Took ds to docs today as been ill for 2weeks as I thought all upper respiratory so just ride it out but just wanted him checked.

Breakfast was refused today but lunch wolfed down roast chicken dinner, tea is rib eye steak again must label my pots in freezer and when we have our spag bol he will have some pasta on his highchair and may chuck some green beans in pan for him.

MrsAukerman · 02/06/2015 19:22

Breakfast was banana porridge fingers
Lunch was sweet potato, cheese sticks and cucumber sticks

omama that's exactly what happened to dd, she also puked violently and her eye swelled up, it was scary. Got a prescription for liquid Piriton which I'm glad to have in the house. It's a bummer because dd1 ate so much egg during weaning and even now and I find it such a handy quick meal. We don't all eat dinner together as a family during the week cause dh and I like to have them in bed so we can relax and talk!

Breakfast was porridge and lunch sweet potato (both at CM) and dinner was chicken, leek, parsnip, broccoli and cheese puree with pasta, with some broccoli to play with. Used the heinz baby stars pasta which is really really handy, done in 3-5 mins.

Well done to the babies sleeping at night - dd did an hour this morn but only 30 mins in the afternoon so probably a crappy night ahead.

strawberry that fruit sounds so good btw Shock

DD had salmon and broccoli pasta bake from the BLW cookbook tonight, we had some last week and I froze some in ramekins for her. She loved it!! especially the pasta on top that had grated cheddar and breadcrumbs cooked on. Lots on the floor and down her front but lots definitely went in - she was literally shoving fistfuls in. And then she had most of half a very ripe banana afterwards too.
She had rice cakes, cucumber, celery for lunch (we were out, I wanted something fairly mess free!). And banana drop scones for breakfast (she didn't eat much of those), and then sucked a few orange segments utterly dry. I can't believe the change from just a week ago when everything was still being spat out.
I can actually hear her swallowing now which is weird, it sounds like she is swallowing air too each time, there's a little squeak. She's still sick quite a lot, it's just possetting I guess really, but it is getting a bit gross as it's got food in now so smells like proper sick. Urgh. she's still gaining weight and everything so hoping now she's sitting up it'll ease soon.

omama · 02/06/2015 21:36

Greenstone dd has been sick quite a lot (more than usual) this avo, am wondering if its down to the egg. the redness & rash has all settled now thankfully. did you get the piriton from your gp? i took lots of photos so think I'll speak to my gp about it. My eldest loved egg as a baby so shame if she cant eat it. we're off dairy at the moment too but will soon be trying her back on it to see if she reacts. GP has said if she does then she'll refer dd to see a dietician.x

ladydolly · 02/06/2015 21:47

Oh eastmids I hope he's better soon.

The rhubarb muffin went down a storm for dinner, she was shovelling crumbs in as best she could! Brekkie was weetabix, lunch was broccoli and pear puree.

Hideous night last night, she woke for her late night feed at 10.15 and I just could not get her back down, she'd fall asleep on the boob but as soon as I'd put her in the cot she'd start crying. 2 hours that went on. Then at 3am same deal only after half an hour I gave up and brought her into bed with me and she slept until 6.30.
First nap, same thing, had to feed her to sleep in my bed and leave her there which I hate doing now because she fell off our bed last week when I wasn't looking.

I'm getting a bit worried about her sleep, she used to be quite happy going in the cot/bed drowsy but now she has to be fast asleep or she just howls. She's waking more now than when she was little. Normally 10, 1, 4 and 6/7 and I'm not sure if she's hungry or nursing back to sleep. She can only get to sleep by being fed, occasionally she can be rocked to sleep but only with much resistance (by that I mean 15 minutes of screaming and back arching) and at 18lbs she's not easier to carry for that long. DP can't help me through the nights or bedtimes so it's getting quite hard work. Does anyone have any ideas?

Greenstone · 02/06/2015 22:25

No expert but could well have been the egg omama. Dd was actually fairly cheerful throughout her whole allergic reaction. It was the weekend when it happened so we rang OOH, and they told us to go to A&E to be on the safe side. They gave dd some Piriton in A&E and a prescription for same.

