I pray it is a phase. Nothing identifiable has really changed. But yaaaawwwwn in the meantime. Work days are tiring enough without this extra challenge!

Period grump? Well spotted. Yep, ttc in a 'stress free' way. Last time we were v v lucky. It happened straight away. mostly because we happened to be on holiday at the right point in the month This time we are tired and have an early rising toddler. He is the ultimate contraceptive ;)

HungryHorace · 20/09/2015 21:12

I can relate to your tiredness. And the contraceptive effects of toddlers! (Not that I'm TTC...we don't have a sex life, so it's a good job we aren't!)

Hi all hope life is treating you well. Its all getting a bit brrrr up here which is making me think its time to buy a winter coat for the monster. Anyone seen some nice quality waterproof ones?

BeanCalledPickle · 24/09/2015 21:08

Not so much everything you are looking for in one go but I highly recommend the Jojo macs and trousers which are waterproof and fold away into themselves. Great to have in your changing bag. I have a permanent 15pc discount for Jojo online only which I'm happy to share!

Biscuitswithtea · 25/09/2015 13:11

Weatherproof thing is on my radar too! I've heard good things about the Jojo waterproofs...they do dungarees and all-in-one things don't they? Just need to work out what size DS would be....

AlohaMama · 25/09/2015 16:07

The jojo ones are lovely, really nice fabric that doesn't feel plasticy. Saying that I got this years from mountain warehouse in their sale, fleece lined so nice and snuggly all in one. Winter coast I tend to buy when I see on sale in the summer, so we have m&s one which is lovely and warm and was half price. M&s coast are nice quality but expensive. Last year dd had a GREAT ski style jacket which was a hand me down but was from h&m so I would definitely look there. Got all the kids salopettes last year off eBay. A lot of people rate muddy puddles for wAterproof but I bought one and returned it, the material wasn't so nice and they were ridiculously long for the age.

SunnyL · 25/09/2015 17:29

Just been to a friends house who had lovely tresspass jackets for her boys. Might investigate as I think Lil would be tickled to have the same coat as her daddy

HungryHorace · 25/09/2015 20:49

We've got the Mountain Warehouse all-in-ones too, Aloha. They're bloody lovely. :-)

Both kids have coats from Next. DS also has a MW proper waterproof jacket too. I always get them a few coats!

I know you've been on the edge of youe seats about my coat dilemma for Lil so just to update you I got lovely purple floral number from M&S today. Its waterproof amd thermal so should suit dog walks and going to and from nursery.

She loves it so much she's wearing it now. And nothing else Confused

Raeside · 29/09/2015 11:20

OMG Sunny so relieved! Phew. wipes brow

J doesn't have a winter jacket, as such. He's grown out of last year's version and I've not sourced another yet as he has lots of jumpers and a short rain jacket and a big raincoat from JoJo Mama that seems to do for now. He's got a beanie and scarf which he will not wear....

I'll get looking for something in a month or so, when it gets properly cold, and with our trip to Sweden in mind. No idea at all what will suit. None. Zip. Zero. Zilch.

SunnyL · 29/09/2015 19:18

Glad I'm keeping you entertained Rae Grin

Here's a good one. Emailed a colleague who I work closely with but is working remotely this week to say 'You might have already guessed but I'm pregnant'.

She wrote back saying it had crossed her mind but she didn't want to mention I'd put on a few pounds.

She's 25 stone on a good day but is calling me fat?! Hmm

Biscuitswithtea · 29/09/2015 19:53

Grin that's hilarious Sunny!!

Hiding pregnancy from my work, should it happen, is going to be tricky. Last time I couldn't do up my trousers before 12wks other than by the hair bobble through the button hole trick , and apparently you show earlier with subsequent pregnancies. My team at work are nosey sods and frequently ask me when I'm having another. This might start to do my head in if we are trying for long (3m so far)

BeanCalledPickle · 30/09/2015 20:45

I took the baby into work and my colleague said that I once again looked liked Sarah and not someone who had eaten Sarah:) I'm at my pre Juno weight. Pre Polly weight is a long way away!

This baby has been way harder than the first. Really struggled with sleep and basically everything baby related. Desperate to stop breastfeeding, she won't let me. I think the suckiest thing about this one is she stops me enjoying the big one who is pretty good fun these days.

Moan over!

SunnyL · 01/10/2015 18:47

Sorry its been so tough for you Bean. Are taking the full year off or going back earlier?

Had a comedy moment in the car today when I declared I wanted chocolate only for a voice in the back to pipe up and say 'No mummy must sit on potty first'.

