive still got an annoying cough but I feel loads better than I did a few days ago and thankfully dd doesn't seem to have caught it.

We had our 1st night out last night and it was the 1st time we had left dd. my parents came and babysit at our house and she was fine it was nice to go out just the 2 of us and how strange to just have a small handbag and no muslin on my shoulder Grin

Enjoy Drayton manor monkeybabies111 I hope you all have a lovely day you deserve it after a rough time.

shiteforbrains I hope you have a good trip and manage to squeeze everything in, we looked like we were moving out when we went on holiday!

I hope your dd is better soon penguinposer

Well done on the weight gain cinnamongreyhound I hope you had a lovely day with just the 2 of you.

We are going to ikea today to buy dd a high chair.

Monkeybabiess111 · 26/09/2015 23:32

Penguin I hope your dad feels better.

Shiteforbrains I hope you have a good trip
Wine I'm glad your feeling better and had a good night, buy the high chair is what made me realise did was getting to big to fast.

We're home only just but did is hungry, I can't believe how how happy she and ds were the whole time and she only had 1 wake up last night.
Ds's face made it worth it I was honestly dreading it and even the morning I was thinking I could curl up in the hotel and let them go but it's something that we've never done and I'm glad I went now.
Dp is still doing me head in he's came in dumped everything and turned on the PS4 so I will have to go sort that out once/if dd settles.
Tomorrow we are doing nothing unless the kids want to nap then I'm all for that I hope you all have a good day tomorrow.