Never been sure about the dairy here. Think it's likely she's sensitive to it but at the moment seems to handle cheese fine and she's having a small bit of formula at the CM. Not giving any straight cow's milk until after her dietician appointment in ...wait for it...September Hmm
(We are in Ireland)

Greenstone · 02/06/2015 22:27

Is it teeth maybe lady do you think? No advice here, dh is currently rocking dd back to sleep after she woke when I was in shower. She wakes every night I have a shower because of the pipes I guess, so annoying.

ladydolly · 02/06/2015 22:55

I actually wonder if last nights problems were due to me being out all day Sunday and most of saturday too, I think she was clingy. Its more the long term boob dependancy I worry about...

haventgotaclue1 · 03/06/2015 06:26

ladydolly we had exactly the same thing up until 3 weeks ago. I was bf her to sleep and had to very carefully put her in cot bed without waking her...

Followed a sleeping technique in a book called "baby sleeping trust techniques. Alternatives to controlled crying" by rebecca welton. Followed this to the letter and saw miracle results within a few days Grin. The whole idea was to break the association between sleep and being bf. Worked like a dream. She also has a fb page (think it's called the walking zombies club, or something like that! )

ladydolly · 03/06/2015 07:16

I ordered the book last night haven't! How is it going now? Still working well?

We're going on holiday in 2 weeks followed by moving house 2 weeks after that, I'm wondering if I should do it now or wait until after the upheavals....

excitedforbaba · 03/06/2015 09:28

Gosh it's been a while!

Now that DD is sleeping relatively long stretches at night and loves her jumperoo iv rediscovered my addiction to mumsnet! Will try to catch up with you all over the next few days. So good to see a lot from the antenatal threads here still.

Dd was 6 months last week, am sure you're all asking the same question...where has the time gone! This time last year it was all scans, cravings, sickness etc she is loving spoon feeds and has 2 teeth!

Can I ask you ladies for some recommendations for new toys? She seems bored of all her current ones, opting to play with the wipe packet (if she can get her hands on it!) And her bottle lid Instead!! Confused

haventgotaclue1 · 03/06/2015 14:11

ladydolly so far so good (she says whilst touching wood! ) - it's transformed my life! Dd now naps 4 times a day in her cot bed and self settles herself to sleep at night! !!
I must admit that I basically had to stay at home for 2 weeks in order to get the routine embedded and be really consistent for that period of time (recommended by Rebecca), but in my opinion that was a very small price to pay Smile. Dh was very sceptical about it all, but even he is amazed by the results.

excitedforbaba the latest things my 6mo is into are some really simple stacking cups and her walker. The jumperoo is also a firm favourite, and also any rustling paper / plastic. ..Hmm

excitedforbaba · 03/06/2015 15:26

Thanks haven't, yep discovered she likes to rattle my crisp packet this lunch time! You can tell how healthy I'm eating at min!

All he'll breaks lose here if I try to get Dd to nap in her cot during the day! I must look into this book Wink as I say anything is worth trying!

MrsAukerman · 03/06/2015 15:39

Book ordered!!!

Annarose2014 · 03/06/2015 16:35

Book ordered! I have to stop him grumbling for the dummy 8 times a night. Also ordered the Ellas Kitchen one - came to just over £10 for both which qualifies for free delivery!

Annarose2014 · 03/06/2015 16:38

Re toys: we just bought the vtech activity walker. We're not using the walker part (thats 12m+) but you can take the activity panel off and plonk it on the ground.

DS is loving bashing it over and over.

may be getting very very sick of Old McDonald already

haventgotaclue1 · 03/06/2015 16:45

Oh wow! I really hope that it works for you both Anna and MrsA...It has done for us and think that it really helped that I was pretty religious about following it to the first 2 weeks. I think Rebecca does Skype / email consultations if that's the road you want to go down. ...

Food intake today: breakfast - porridge and pear puree. Lunch - butternut squash puree, cheese and cucumber sticks followed by a sneaky lick of mummy's ice cream Wink

MrsAukerman · 03/06/2015 17:12

Food all gone wrong today so anticipating a bad night. We were at a friend's house at our normal lunchtime of 1130 so he nibbled on raw pepper and v mature cheddar but neither really got eaten then he ate some stuff when I finally got lunch at 1430 so when I just gave him dinner now he wasn't interested.

Maybe I'll wait til after holiday at least then, looking forward to reading it! She's been ok today but last nap is late so bed time might be longer.

Breakfast was usual weetbix and half an apple and she ate the lot with gusto! Lunch was rice cakes and hummus with a peach (hummus not popular), dinner will be a bagel and some cheese. Bit carb heavy today!

Feel very tired today, wasn't a bad night (for us) but I think the 6 months of broken sleep is getting to me. Dp is away for a long weekend for the footie so I won't get my usual time off, have summoned dm so I can get down to the allotment for a bit.