Hadn't realised my bribery was meant to affect my toilet habits too Blush

PeekABooPinky101 · 01/10/2015 20:30

Woooooohhhhhhoooooo the app is back!!! Grin

Which means now lazy old me is caught up and can happily post and bore you all again Wink

So, winter coats here from Tu (hand me down and will be perfect for nursery) we have a lovely waterproof one that's long and bright with butterflies on and is a posh make for us and I can't remember the name - this will not go near nursery! And the other day when I popped into lidil for a bit of shopping they had fleece lined waterproof coats and trouser dungarees, £12 the lot! Ideal for anything wet, muddy and outdoorsy and I don't have to worry. We also have a few random odd things, but I don't count them as coat coats, more keep warmers when it's not really anything weather. (Just me with those and that weather then?!)

Dd is now at nursery 5 afternoons a week, I miss nap time, I know I not get the actual child free time, but she is so over tired when she comes home it can be very hard work. Her nursery worker asked me yesterday if she's talkative at home.... Uh yes, why? Apparently not a peep out of her at nursery Hmm although today apparently she spent the afternoon making monkey noises - I almost reminded them to be careful what they wished for!!

Question for a friend, her little girl is about 6 months older than our little older/middle ones. And had been potty trained since August, doing great with wee's but not with poos. She just won't poo on the potty/toilet and gets really stressed/wound up over it. She'll hold for days now when she didn't use to. She'll get to the point where she asks for a nappy on to just do a poo. Anyone any ideas? Thought I'd ask to see if if there's anything to suggest to her, she's posted on fb about it tonight to I'm guessing it's starting to get to her.

BeanCalledPickle · 01/10/2015 20:31

Hell no, back after Christmas this time, so 8.5 months old. DH is paid in full for three months so that takes us to Easter. Nursery at eleven months whereas Polly was a year so much the same.

What are you going to do?

Sunbeam18 · 03/10/2015 22:10

Oh joy, there is an app again! I've missed you all! Smile

PeekABooPinky101 · 04/10/2015 12:28

Ah sunbeam glad I'm not the only one grateful for the app!! I can now also use it on my phone again after going back to Apple. It's like a whole new world!!

Biscuitswithtea · 04/10/2015 12:59

The android app is still goosed isn't it?

Trying to buy pants for ds but can't find any small enough Angry 1.5-2 is the best I've found (m&s and tesco) but they are too big. He's not that tiny!!

HungryHorace · 04/10/2015 19:47

I'm sure I saw smaller in Asda, Biscuits.

OP posts:
PeekABooPinky101 · 05/10/2015 16:45

No idea on pants! I know I brought big girl pants for dd and even the 1.5-2 seem to be massive! Vests however all seem short even in 2-3 years. my washing skills aren't that bad I shrunk them all

I miss her not having afternoon naps. She's so tired when she's gets home from nursery everything is a battle but I have to keep her busy or she'll fall asleep too early. And then she sleeps rubbish because she's tired. How does that make sense?! Stupid toddler logic.

I do love how now she joins in on songs and sings the bits she knows. And she understands so much. So I guess it kinda balances out!

Sunbeam18 · 05/10/2015 19:58

Have you ditched the nap, Pink? We are still going with ours - generally an hour or so. Any longer and nights are hell!

PeekABooPinky101 · 05/10/2015 20:04

Nursery could only get her in afternoons. No naps have been forced upon me Confused was doing ok as was just three afternoons but then they got space for the other two. She soooo still needs them evenings are hell!

She won't sleep before nursery no matter what I try so kinda have no option. Altho I did still put her down for naps at the weekend and she slept wonderfully at night then too. Kinda dreading the week now and lack of sleep.

My personal opinion right now, naps rule and keep them going as long as you can. Wink

AlohaMama · 05/10/2015 21:11

I got some of the tesco 1.5-2y pants for DD today and they fitted ok, and I'd say she is average or slightly under.

Sadly we've given up on naps. DD went fro having 1.5-2 h naps consistently every day to nothing over night. She seemd tired but recently if I ever have managed to get her to nap (by driving somewhere after lunch) then if she naps for an hour or less, she end up taking severl hours to get to sleep. The other day she napped for 45 mins then didnt' go to sleep till 8.45 Shock which considering her normal sleep time is about 6.30pm... So I've had to accept teh reality, which is no naps. In desperate times we sit on the sofa and watch Twirlywoos together with my eyes closed

Sunbeam18 · 05/10/2015 21:31

I consider the nap to be a sanity break so I'll really miss them! That's my reading time.
We start bedtime at 7pm these days, asleep by 7.40. We usually get till 7 am. I appreciate it every day after those 5.30am starts we had for a while. Jeez.
