Apparently the other thread is closed. How're nappy explosions going?
Baby bought up a little bit, but I thinks it's because she had a total of 9oz in an hour.

Threenagers bigfam! I've got one of those at the moment. I was shocked at what your mil said to you. That's truly disgusting. I'd find it very difficult to get over being spoken to like that.

Ds was up at 1-2 feeding then dd woke

LittlePink · 28/05/2015 12:12

At 3am crying for water with a temp of 40.6! Her whole body was burning so we spent the next hour running round looking for the fan, calpol, nurofen and generally trying to settle her until she ended up in bed with us but I didn't settle as I was so worried about her temp then Ds woke at 5.30 for another feed but dd wouldn't let me go to him and clung to me bawling her eyes out. I had to peel myself away from a very poorly girl to go and feed Ds who was screaming by this point so dd followed me screaming aswell and sat on top of me while I tried to feed Ds. Worst. Night. Ever!

bigfam · 28/05/2015 12:42

Oh my god little, that's really high. I hope she's feeling better now? I never thought of a threenager, that's spot on.
I am really annoyed with her but I can almost laugh at it, because I know she's never been anything important to my kids (I sound awful but she's the most self centered, selfish woman ever) just today I had to rebook dd2's pre-school injections because I didn't want to take all the kids to the Dr's surgery, I text yesterday and asked if she'd look after the eldest two and she completely ignored me, didn't text back or call or anything but her daughter stayed here Friday night til Sunday Angry

Really hope your lo gets better little and that you have a better time tonight.

That's really horrid bigfam. You just wonder what on earth is wrong with people. I had to get dd to the doctor late yesterday pm with Ds in tow and it was stressful! Dd was lying in my arms in the waiting room virtually asleep while Ds screeched in the waiting room very loudly! So I don't like taking them both in at the same time and usually enlist the help of the in laws if I can but couldn't yesterday as it was an emergency.

September60b · 28/05/2015 17:07

Hope your dd is on the mend now little? Must be so tough when they both need you and you only have one pair of hands!

Dd had me up 5 times in the night for a feed even though I worked really hard on her naps yesterday and got those cracked. Think my longest stretch of sleep was 2 hours and that's because I went to bed at 9pm. I feel surprisingly fine today. I think my body is adjusting to the lack of sleep Smile

We've been out enjoying the sun today before the rain sets in tomorrow. She's taking such an interest in everything that's around her now. It's lovely to see her growing up but it's happening too fast!

Alyx80 · 28/05/2015 21:33

Q is 20 weeks today, I just can't believe it! We've been away for a few days in PIL caravan which was nice and I'm looking forwards to the weekend as it's Q's Christening so should be a nice day.
He's sleeping ok at the minute, last night was a fab 8.30-6.30 but he doesn't have the long naps like he used to. Most of them are about 30 minutes if that, he likes to fall asleep on my shoulder which is lovely.

He's very different to my older boys in that if I offered them the boob they would always take it whereas he makes it very clear that he doesn't want it and will only actually feed when hungry. It feels like he's hardly feeding at all some days!

He's rolled front to back a while ago but hasn't again since and can get on his side from his back but no further just yet - it's probably his fat which is stopping him lol.
He loves the Jumperoo still and has been having a real good bounce in it today, I usually put him in it which I cook the big boys their meals!
Have attached a couple of recent pics Smile

Is it ok if I have a little moan please?

So ds2 was diagnosed with reflux and given gaviscon. I don't know if it makes the milk taste funny or something but it got to the point at the weekend where he was refusing all milk. In desperation I tried him on a carton with no gaviscon which he took fine, and now that's all he will drink! His "reflux" (if he even has it) is loads better on the ready made stuff but it's so bloody expensive!!! He's now totally ravenous at night time and is up constantly to feed. I am so grateful that he's not in pain when feeding but I'm shattered. Ds1 has had a crap half term in front of the TV cos I'm too tired to do anything.

This is the ranting bit. DH is fucking useless in the night. He takes meds for a long term health issue that knock him out. I KNOW it's not his fault but it's driving me mental that I'm up 4/5 times a night while he snores away. He genuinely doesn't hear any of it, even screaming and can't be woken easily at all. He's great with the kids when he's not at work but I'm really starting to resent him now.
Baby has been up since 4 for a feed and won't settle while DH is fast asleep so I'm just feeling sorry for myself really. Had awful pnd with my first and I still take meds now for depression. I had been ok so far but the lack of sleep and night time help is starting to make me slip a little.

Worriedaboutwee · 29/05/2015 05:34

Wow that was an essay sorry.

