Morning all! A shiny new thread for Easter.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, I'm off to eat copious amounts of chocolate whilst hiding in the floor of the nursery with Ewan the sheep Easter Grin

Hi ladies Smile. Dont know if anyone still checking mumsnet ? Just want to say i cannot believe we are approaching the first birthdaysShock. Anybody got anything nice planned?

I have been back at work for a month now... Feels like i have never been away.

Hope you are all well, and wonder if any of you are planning any more soon ? Wink

FATEdestiny · 16/09/2015 12:51

Hiya! 10 days until DDs birthday. I can't believe its gone so fast.

She's having a sit on / push along toy. The type where you lift the seat and put stuff in there. I know how much toddlers like stashing random stuff in the seat.

It's tough for us to find much to buy for DDs birthday, because with four children we already have most stuff.

Birthday season here - four family birthdays in September (including mine) - three of those birthdays are within a week. Hectic time with parties.

Tea party for DD on her birthday, just extended family. Anyone got any party plans?

Buttwing · 22/09/2015 19:07

Hello all! Lots of birthdays over the next couple of months for us too. Had babywing christened at the weekend was lovely! No plans for his birthday really as we've so many this month I'm thinking I may tag him on with one of the other parties lazy mummy

Hope everyone is doing ok? I wonder if anyone from the thread is pregnant again, I think most people have abandoned ship!!!

polkadotdelight · 22/09/2015 21:39

Im a Sept poster but lurk in October too. Definitely no more babies for us! 1st birthday in less than a week and its embarrassing how emotional I am becoming about it!

ohthegoats · 22/09/2015 21:53

No birthday plans here - we're (finally) having our kitchen floor put down on her actual birthday, so that's a nice present for her - no more grating her feet and knees up on the concrete. We've bought her a Scuttle Bug for her birthday though, which she's already had - she's been walking for 6 weeks, and at nursery it was obvious that she was getting a bit obsessed by trikes and stuff.

Luckily she really likes nursery - she's going 3 days a week. I'm back at work for 4 days a week, my boyfriend has every other Friday off, so we've shared the other Fridays out amongst the grandparents. They all want to do more, but it means them staying at our house - they're not good at getting the hint to go home, so once a month is fine!!

Work is a bit of a nightmare. Not the actual teaching bit, but the other shite that goes with being in education these days. Might have a rethink on career, but not at this point.

We're pretty certain there will be no more children, although we've done nothing semi permanent or permanent about contraception, so I guess there's a little bit still of a possibility that we'll change our minds. I'm 42 in January though, so probably it's time to shut up shop.

FATEdestiny · 22/09/2015 22:27

I know exactly what you mean about the other shite involved with a teaching career. I am probably not the best of people to pass comment on this (given how pleased I am to be away from the profession), but definitely too soon to make any decisions yet. Give it a year -or get pregnant again and give yourself another maternity leave to decide--

I very nearly tagged DDs birthday onto a siblings party. Just doing a bit of an open house tea instead for mine and DDs birthday.

DD has started playing with dolls. I find is fascinating, really interesting how biological it is. We had no dolls around the house and she has no younger siblings. But if she finds a doll at playgroup she will cuddle it, cradle hold, rock and place into the toy pushchair.

When my eldest daughter first got into dolls, we had a newborn in the house so I assumed she was copying me. But this time around I can see how instinctive caring for a baby is, even in one so young.

Binglesplodge · 30/09/2015 10:51

It's nearly birthday time for the October babies! I'd forgotten all about this thread so I thought I'd bump it in the hope that we can get it going again...

Buttwing · 13/10/2015 21:53

Happy birthday to all the babies!! Especially those born today like babywing can't believe how quickly a year has passed. Babywing is walking and cutting his molars two through but it's not been fun Sad

We ended up having a little party for him today even though I said wasn't going to bother, he's had a ball playing with.....all the wrapping paper Grin

Kirstipops · 11/11/2015 21:44

I think most of the birthdays will have been by now, I hope you all had a good day celebrating your babies' firsts! H is 13 months now and climbing and cruising but still no standing or walking, she surely makes up for it with talking and singing though, she never stops!

MsDinosaur · 05/03/2016 00:50

Wow this thread hasn't been touched in a while! How is everyone? I left mumsnet when they had all the security issues but have returned! Anyone still around?

MsDinosaur · 06/03/2016 23:48

Happy Mother's Day to the Oct 2014 mummies. :-)

Binglesplodge · 21/03/2016 18:39

Still here! Hope everyone's doing well: this is my favourite age by miles. Walking, talking nonsense, turning into proper little people!

MsDinosaur · 21/03/2016 19:11

Hi Binglesplodge! I was worried everyone had gone.....! No walking here yet! Talking nonsense - yes!

Igottastartthinkingbee · 23/03/2016 14:00

Hello! Wondering if anyone is still out there and how everyone is doing 17/18months or so on....

Binglesplodge · 23/03/2016 14:16

Just hitting what I suspect is the 18 month sleep regression, if I'm honest... :-/ anyone else?

Igottastartthinkingbee · 23/03/2016 16:51

Oh no is there an 18 month sleep regression?!! DD hasn't ever really been a fantastic sleeper so maybe I've not noticed!

Binglesplodge · 23/03/2016 18:57

whistles nonchalantly
18 month sleep regression? What 18 month sleep regression? I'm sure it won't affect you... Wink

MsDinosaur · 24/03/2016 23:58

WHAT sleep regression?

FATEdestiny · 28/03/2016 22:19

Oh I didn't know this thread was still going! Happy Easter everyone. Easter GrinHow were your little ones with the clocks changing this weekend?

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 28/03/2016 22:25

Hi! Lovely Easter here thank you. Hope everyone is well. I've not been on since having dd as it was moving too fast for me to keep up!

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 28/03/2016 22:26

Oh and clock change went well, but we've had a couple of late nights recently so bed time is all over the place.

MrsCeee · 16/08/2016 16:19

Just wondering if anyone is around....

MundayCakes85 · 16/09/2016 21:47
