Blush we're mean it seems. One pair of properly fitted shoes per size. Wellies. The End.

But should summer ever come to Scotland then maybe there will be sandals too...!

cuphat · 26/06/2015 16:45

Oh I forgot that we recently bought sandals for DD. But not expensive ones. And she prefers to wear her shoes! Getting trainers had never occurred to me before actually.

HungryHorace · 26/06/2015 18:39

DD loves her Clarks Doodles sandals...it's either that or wellies most of the time!

DS has one pair of shoes and that's it, but he's not quite walking yet.

Mrs, didn't realise you were in Scotland too! Where are you? I'm just outside Edinburgh in South Queensferry

Mrs81 · 26/06/2015 19:16

Near Edinburgh too as it happens...but in the opposite direction Smile Did we never figure all that out many moons ago? Maybe not. Oops.

Sunbeam18 · 26/06/2015 20:30

Probably, my sleep deprived brain probably didn't retain it!

BeanCalledPickle · 26/06/2015 20:33

Trainers are good for all the situations that you don't want good shoes destroyed. So play grounds, the garden etc. Saying that her 'good' shoes will rarely get worn now, as leather shoes don't exactly go with summer shorts!

HungryHorace · 26/06/2015 20:33

Neither did mine, Sunny!

Mrs81 · 26/06/2015 20:52

Ahhhhh. I think this shoe choice thing might be more of a girl thing. There aren't many choices for boys!

Sunbeam - I'm not sure I retained the idea that you were south queensferry either!! Ho hum.

cuphat · 27/06/2015 03:10

DD wears her shoes everywhere and for running around etc. They're quite summery. She usually goes barefoot in the garden (unless it's damp!) as that's better for the slide.

SunnyL · 27/06/2015 08:17

Hang on a minute - I only knew Sunbeam was near me. There's 3 of us??? We should do coffee. I'm Midlothian and clearly in the middle so you should totally come my way for a meet up.

Yes like others we only have 1pair of clarks shoes then 1pair of wellies and 1 pair of mothercare trainers. My sister was trained by clarks when she managed a kids shop and was told you need to gives kids feet a variety to allow them to grow and stop making them only fit 1 type of shoe.

HungryHorace · 27/06/2015 09:24

DD enjoying her phonics thingy!

Ah...I'm jealous of a potential meet up. I think I'm quite a way from most people on here.

Ahh. Looks like the non magnetic version of DD's bus. B says buh, b says buh, every letter makes a sound, b says buh. I no longer have chart songs stuck in my head (in fact I couldn't name any - I'm stuck in the 90s), it's tunes from toys all the way now!

Sunbeam18 · 27/06/2015 13:09

Great, Sunny - I'd love a meet up! Happy to come to wherever suits you both.

Mrs81 · 27/06/2015 13:33

What a good idea Smile

Sunny - don't know if I twigged to you being Midlothian but I may actually be quite near Shock Will PM you lest I totally out myself/you by mistake!!

HungryHorace · 27/06/2015 14:41

I often have CBeebies' tunes in my head. It's not good.

But yes, no tunes, chart or otherwise, on my head now!

PeekABooPinky101 · 27/06/2015 19:21

Glad it's not just me with random tunes in my head. Sometimes, once dd is asleep I very quietly listen to music that doesn't always rhyme or help me understand what a cowboy does. Makes me feel a bit more human again.

Currently typing very carefully as have wet nails, for the first time in a long time I've painted my nails. In the crazy and/or stupid hope they last through to tomorrow night when my best friend is coming down and we are going out! boyzone concert, not sure this will help my non modern music issue! I'm excited yet also very nervous!

You three should definitely meet up, I am, pretty much, right down the other end of the country. Miles and miles away from any of you!

AlohaMama · 27/06/2015 20:35

Hi all. Been on holiday for a while and had terrible morning sickness before that so not been posting much. E has a variety of shoes but given the choice would be in wellies most of the time.

That will be nice if some of you meet up. From memory there was a few in Scotland, a few in London and others more widespread. Weren't you SW pinky? I'm new forest way, don't think anyone was near me.

How many are potty training now? We've had a couple of attempts but both have resulted in major poo disasters, she doesn't seem to realise Hmm. Might have to leave it a bit longer...

HungryHorace · 27/06/2015 21:35

We thought about potty training as DD wanted to use the loo. She's now decided that she doesn't want to, but does know when she's weeing / pooing, so I suppose it's worth another shot.

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 27/06/2015 21:36

Enjoy Boyzone, Pinky! :-)

OP posts:
cuphat · 27/06/2015 23:02

Have a good time, pinky. I haven't painted my nails since DD was born!

Same here, hungry. DD was really interested in using the toilet not so long ago but has no interest now. Although she's ready other than that as she tells us when she's about to wee or poo. We'll wait until she shows an interest again. Her baby brother is her main interest at the moment.

HungryHorace · 27/06/2015 23:06

Me neither, cup! No bloody time. :-/

Bees and owls are taking all of DD's interest these days! I'm sure she will potty train soon though.

OP posts:
cuphat · 27/06/2015 23:10

DD loves bees and owls too. And snakes and lions and ladybirds. She got to stroke an owl a couple of months back which she loved. But meeting a real ladybird didn't go so well; it was ok until the point at which she stroked it and it fell into her pushchair...

HungryHorace · 28/06/2015 01:31

DD is often a bit over-friendly with bugs meaning that they need a sleep once they've met her! Bless her, bug slaughterer extraordinaire.

I think that she'd implode with excitement if she got to stroke an 'ow-wul'. She does a running on the spot type thing when she's excited; it's very cute!

That phonics thing has gone down a treat. She's loving it. :-)

OP posts:
cuphat · 28/06/2015 03:31

DD's a bug slaughterer too. Unintentionally. She kissed a tiny fly a month or so ago and it stuck to her lip! I dealt with it surreptitiously and she didn't realise.

Aww DD does a similar excited thing, it's so cute. She has arm movements to go with it. Owl was randomly at a steam railway station. I was just as excited as I love them too.
