Aw munday hope you have a great day Grin and hope you do have lots of Wine

Buttwing glad weaning is going a bit better, my dd hates anything lumpy off a spoon i mean really gags to the point of being sick from gagging, but she is fine with finger foods Hmm does gag now & again, cue heart attack from me !!

My second period on the coil wasnt heavy as the first thank goodness, i dont suffer cramps that much either but my spd does flare up around that time which is annoying and the week before i am totally drained of energy aswell with 0 % motivation

Teething hell here too Shock plus a really bad cough and cold, first night she has been in my bed since i put her into her own room, which teeth would just come, she seems to have been teething for ages but no sign of them, dd1 got her first about 7 months so im hoping dd2 will be the same as she is 7 months next week i think!

Im off to turkey on wednesday so need to get my ass in gear and get packed and organised!!

Enjoy the weekend and hopefully we get that heat wave ??

sazzlehopes · 09/05/2015 08:01

Hope you have a good birthday weekend munday!
Yes hubnut every now and then they put something huge in and it's such an urge to grab it. The other day I was thinking oh crap he's swallowed a huge piece of about skin but nope out it popped completely clean and stripped of the fleshy bit!
Stigz Turkey wow jealous! Enjoy! X

sazzlehopes · 09/05/2015 08:02

*Avocado skin

Have a nice birthday weekend!

Weaning is going ok I think, he likes porridge and veg sticks and fruit. Also egg and toast went down well.

I'm still pretty low. I've really cocked up somehow, he used to go back to sleep after a night feed, now he just won't. Can I ask how you all would handle this?

For example last night he woke at 12.30 and he had a dirty nappy. I changed him, fed him and put him back in his cot. I then tried for an hour to help him sleep. If I took my hand off him he started crying. Eventually I gave up and brought him to my bed at 2 am and he fell asleep.

Should I have tried for longer? Given up earlier? I feel like such a failure.

STIGZ · 09/05/2015 10:00

splendid i would do what you want to do rather than what you "think" you should be doing iyswim ?

If bringing him into your bed is easier and you don't mind then i would just co/sleep. If not then just persevere but i know thats not easy when you are exhausted through the night.

FATEdestiny · 09/05/2015 11:24

splendide you are not a failure.

There's always these phases, you'll get through it. I have issues with my DD getting up on all fours and rocking/crawling around when she should be sleeping. So I have to keep my hand firmly on her chest to keep her still. It seems as soon as I remove it, she wakes up and starts again.

It'll pass when she re-learns that she needs to lie down to sleep. So rather than changing anything, I'm working on coping strategies. I'm taking the side back off the cot today so that leaning my arm over to her is easier. Also DH has given me a number of mornings in bed this week and I had an afternoon nap with DD every day last week.

Before I've had the cot side off, when my arm started feeling numb from draping over the side of the cot, I would just bring her in with me and cuddle - that always works.

On another subject - I have my copper coil fitting in 2 weeks and I am very scared about it. I hate examinations down there at the best of times. My friend says the fitting is not quick and involves a lot of faffing, which worries me.

Buttwing · 09/05/2015 12:55

fate I had mine fitted two weeks ago and it was fine it takes a bit longer because they put numbing gel on your cervix and have to wait a few minutes for it to work then they insert it. It was in no way painful for me just a bit of a drawn out smear! I was nervous too but it really was fine.
Dp was out yesterday at the races and then out to bars afterwards rocked in at 1.30 this morning after being on the piss since lunchtime he woke me up and kept me wake til 4 with his snoring and moving in bed. I chucked him out at 4 and made him sleep on the sofa I'm soo grumpy with him today, told him if he's going out on boozy days like that again he can stay in a bloody hotel grrrrr.
He's now sat on the sofa looking like death warmed up feeling sorry for him self. I plan to take my revenge all day mwah ha ha ha!!!!

Buttwing · 09/05/2015 12:57

stigz thanks for that I hoping I will go the same way last night I was debating one of the boys nappies! Blush

FATEdestiny · 09/05/2015 13:36

In my "counselling" session regarding the coil, the doctors said something about first having to stick an inflating devise up first, to measure the inside of my uterus. The once measurements are taken the coil is fitted.

It feels like they do all they can to put you off having the coil fitted. I first phoned to arrange having the coil fitted over a month ago. It's taken waiting for two appointments until the point when I can actually have it fitted. All the waiting is making me far more nervous because I have time to think about it, dwell on it, worry about it and so on. If it was done straight away, I'd have had far less time to get myself into such a state about it.

sazzlehopes · 09/05/2015 14:09

Splendide in which case I too have cocked up! N now is awake for a good hour or so at night, crawling about and general long being annoying. Last night was almost 2 hours... I think a mixture of wind and being a very active little crawler now. Do what you need to do to get through this next stage. I've brought N into bed with me but actually he is far too active even in his sleep now and he was on the edge of the bed last night which sent me into a panic as he'd moved loads without me realising. I like co sleeping but it's not going to work for us now. I need to tackle trying to get him back into his cot or sleeping next to him in his own room now it's too dangerous for us to co sleep, he needs to be contained!
He's crawling properly now up on knees and hands it's insane. I can't believe how fast he is at just 7 months... My ds1 was no where near this stage! Shock

Buttwing · 09/05/2015 15:57

fate nothing inflatable went in as far as I'm aware Confused
However it did take forever to get to the fitting stage as it needed a double app which wasn't available for weeks and I also had swabs taken to ensure I had no infections which was probably a bit over cautious considering I'd just had a baby.

munday meant to say before hope you have a fabulous birthday Wine Flowers

splendide · 09/05/2015 16:51

Thanks all. Ok sounds like it's a bit more normal than I thought, phew! I think I'll put him my bed sooner tonight and try to relax about it. FATE, like you I've been napping with him in the afternoons so that's helpful.

