Apparently the other thread is closed. How're nappy explosions going?
Baby bought up a little bit, but I thinks it's because she had a total of 9oz in an hour.

Thanks for the support everyone. I told you Dh was a diamond really... He tidied got up with the kids at 6 and then we swapped at 9 for an hour and he organised for myself, mum and my sister to have a girly night tonight at mums and knowing I would feel guilty for leaving the kids, gave me no choice but to go! It was a fantastic evening and I feel all nice and refreshed. He's also organised some girly time and a massage for my birthday next week. He's only just come to bed as has been doing work and even though he has managed to wake dd, who's screaming has subsequently woken Ds I can't be annoyed! He is helping resettle Ds anyway. Grin
Dd has been a little more settled tonight. Well a lot more to be honest. She's actually gone down in her Moses basket for most of the night so far. I hope everyone else's nights are going well.
eliza you do well living with the mil. I do love mine but could definitely not live with her and have learnt to ignore her abruptness as I know she means well really!
We went to the farm with the kids today and it was so lovely as Ds is in to everything at the moment and unbelievably refuses to be carried or go in the pushchair. He has walked the 3 mile round trip to the shop and everything! He doesn't even act tired afterwards. It shows how much energy he has got! It was so lovely to see Ds get so excited by the animals. His new thing at the minute is to say ohhhhhhh and put his arms out at everything. He also does a royal wave at everything! Dd refused to sleep the whole time we were there and also refused the pushchair (why did I spend so much on a double buggy again?!) but loved being a little princess carried around all day! I do love my kids Grin

Your dh has done well! Good man
So glad you got some time off to recharge before it all started again!
Keep smiling
Think of the good times Smile

Our Moses basket has become a dumping ground for baby clothes toys and blankets cz she hates the basket
Also doesn't particularly like her car seat
Why did I spend so much money on it???
Ahh well

Dec I'm so glad you got to have a break and your thread was so upbeat it made me smile.
I just had the best moment ever which is committed to memory for the hard times. She was dozing in my arms

OP posts:
bigfam · 05/04/2015 10:37

Posted too soon. Dozing in my arms with her eyes half closed and sort of sucking her tongue but she was smiling and giggling. It was perfect

Ah how lovely bigfam
Quade giggled for the first time yesterday which was lovely, it makes my heart melt Smile. He's been so smiley today, it's been great!
My HV niece weighed him today for me and he's now 15lb so lovely and chunky. He's wearing 6-9m vests and babygros which is mad considering he's not 3 months til Wednesday!!

He slept ok last night again, in fact all the boys had a lie in so we didn't have to get up until 9am!

His hair is really dropping out now, I didn't realise how much he'd lost until I compared these photos! He's going bald lol.

Ah, Dec, your dh sounds very thoughtful and lovely and I'm so glad you got a bit of "you" time. You deserve it!

We've had a great couple of days here. Took ds to a March/rally in Glasgow on Sat which involved several hours in the baby carrier, various modes of transport and some ear defenders and he didn't bat an eyelid and yesterday, as the weather here has been great, we went to a BBQ at dm's which was great fun.

I seem to be lucky as ds will kip anywhere most of the time- although we got some star fairy lights that change colour from ikea for the end of his crib so when we put him down at night he is more interested in them than sleeping!

He was 11 weeks on Sat - time really does fly! He's not been weighed for a while but I'm guessing he's slightly under the 12lb mark - long and skinny like his old man! No giggles but plenty of smiles and my heart melts every time he does it ??

September60b · 06/04/2015 09:22

Glad everyone is having a good weekend!

After a horrible couple of days last week, dd woke up on Saturday a different baby! She's back to her content smily self and she's started going to sleep at 7-8pm ish through to 3-4ish.... And settling in her Moses basket on her own. I don't expect this to last but I am enjoying it for the moment! We must have gone through a developmental leap because she seems to have mastered some new skills. And she's chattering away at every opportunity.

She's been thoroughly spoiled by family this weekend. She's the first baby in the family on my side so it's lovely to see her grandparents/aunties and uncles fawning over every little thing she does. I can't believe how much she's changed since she was born. They're not squashed little babies any more are they? Turning into proper little people!

bigfam · 06/04/2015 09:26

I love little squashed up babies, but do have to admit I'm also smitten with this chunky little monkey. It seriously amazes me how much they grow in mere weeks, but if 1 more person comments that she's 'tiny' I might wring their neck lol

Argh, DD has decided she wants to be a right madam today! She's refusing to nap longer than 20 minutes (usually I can depend on her having a good 2.5-3 hour nap in the middle of the day) and she's had some ENORMOUS nappy explosions, staining her lovely wee Peter Rabbit outfit she was wearing for Easter. She won't sleep anywhere but in a cuddle, and wants fed constantly. I think it's her WW slightly delayed. I'm knackered!

bigfam · 06/04/2015 19:02

Same (sort of) story here, but I'm used to her having little naps all day, but she's been very clingy today in terms of the way she wants to be cuddled, can't help but indulge her though.