Dec1314mummy · 29/05/2015 11:13

Sorry to hear you are having a rubbish time worried. Just a thought but is Ds struggling to get the milk out with the gaviscon as it's obviously a lot thicker so gets stuck easily? Sorry if I'm telling you stuff you already know but also try propping the cot up. Dd has 3 books under each leg at one end! I know bigfam has found a change of formula helped her, I'm sure she'll be along soon so can tell you more.
Sorry you're having such a rubbish time. It's so hard having a baby full stop, but add other things into the mix makes it crazy. My Dh never wakes either, he sleeps through everything! It drives me mad! I know totally that feeling of resentment! I posted a few days ago about feeling just that about a work situation. Be easy on yourself! Also be honest with Dh. Dh doesn't totally get it with my work situation, but seeing how much it's upset me has made him try. I've also learnt to take him up a little more when he offers, like he tells me to wake him up if things are really bad. I rarely do, but it's good to know I can if desperate.
Have a Cake and Brew. You're doing a great job!

bigfam · 29/05/2015 12:55

Worried, my lo had reflux and it got to the point where she'd have to be changed numerous times whilst getting her dressed because she kept bringing milk up, I tried the gaviscon which didn't work so tried aptimal anti reflux and regurgitation, I've now switched to cow and gate anti reflux and the difference with both of these thickened milks is unbelievable, I've not had to change an outfit once since using it. You will have to buy slightly faster flow teats though as it's very thick and blocks them quite easily, but I'd definitely recommend trying it worried, as for the rant it's what we're here for xx

How is your lo now little? Hope everything's ok?

What a gorgeous little chunk alyx, so scrummy!

I have no experience of reflux worried but that sounds really tough.

My dh also sleeps through everything. He asks me every morning how the night was because he literally sleeps through everything! You are fully entitled to feel resentful. Lack of sleep is a horrible thing. I see it as a good excuse to consume extra calories during the day to make up for it Smile

Worriedaboutwee · 29/05/2015 13:39

It's so odd! If I make up a bottle of powder and boiled water formula he screams in agony and will take 1-2oz, with the carton stuff he will have 5-6oz barely any discomfort! Guess I'll stick with what's working at the min dispite it costing so much!
GP and HV also advised early weaning (19 weeks) as his milk intake was so low and that's going really well so that's a positive, he loves what he had so far!

I hope everyone and their babies are all ok.

bigfam · 29/05/2015 17:20

Worried give the anti reflux milk a go and see if it works. Does he still bring up the already made milk? I found that milk even worse because it seems so much thinner, so that's a bit odd especially if it is reflux.

OP posts:
Worriedaboutwee · 29/05/2015 17:43

Nope he seems pretty much recovered on the ready made milk which makes no sense! Not needing the gaviscon with it. The only side effect is he's been constipated until today but has had a massive clear out with 4 poos today! He's on sma gold, is their comfort milk the same as anti reflux milk or do you think I should carry on with that im doing? Never had these prolems with my first, he didn't sleep either but was a milk monster with no reflux!!

bigfam · 29/05/2015 18:29

I think sma do an anti reflux formula aswell, can't hurt to try it. The ready made milk costs an arm and a leg!! None of my others had reflux either, so it was a first for me too.

OP posts:
bigfam · 29/05/2015 18:31

Don't think sma comfort is the same as anti reflux, I'll have a goosey

Thank you for all your help and advice today

Dec1314mummy · 29/05/2015 19:13

Think dd must be teething or something. After her d&v thing earlier in the week, she's now taking a max of 15oz over 24 hrs.... Slightly worried but she's been a lot happier today and has wet nappies! We have tried weaning, she's not impressed! Ds loved his milk and food (well once we had all the reflux and allergies sorted) so it's all a bit different for me. Dd is definitely not a skinny baby though!

Worriedaboutwee · 29/05/2015 19:33

Going to have a look into the anti-reflux milks, sma one has to be given at room temp and he will only take warm (likes it really warm won't touch it when it's cooled at all) so will do some research! Thanks again all

bigfam · 29/05/2015 19:54

Love chunky babies Dec, as long as you're both happy and well that's good.

Worried when u make up the feeds with anti reflux u wait 45 minutes rather than 30 minutes like with the normal formula milks, it says to wait for it to thicken after cooling too but I don't, honestly it's thick enough. I hope it works for your lo like it has mine. Fingers crossed!

Thanks bigfam yer I'm trying not to get too worried but it for now. She's always been rubbish at taking a lot at once anyway!
Just noticed we are at the end of the thread so here is a new one!

mzzzpiggy · 13/09/2015 13:49

Hi all,
Is there anyone on here in mid Cornwall? I'm looking to meet mums with similar age babies in real life. Thanks XXX