I can't stand the thought of a coil (unhelpful sorry!) I think DH is going to get the snip.

Igottastartthinkingbee · 09/05/2015 19:08

Me either, the thought of a coil makes me wince! Fortunately there is very little bedroom activity (other than settling the baby!) so no real need for one anyway. Is anyone else having very little nookie??!! I have no inclination most of the time. Is that normal?

Hubnut · 09/05/2015 22:18

I'm the same Igotta when I get time to myself I'd rather read or sleep! I was given a contraceptive pill that is okay for breastfeeding and a handful of condoms at my six week check. Never bothered with the pill and still have a few condoms left. Poor DP!

I'm impressed at crawling, DS is a fab sitter and can roll onto his back, then gets stuck like a little turtle. I'm not in any hurry though, I love these milestones they make me cheer like a loon.

FATEdestiny · 09/05/2015 22:38

The thought of the coil makes me wince too Igotta, I'm scared shitless about having it fitted, frankly.

The 30 min appointment is at 2.30pm - I could do the school run afterwards. But I've asked Mum to babysit for me through to 5pm. To give me enough time to feel sorry for myself, lick my wounds and pull myself back together before dealing with the children.

Hello Hubnut Smile.

MundayCakes85 · 10/05/2015 01:01

Hi all, had a lovely day. DH and I went on a zip wire off the pier as a surprise from my mum and step-dad. Followed my a nice lunch by the beach. Just back from drinks out and DH asleep on the sofa. Apparently he was going to be in charge of baby tonight and tomorrow but it's not looking likely Hmm
Thanks for all the birthday wishes.
Also I leave DD when she starts messing in the cot talking/ wiggling in the night. I'm right there if she cries but can't keep going in for chats/ cuddles at 4am!

Thanks for all the b'day wishes. We did a zip wire off the pier as a surprise from mum and step-dad. Then had a lovely lunch by the beach.
Just got back from drinks out and DH asleep on sofa, although he promised to do the night/ morning shift for me Hmm
Igotta- I'm not interested by making the effort once a week for DH, hoping it all comes back over time Smile

Sounds like a good day! I hope your DH did his bit in the end.

I had the best night for ages last night thank goodness. A went to sleep at 7.15 then was really restless between 10-11 (but I was asleep so DH dealt with it) then slept through to 4. Then a feed and asleep till 6.30. I just brought him straight in bed with me at 4, hate decided to stop agonising about it.

I've just found out my brother's wife is pregnant. Very exciting, she's due beginning of November. It's funny, my parents will have gone from no grandchildren to 3 within just over a year (my other brother had his first just before A was born).

Hubnut · 10/05/2015 09:27

Hooray for sleep splendide. We did ok apart from a 4am songfest, which culminated in a loud pump. He nodded off again after that. It'll be lovely for all the cousins to be so close in age.

Happy birthday Munday!

FATEdestiny · 10/05/2015 11:23

My Mum did exactly the same splendide - zero to three grandchildren within 14 months. The two eldest grandsons were born 4 weeks apart.

My Mum loves it. She made the decision to retire as soon as she found out she would be a grandmother. I hope one day I can be the same sort of grandparent as my Mum is Blush

Yeah for your sleep! Absolutely right not to agonise about anything.

Happy Birthday Munday - sounds like a lovely day!

splendide · 10/05/2015 13:47

My mum did too! She loves being a granny. Both my parents have been amazingly helpful actually - no idea what I'd do without them.

sazzlehopes · 10/05/2015 14:22

Igotta not much action here either, far too tired. N has been an awful sleeper so it was the furthest thing from my mind frankly. Now we've got him into his own room I'm hoping things will get a bit more normal but to be honest my sex drive has always been quite low...Blush

sazzlehopes · 10/05/2015 20:19

Oh my god I broke the thread with my libido chat ShockShockShock

STIGZ · 10/05/2015 20:35

Lol sazzle Grin nope mines was never great anyway either, i blame contraception and anxiety medication and obviously the kids! Thank god dp is just as tired as i am due to working all hours at the moment, i will probably get pounced on the second he relaxes with a beer on holiday, let's hope the kids and my parents aren't around Wink

STIGZ · 10/05/2015 20:41

Posted too early Angry

munday your birthday surprise sounded fab.. Although I'm not sure i would be brave enough to accept a gift like that Blush. Hope your dh redeemed himself and gave you a day of rest Smile