OP posts:
bigfam · 06/04/2015 22:13

Just a thought here, the whole exploding nappy thing- well atm she's not having explosions but she's poohing a lot more than usual, like sometimes more than 10 times a day, and I'm pretty sure it's diarrhoea. She had that rotavirus vaccine a couple of weeks ago, could it be just a side effect or could she infact have a milk intolerance, like I first thought? (but now she's not sick anymore because of the aptimal anti reflux, wouldn't she still be bringing the milk up )

I bet this makes no bloody sense^^
Smile

OP posts:
Nesspot · 06/04/2015 22:46

If defo get that checked out Bigfam -10 times a day is a lot of poo! DS will do twice usually although sometimes more, sometimes less. He's always a total grump if he hasn't been for a day or so. Guess his wee tummy hurts then!

bigfam · 07/04/2015 02:33

I did start another thread on it and everyone on it said it was the norm, I did say I didn't think it was diarrhoea though, but now I'm not sure. She'd been in a routine of only poohing a couple of times a day so to increase that much, for me, isn't norm. Plus, none of my others poohed more than a couple of times a day. Thanks for ur advice ness, doc trip tomorrow it is.

Our nurse said to expect more pooey nappies after the rotavirus vaccine
But if it's been a couple of weeks already...maybe get baby checked out.
Dd has changed her body clock now and hardly poos during the day and has her explosions in the night when I can hardly see cz the lights are dimmed!
And she's sleeping in a lot more than before... Currently waiting for her I wake up to get her dressed as we have a friend over at 11.

LittlePink · 07/04/2015 21:53

I'm having pram problems. Ds refuses to lie flat so the phil and teds may have to be sold. He protests so loudly to being in it. On a short walk to the shops today I had to stop about 10 times and get him out 3 times to try to calm him down. Every time I put him back he objected so much that he was getting himself in a right old tiz. He was so over tired by then as it had been 2.5 hours of being awake. When he does nap lately it's only 20 mins here and there and is doing no long stretches of naps. He seems to want to be held all the time. He hates his car seat now too so erupts when put in that and walking round ikea with him In the car seat in the trolley he was having a right hissy fit. Dh had to carry him and he promptly fell asleep on his shoulder. He's so clingy and struggling to settle so it must be a ww again!!

bigfam · 08/04/2015 05:16

Poor u little. Once one ww is over its time for another (or so it feels) hope you've managed to sleep well Flowers

Afternoon all. Hope you have had a better morning little. I'm trying to get dd to nap better. I'm failing miserably! Literally it's half an hour if we are lucky then she's up for ages. She's only having 3 oz at most each feed too which I'm sure is effecting her sleep. Her feeding is definitely not right as she constantly makes a clicking noise and wriggles around as though she is so uncomfortable. She is happy enough in between though so I'm trying not to get too worked up about it. Hope everyone had a good night!
Dd is 14 weeks today! Where has the time gone already?!

bigfam · 08/04/2015 13:15

Dec same here with the napping, I'm sure my neighbours think I've got OCD with how often I put the hoover on! Lo is 10 weeks today. I'm happy to say the poohing seems to be slowing down. The aptimal I'm using is quite tricky to get hold of though, only big supermarkets and pharmacies seem to sell it, I'm in the sticks and there's a few little shops but they don't sell it. Hope everyones enjoying the lovely weather (if you've got it)

DS always naps better when we are out and about. Took the girls to the noisest fun fair ever this afternoon and he slept like a baby. Parden the pun.

bigfam Can you buy it online and get a batch job of it?

bigfam · 09/04/2015 03:41

I'm not sure Eliza, Hmm
Good idea though, I look into it.

Dec1314mummy · 09/04/2015 19:49

bigfam I was going to say try ordering online, great minds think alike Grin
eliza that's great that Ds will sleep when out. Must help a lot having 2 older ones.
Everyone that has more than 2, do you have different age gaps? If so what age gaps have you found easier. Dh is adamant that he wants more children, I'm just not sure and I'm one of these people that needs a life plan! I would love more but since both of mine have been fussy babies and both have allergies/ reflux etc I am concerned that I will hve another and they will be even more severe than Ds, who's allergies I find quite a challenge. I also really want to get on with my career and I don't want to put it on hold any longer, hence why we had them so close anyway. But I do have to admit that I don't feel totally done (well not all of the time) but have found it really hard with 2 babies who are different stages and yet not able to do anything for themselves.
Sorry for the long post..... Again!
Hope everyone is ok Grin

Alyx80 · 09/04/2015 22:52

I have 3 years, then 4 years and then 3 years again. The 3-4 year gap has been great for us as the older children have been more understanding and accepting when I've had to feed baby etc. they've also been at preschool so i could spend time with just baby and I didn't need a double pushchair, could only have one in nappies etc. The only downside is that there's a large gap of 10 years between my oldest and youngest so it's hard doing activities that suit them both. They all love each other though and get on very well most of the time.

We're in Tenerife at the minute and having a lovely time, it's lovely and warm! Quade is feeding all the time as he must be thirsty so I'm confined to the sunbed lol. He seems to be enjoying being somewhere new and slept really well last night from 10.30-6! He's not napping so well in the day though in his pushchair.
