haven't how are the boobs? DD had boob at 5.50am this morning and then didn't have her usual extra morning boob when she woke at 7.30am, just went straight to breakfast...so I'm feeling the pain now too. Amazing that I can manage to pop onto MN while working but expressing to relieve pain feels like too much effort Hmm back to work with me!

Greenstone · 08/07/2015 11:11

MrsA that is a very interesting question.

She implements some kind of CM-voodoo.

When DD started off with the CM at 6 months, I sent a dummy and her comforter with her since there would be no boob. I was really worried about it actually! So for the first month or so she gave her the dummy at naptime and I'm not sure exactly if she rocked her a bit or just put her down and let her get on with it.

Then we figured out here that DD doesn't need the dummy for naps - DH was able to put her down for her weekend morning naps with just a minute or two of rocking so we ditched the dummy. It has since come back at night, but we don't use it at all during the day now. So it doesn't go to the CM.

So! I believe that the CM puts DD down for her nap, gives her her comforter, and leaves the room. Apparently she complains for a few minutes - sometimes - and then goes to sleep. According to the CM, DD2 has been the quickest baby to settle for her so far.

Honestly, these babies would make fools of you - DD2 has NOT been an easy baby but I think having DD1 there plus a fairly structured day to begin with (thanks to DD1) has just helped ease her in. Also babies will do all kinds of things for childcare workers that they simply won't do for parents. I can't just put DD2 down in her cot and walk away at naptime - believe me I've tried! However she will go down easily for her morning weekend naps without boob, always under 3 minutes of rocking. I think babies tend to be so exhausted for that first nap that they go down for it more easily than others.

Sorry, that was a bit of an essay!

Ahhh up every 2hrs last night just as think it's getting better.

Made banana pancakes for lunch literally mashed banana with beaten egg he liked them I wasn't so keen.

Bottom 2 teeth are slowly trying to cut causing miserable baby

Mrs A I totally empathize with the night feeding.

Ohh if anyone has a boots coupon £1 off 2 pks cow n gate fruit pots they are currently £1 on offer but due to the way the discount came off I got them free!! Not sure how it worked So best brought with other stuff.

Got a munchkin 360 trainer cup today so going to try that later

happypotamus · 08/07/2015 14:00

Here breakfast time depends on what time she wakes up, usually between 7 and 8.30. Lunch is between 12 and 1, and dinner is usually at 6. She tends to have milk not long after breakfast and lunch and often 'snack' little feeds at random other times. After dinner I bath both DDs together, get them ready for bed, try to read stories while DD2 makes a lot of noise, try to keep DD2 quiet while sitting next to DD1 who is usually messing about instead of going to sleep, if I am lucky DD2 will feed to sleep while I am reading and not wake up as soon as I put her in the cot, then she wakes up to be fed repeatedly throughout the night.
DH decided yesterday that I look exhausted (I don't feel any more tired than usual but maybe over 8 months of only brief periods of sleep is catching up on me), and suggested some things he can do to help out (bath times, clearing the kitchen when I am bathing them, getting up with them some mornings), but he has said all this before and still only bathed them once and got up early so I could lie in maybe 3 times, so we shall see.
Her new favourite food is peach. She ate a whole big one yesterday.

happypotamus · 08/07/2015 14:10

You all posted photos a while ago, and I didn't have any recent ones on the right computer or the technological know-how to get them there. Here is a picture of DD2 on the beach (if my first attempt at adding a photo to MN works)

Annarose2014 · 08/07/2015 14:48

Oh look how well she's sitting up! I'm very smug mummy here, met someone who has a baby 5 days older and who was amazed at how well DS was sitting. And he was twiddling some beads and she said hers doesn't have such nimble fingers yet. But then her baby has 2 teeth already & DS has none so it really is swings and roundabouts isn't it? DS has always been physically very strong (like both of us, in fairness) but he's probably very average otherwise. Still! I beamed at her! Grin

1st night in his own room was hard. He had a proper nightmare first, then woke at 3, 3.30, 4.30....

I actually suspect he may have been cold. He's been just in a long sleeve vest & GroBag lately but I was surprised what a difference it makes when two warm people are no longer in the same room. So babygro tonight I think & hopefully it'll improve.

The luxury though of being able to read in bed with the lights on! Wow!

haventgotaclue1 · 08/07/2015 19:22

Greenstone we're on 4 BF a day here: 6, 10-ish, 2-ish and about 5.45. I didn't last long after the post - got way too uncomfortable and so had to hand express and felt just like a cow being milked... Confused

Annarose2014 · 08/07/2015 19:55

Yeah, nice change from blue, blue and er....gray. Tbh half of DSs wardrobe is from Tesco, lol. I'm so cheap! Grin

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 08/07/2015 20:15

Anna boots do lovely boys clothes and often do buy one get one half price at the mo they have a sale on. I got some jogging bottoms for winter for nursery for £3 a pair.

