Sticks fingers in ears and shouts 'I'm not listening!'.

End of march if the calander thingy on the NHS website is to be believed. It was pretty unreliable last time though.

Does it say much about me that I decided i was too cheap to buy the Clear blue test that tells you how many weeks you are? I bought the 99p for 2 tests instead Wink

HungryHorace · 17/07/2015 13:16

Wooooo!

Photo of stick please!! ;-)

Congratulations!

Congratulations!!! So exciting. I never bought those fancy sticks either - tbh had never even heard of them till people on another antenatal thread kept stressing about the stick saying a different number of weeks to what they thought they should have been - seemed like more stress than it was worth!

BeanCalledPickle · 17/07/2015 15:43

I did just to see if it would jump from 1-2 to 2-3. Silly really! But then my non fancy ones were fifty for a fiver on Amazon and arguably better at detecting the weather as opposed to actual pregnancy

SunnyL · 17/07/2015 15:59

Fecking hell - 50?? That's a lot of pee.

Sorry no photo of stick but I did fish it out of the bin 3 5 times just to check it was real.

Joined the relevant antenatal group - bugger me did we talk that much inane nonsense in the first few weeks? Such a frenzy of worry. I may remain a spectator a bit longer.

Sunbeam18 · 17/07/2015 16:04

The bin, Sunny? I still have my positive stick from first time around, sentimental fool that I amGrin

HungryHorace · 17/07/2015 16:19

I binned my squinter of a cheapy. I have my FRERs from both times though! :-)

Fish it out of the bin again and take a photo!

Congrats Sunny!!

cough

This happened today.

Raeside · 17/07/2015 16:52

Congrats Sunny!!

cough

The same thing happened to me today.

BeanCalledPickle · 17/07/2015 16:57

Oh my goodness!!! That's amazing! Two of you!!

And yes the ante natal threads are not as helpful second time round. There is much over stressing about everything. Cuphat and I often remarked on this as we were thread buddies here and in May 2015.

Hang out here instead. HH, cup, aloha and I are happy to tell you everything is normal, pregnancy is shit, new born babies challenging, especially coupled with a toddler and that it's worth it in the end.

But only just. Grin

Raeside · 17/07/2015 16:58

I was supposed to go out on the piss tonight. I am robbed.

BeanCalledPickle · 17/07/2015 17:02

Do you still want to come round on Monday? Are you ready for an insight into the reality?!?

Raeside · 17/07/2015 17:11

Oh I've some mates with two, inc one who has a 2.5yr and a six week old. I've been inducted! You must email me your details!

Raeside · 17/07/2015 17:14

The dog is going to kill me in my sleep. She will be so disappointed.

BeanCalledPickle · 17/07/2015 17:30

What I love about this group is that I am honestly as excited and pleased for the two of you as I am for people in real life.

I think it's ace that we are coming up to three years of thread chat and we are still going strong!

Raeside · 17/07/2015 17:31

Sunny - I started a thread for 2nd and subsequent babies due in first quarter of next year as pretty sure I can't cope with the standard group!!

HungryHorace · 17/07/2015 17:50

Woo...bloody hell!

Congratulations. :-)

And I concur with Bean!

Woohoo! Congratulations ladies. How exciting.

SunnyL · 17/07/2015 18:56

Ha thought I'd spotted you Raeside but didn't want to out you. Will mosey on over to your less stressy thread.

My dog will also be disappointed in us. She won't be angry - just disappointed.

I'm also at a v posh wedding tomorrow which I suspect will have a free bar. DH thinks I'm a knob for not waiting to take the test. Smile

Raeside · 17/07/2015 19:11

I totally wish I'd waited till Monday. Really really want a drink. Prenatal vitamins just don't cut it.

BeanCalledPickle · 17/07/2015 19:36

You realise that as second timers it's ok to have a glass or two and eat some runny egg and soft cheese without killing yourself with analysis? I think I would probably pretend I hadn't done the test till Monday:)

Raeside · 17/07/2015 19:39

Oh yes! There's no 'pure pregnancy' going on here, nor was there last time! I just planned to get pissed tonigh, so I am grieving that rare opportunity. And when I say I want a drink, I mean bourbon. Prob best avoided till after 12 weeks. Hmm

BeanCalledPickle · 17/07/2015 20:25

I really do wonder why the second timers in our group put up with us. All that I have a stitch in my side should I go to A and E / I sat down heavily on the sofa should I call triage / I ate some Brie will I die chit chat is inane and boring. But I guess we knew no better. My approach to Juno is are you fed changed and not screaming? Brilliant. I will now ignore you in favour of dealing with your sister who is smearing ketchup on the wall.

Sunbeam18 · 17/07/2015 20:32

Awesome sauce! Two in one day! Congrats!!

HungryHorace · 17/07/2015 20:41

Cough I still drank at my wedding despite knowing I was pregnant. But I was only 3+6 and I shouldn't have tested til the Monday after rather than the Thursday before. So I decided a few drinks over a day would be fine. Bad first time mummy!
