Our babies are nearly half a year! Where on earth has the time gone?

She's really playing up to the camera this morning, look at this face!

Ah we saw room on the broom last year. Was good fun. I do like a theatre trip. Glad you at least enjoyed the show.

poor DS was very tired so is having a nice nap upstairs. Unfortunately I have to wake him in 10 mins to do the school run Angry

bigfam I can't see your pics as am on mobile site but I'll look on laptop later.

LittlePink · 04/06/2015 22:34

I don't know what my families obsession is with Ds having water but dm asked if I'd given him water again. I said no. She asked why not and I said coz he doesn't need it. He gets what he needs from my bm. She said well yes but he could do with a little bit of water inbetween couldn't he. No! If he's thirsty he'll tell me and have a feed. For goodness sake! Angry

How's everyone doing? We've had a good day. Naps are good at the moment but I'm still up twice at night with him. Thinking of starting the baby rice at the weekend and taking it very slowly and see how he manages with it.

Worriedaboutwee · 04/06/2015 22:56

That must be very frustrating littlepink, I'd be tempted to ask them to show you their evidence that says he needs water when bfed every time but I'm a sarcastic bitch

Struggling a bit at the min to be honest. The PND is definitely starting to rear its ugly head. Ds is doing ok on the omeprozole and starting to take more milk but he's so unsettled at night. He used to sleep 9-10 hours straight now he's up every 3-4 hours for a feed (which is fine as he's doing little and often with the reflux) but takes up to 90 mins to settle and will only sleep with me.

After a night of scary co sleeping we've hacked his cot apart to make it a bedside cot which basically involves me half sleeping in it with him to get him to sleep. He won't self settle anymore. He will only nap on me in the day. I went 48 without a shower until today cos he just wants me constantly. Today he's had 2 15 min naps which isn't like him at all. I just sat and sobbed earlier cos I don't think I'm coping very well at the min.

It's my birthday tomorrow and I'm not even bothered. DH is at work, ds1 at school so will just be another day of fighting to get him to sleep and trying to get a shower!

worried sending you Flowers and special birthday Cake happy birthday!
How old is your lo? My dd is 21 weeks and has massively regressed in the sleep department. I was almost in tears yesterday
She doesn't want a feed
Is over tired but just screams when I pick her up and when I leave her to it... Aaagghh I don't know what to do?!!
Maybe it's a phase our little ones are going through ?
You're not alone. Make sure you have that shower, do your hair and feel special on your birthday. Easier said than done.

little With the weather warming up my delightful relatives are constantly telling me to give dd water
I swear if I left dd with them they would give it to her without telling me!
Dreading weaning and the constant try this try that. Are you really going to wait till 6 months? Our kids started at 4months.
Go away!!!!

bigfam · 05/06/2015 09:02

You should of thrown a glass of water in her face and said 'sorry, you looked like you needed a bit of water in between' Smile
Sounds tough worried, I'm sorry if you've said so before, but have you seen your Dr or anything? Im not sure how effective anti depressants are or if you've ever taken them?
2 days ago when picking up dd1 and ds1, dd2 was so naughty that I ended up struggling to hold back tears until we'd got home, the second I walked through the door, I was a mess. Think the only reason I can tolerate so much from dd2 is because the baby is so good, she's sleeping really well at night. She's still going through the phase where absolutely no one can hold her apart from me though. Hope you feel better soon though worried, and ask for the help if you need it. X

bigfam · 05/06/2015 09:04

And definitely give yourself some me time today. Happy birthday, hope you can enjoy it.Cake

Dec1314mummy · 05/06/2015 09:10

Sorry you're feeling so rubbish worried. Happy birthday. I have pnd too. I did with Ds but never admitted it. I called the hv on Tuesday as I was so concerned about Dd's lip tie. I ended up spilling it all out and she did the questionnaire thing with me which I scored really high on! Going to the gp soon. Please do talk to someone and don't suffer in silence.
Dd's sleep has gone to pot too. She was up every 90 mins last night and for the 3 night previously. I hope it is Just a phase because I can't keep doing this. It's not helping at all. She also won't nap in the day but that's nothing new. She won't take solids either, going to try again in a couple of weeks.

Hope you're feeling better soon too Dec, I can't imagine how hard it must be for you, and you worried.
Dd1 has been a very brave girl today, she had to have a tooth removed towards the back as it had cracked, apparently she didn't even flinch when her gums were attacked injected with anaesthetic. She can take over sky today on the sofa with lots of cuddles.

September60b · 05/06/2015 13:55

Flowers to worried and to dec. I have days where I find everything really overwhelming but I can't imagine what you are going through. I hope you both get the support you deserve. I'm sure I've mentioned every time I post a few times that dd's sleep has completely gone to pot and she hates being put down at the moment. It makes doing the simplest of things like washing up, making lunch etc so stressful. I just tend to take her out lots now as being outside tends to entertain her!

Wow it's ice cream weather today isn't it!

Dec1314mummy · 05/06/2015 17:04

It's been such a gorgeous day. Thanks for all of the support, I wasn't going to post anything but just wanted others to know try aren't the only ones! Mine is more based on circumstances I think though and just stupid hormones playing tricks on me! I'm just too much of a control freak!
It's been such a beautiful day here too. A friend came over with her 3 week old! So squishy!

