Before 4 weeks totally does not count. And it was your wedding!

AlohaMama · 17/07/2015 21:09

bean I'm on the next antenatal thread, and yes there is a LOT of stressing and worrying. And there is also all the sadness of the dropouts Sad but overall I find it quite handy to dip into as it's amazing what you forget from one pregnancy to the next. Also, I can impart my vast wisdom of being on pregnancy 3 Wink

Mrs81 · 17/07/2015 21:10

Goodness! Stick peeing a go-go! Congratulations Raeside Grin

HungryHorace · 17/07/2015 21:48

That was my theory, Bean. :-)

And I was wasted the day before my BFP too (I'd done a negative test that day so went for it!).

BeanCalledPickle · 17/07/2015 22:05

Because I was using the rubbish tests they only started to show about five weeks in!

HungryHorace · 17/07/2015 22:07

I didn't have any cheapies left with DD, so my first test was a FRER.

With DS I had a total bloody squinter cheapy test (fished out of the bin a few hours after I did the test as I didn't believe its BFN, rightly!). I was 3+4 with him too. I then confirmed it with a FRER.

Oh wow, congrats Sunny and Raeside!

SunnyL · 17/07/2015 23:17

With Lil I went to Greece for a week before doing the test and was slaughtered every night on cheap vino on beer.

God knows how smart she would have been if I'd stuck to one or two - probably too smart and would have been bullied at school for being clever. So really her Mummy being a lush was a good thing yes?

HungryHorace · 18/07/2015 06:59

It doesn't cross over until the placenta takes over, AFAIK, so week 7-8?

For those of you who were interested, we'd throughly recommend Peppa Pig World. It's perfect for two year olds. We had a fantastic time and DD absolutely loved it: the rides, meeting the characters and especially the Muddy Puddles section! We'd been warned about it so went prepared with a towel, wellies and change of clothes (we also took a swimsuit but DD had great fun getting soaked in her sundress and wellies!). Queues were ok as we made it just before the start of the school holidays in most places. We'll be going again, definitely!

SunnyL · 18/07/2015 08:27

Good tip - big question is do they play that infernal music over and over again?

cuphat · 18/07/2015 09:07

Yes, that's the downside! I think there were three tunes in a loop! I stopped noticing it after a while, however, when we left it was still playing in my head!

BeanCalledPickle · 18/07/2015 09:34

Where did you stay? I thought we might go but not while she still needs a nap to get through the day. Or are a few hours enough?

cuphat · 18/07/2015 23:08

We did a full day. It doesn't open till 10am. By the time we went on all the rides, did the muddy puddles thing, lunch and meeting the characters etc, it was almost 4pm. DD naps every day at home but can get through the day without a nap if we're out. As soon as she was put in her car seat she fell asleep! Normally we have to drive for at least a minute or so! We might do the two day pass next time (second day free if you book a hotel through them).

We just stayed in the nearby Holiday Inn Express. Only because it was free (DH sometimes stays with them when he's away for work so has a loyalty card). Basic but we only needed a room and it had everything we needed. There were horses at the front which pleased DD. We spent a few hundred in total but it was worth it to see DD so happy.

BeanCalledPickle · 19/07/2015 12:17

I have bought a gro clock. Has anyone else got one and had success with it? I suspect she may need to be a little older but worth a shot

HungryHorace · 19/07/2015 13:29

We have one. DD detested it, so it's now back in its box ready for DS!

OP posts:
Raeside · 19/07/2015 13:34

Yep we got one last week and J bloody loves it!

Sunbeam18 · 19/07/2015 13:42

We've got one - K loves pointing out the sun and the stars, but has no problem with wanting to get up when the stars are still showing! He calls it 'the cock'...

BeanCalledPickle · 19/07/2015 15:32

How did she express her frustration? Dirty protest? Violence?

HungryHorace · 19/07/2015 15:44

Pointing at it and crying! And refusing to sleep with it facing the bed. It went badly!

BeanCalledPickle · 19/07/2015 17:00

They are such little drama queens. Polly won't go in the garden because there was an ant out there?!?

HungryHorace · 19/07/2015 17:22

DD just declares 'ant' either pointing at or squashing the poor buggers!

But she's a full on drama queen about the slightest thing. It is a bit wearing!

Sunbeam18 · 19/07/2015 17:25

Major strop here this morning over putting on his swim nappy...

HungryHorace · 19/07/2015 20:28

Has anyone else got a tickle me Peppa Pig? DD was given one today as a late birthday present and loves it.

Peppa is slowly but surely infiltrating our house (still haven't watched it yet though!).

OP posts:
BeanCalledPickle · 19/07/2015 21:25

I have made peace with Peppa. I think the stories are decent, with helpful episodes dealing with the opticians, dentist, going on a plane, having a baby sister etc. Both mummy and daddy pig work, so are decent role models. She's very polite. And quite confident and self assured.

The music makes me want to poke my eyes out though.