Annarose2014 · 08/07/2015 23:43

Our Boots is one of those ones with a teeeeeny kids clothes section but I'll keep an eye out!

What are the best clothes everyone has got? The best we've gotten has been American stuff, from family over there - I think its the really thick cotton or something? Anyway the brand everyone buys over there is "Carters" - I suspect they're the US version of Mothercare. They have beeeeyoootiful soft babygros - with zips instead of poppers! I think I'm going to stalk Ebay for some in bigger sizes.

(My neighbour buys Polarn O Pyret for her kids - i've been delivered her packages on occasion - quite jealous!)

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 09/07/2015 03:22

Anna I love jojomaman bebe and boden clothes but only buy in sale at 60-70% off although have started buying at 50% off for ds1 now it will do 2 of them.

John Lewis and marks Spencer are also great I tend to buy in sale at both.

Not an asda fan doesn't wash overly well and not great for handing down for next child

ladydolly · 09/07/2015 06:32

ONE wake up!!! It's a miracle!!! (a calpol fuelled miracle!).

GAP all the way for me, but I'm really cheap so only in the end of sale, at least 50% off stuff and I buy ahead too so I'm building her wardrobe up to about 3 at the moment. I buy 2nd hand too. We're still getting most stuff handed down from my sisters little girl but babydolly is mere ounces and centimetres behind her in size so I don't think it will last much longer!

MrsAukerman · 09/07/2015 06:51

Handmedowns, eBay polarn o pyret, presents and lots of H&M here. I order basics quarterly from H&M online.
Got a few JoJo bits for his christening and they're lovely.
Also get a few knitted bits from my mum too. See picture!

Definitely hand-me-downs here (colleague at work has 2 DDs aged 2 and 5 years Grin) although am having to buy vests and sleep suits - have found M&S fit her best (Asda ones are twitchy in comparison).

haventgotaclue1 · 09/07/2015 08:39

PS Ladydolly, WOO HOO !!!! (for your one wake-up) Grin Long may it continue!

happypotamus · 09/07/2015 09:07

anna we have a few things from carters. I don't know where my mum gets them from, I'm guessing Costco or TKMax if you can get to either of those.

Strawberryfield12 · 09/07/2015 09:26

I am building DDs wardrobe ahead also. Last night got email that Mothercare sale started, so will be looking for clothes for next summer. Another favourite is to use Tesco clubcard boost to buy DD clothes. The last boost doubled £10 vauchers and for £2 bought pile of stuff (pack of vests, sleepauits, summer onesees, dress, leggings). Perfect when it will be too small in 3 months time! For a treat and special occassions its Boden and White Company, but has to be on sale 50% off.
Beautiful pictures!

Strawberryfield12 · 09/07/2015 09:30

Here goes DD in her Tesco dress on 7 months birthday morning :)

November 2014 - The one where they won't stay still.
Annarose2014 · 09/07/2015 12:50

Oooh, I'll check TKMaxx, thanks for that.

I was in Next this morning and I got serious girls-clothes jealousy. Everything was so colourful! And all this pink Peppa Pig stuff that apparently boys aren't allowed to have (DS thinks Peppa is the best thing ever).

I bought a few bits for myself after realising that despite my tall height, I really can't get away with my mum-tum without a more accomodating wardrobe. I bought a shift dress, a pair of stretchy harem pants and a baggy linen t-shirt. Hopefully that'll disguise the disaster area.

ladydolly · 09/07/2015 14:43

What gorgeous babies and gorgeous outfits! Here is dd in her 3rd hand vertbaudet playsuit and the H&M trilby I finally tracked down!

I was just going through bags of toys (donated by my sister) on our bed when dd's little face popped up next to me! She's been eyeing up pulling herself up for a few days but we don't really have a suitable surface but the motivation of toys was too much for her. I guess I'll also be running round clearing things away now too!

Next sale due in a week so we can all stock up on clothes then. Like you anna my mum tum is holding me back wardrobe wise, I fit in all my old stuff but some of it draws too much attention to my newly grown 'apron' tummy :(

ladydolly · 09/07/2015 14:44

Oops forgot the photo!!

Strawberryfield12 · 09/07/2015 20:21

Oh dear, DD pulled guts out of Ewan tonight! I left her to sit on bed with Ewan in the reach while I was making her bed time bottle. Before she has been very adamant not to be left on her own and then there was a silence for a while. I started to worry and went to check on her to find the poor Ewan executed. I didnt think this is going to start so soon... Confused