LittlePink · 05/06/2015 19:21

Sorry to hear of the pnd problems. I definitely have days of feeling totally overwhelmed and feelings of hopelessness but it's generally when dd is playing up and Ds is crying lots or we've had a particularly bad run of sleep. My feelings are more of anxiety than depression and sometimes I feel it building to an uncomfortable level but I can kind of rationalise things and take a step away from the feelings when they get too much. I acknowledge what's getting to me, accept the feelings, try to make them clear in my mind and try to rationalise what's bothering me. Sleep deprivation does crazy things to you on top of hormones too. We all have to remember what a great job we're doing! Dec ive read in the past the problems you have with all the reflux and allergies etc and I'm not surprised you find it hard. It sounds like you're doing really well coping with two with the similar issues. Flowers

Pesto11 · 07/06/2015 11:01

Hope everyone is enjoying some sunny weather. Put sun cream on dd as we went out for the day yesterday
Wary of her hands cz she's constantly got her fingers in her mouth!
Normally loves water but just stared at the water park area and the kids rather than enjoy going into it!

bigfam · 07/06/2015 12:26

I can remember a big disaster with dd1 and sun cream, I was so worried about the her being burnt so I put it on her face and she ended up rubbing it into her eyes, she was a huge red splotchy mess!
I didn't enjoy it yesterday, I spent most of the day under a duvet with a huge hangover, I was freezing and felt rather sorry for myself. The baby was an angel (thank god) I'm never drinking again!!! Treated her to some trifle today, everytime I told her she'd had enough she'd scream at me. She's lost that tongue thrust thing where most of the food ends up on her clothes so she could be ready to wean, I'll ask the Dr's next week. Hope everyones ok, along with their lo's x

September60b · 07/06/2015 19:01

I'm always a bit worried about the suncream in dd's eyes and mouth too. I put factor 50 on her face, had her in a hat in the shade and im pretty sure she's still managed to catch the sun as her cheeks are a little red. I feel terrible!

bigfam · 07/06/2015 20:17

My kids have got a really lovely skin tone and only need to be in the sun for five minutes and they turn brown. Unfortunately though when patsy was a baby it resulted in someone asking me if I'd intentionally sat my baby out in the sun, I was very Angry
It has been nice today, but I've been sat inside with the baby watching the older 3 running around.
Here's dd1 with her Baby sister, I love it!

bigfam · 08/06/2015 13:43

I took the plunge today and bought a little tommee blender, it's got really good reviews and only £20, after she made me feel completely guilty eating my roast yesterday so I mushed up cauliflower cheese and gravy and she was growling every time her mouth was empty, I know she's supposedly too young to wean, but I know her and she's definitely ready.
Also bought a big ready up swimming pool for the others but it's broken so have to return it tomorrow but there's no way I'm getting it back in THAT box Shock Hope everyone's ok x

September60b · 08/06/2015 17:32

Wow bigfam, sounds as though she's taken to weaning really quickly! Dd is just five months so we will be starting soon enough. Not sure if I'm excited of scared at the moment! She does watch me intently when I eat however she also watches me put on my make up but I won't be allowing that for a long time yet Wink

Did our first baby class today and she absolutely loved the singing and interaction with other babies. She was the youngest there and by the end of it she was really tired and ready for a nap.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine while it lasts Smile

Dec1314mummy · 08/06/2015 18:52

Sorry I haven't posted for a few days, it's been rather busy. Hope you're doing ok worried.
big that's great that she's taking solids so well. Don't worry about the 'right' time. In my book there is no such thing. All babies will do things at theory own pace. Ds used to scoff down food. Dd looks at me in disgust! She's huge though for her age so no worries on that front!
Dd pushed herself in her walker today. She's got stupidly strong legs but still hasn't mastered rolling yet. When she has in sure she'll sleep better! (Well hopefully anyway).
sept I'm glad you enjoyed your first baby class. It's good when you find a good one that works for you.

Quade is 5 months today! Time is going too fast.
Had him weighed and he's 19lb 6oz, he's lovely and chubby but I'm struggling to get clothes to fit over his chunky thighs lol.
He's starting to watch us eat more but still has the tongue thrust reflex and isn't sitting yet so will be a few more weeks before we wean I think.

September60b · 09/06/2015 09:37

Love those little pictures you do with Quade Alyx! He's such a cutie.

Yes bigfam I agree with Dec re the weaning. You know your little one best and it sounds like she is ready! What ages did your others start on solids?

I can't believe how much dd has changed in the last couple of weeks. Their little personalities are really starting to show now aren't they!

Pesto11 · 09/06/2015 13:00

Trying to dig out the steamer from the back of the cupboard and testing it on the cooker
Debating whether to buy a cheap electric one instead.

Going to try and wait until she's exactly 6 months and hoping she takes to it well! Interesting times ahead...

bigfam · 09/06/2015 13:29

Excuse the bum nakedness, but I left her with her nappy off and went into the kitchen to wash up and came back to this!!!
