Apparently the other thread is closed. How're nappy explosions going?
Baby bought up a little bit, but I thinks it's because she had a total of 9oz in an hour.

Alyx thank you. A milk blister is exactly what I've got. I looked at the picture on the link you sent and that's what I've got on the nipple. It is on the breast ive always had an over supply. It's excruitiatingly painful when he feeds on it but I just grit my teeth, curl my toes and feed through it. Can't believe I've gone 4 months with no problems (apart from him having thrush in the early days but it didn't affect me) and now this.

Elizadoesdolittle · 01/05/2015 23:23

chi I know what you mean about the bras. I wore a proper bra out the other day and it felt so good. totally worth introducing formula for Grin

Nesspot · 02/05/2015 06:27

Oh god, DS is driving me mad! He's usually a pretty good sleeper, going from 9pm-4am, then 4am-7am but last night he wouldn't settle at all. Was still awake at 11pm, then again 1am-3.30am. Brought him into bed with me and he slept on and off til 6am. I'm knackered. He's also learned how to make this horrible whiney noise which he makes ALL THE TIME!!! And he won't take a full bottle so he's needing fed more often.

I've had hardly any sleep and I'm in a stinker of a mood. Have friends staying over later too - that should be fun ??

LittlePink · 02/05/2015 07:06

If it's any consolation ness the same thing is going on here too. Ds was up at 3-3.30 then 4.30-5.30 then 6.10-6.30 and he's asleep next to me in bed now. He wouldn't even settle in bed with me at 4.30 so I struggled with him for an hour and gave up and put him back in his cot where he just chattered away loudly while I jammed some ear plugs in feeling exasperated!

Nesspot · 02/05/2015 07:22

Aw Little, what are they doing to us?! I'm like a zombie. I've plonked ds in his bouncy chair. Hopefully he'll nod off but I'm not hopeful.

I'd be much happier if dh wasn't lying in bed with a hangover too!

bigfam · 02/05/2015 07:49

Ness u should record the baby whilst he whines then play it on a loop right next to his head on the pillow! Mwahaha Grin

Just chilling here

In fact I just remembered he was feeding at 2 aswell. Gah!

LittlePink · 02/05/2015 07:55

I've popped him in the swing watching Cinderella with Dh and dd. I've managed a shower in peace. Already looking forwards to an early night and I haven't even started the day yet!

Pesto11 · 02/05/2015 08:28

Why does dd hate my right boob?!!!
Wriggles and squirms and clamps her lips tight till I give her left boob!

Pesto11 · 02/05/2015 10:15

Oh no
Hoping you guys have a chilled out day as you're feeling knackered already
Dd had jabs and is not feeling great
Woke up at 7.30 and we are still in bed as she's fallen asleep on me and I don't want (too scared) to move!!

bigfam · 02/05/2015 11:46

Pesto, my lo had jabs Wednesday but today is quite miserable and clingy. I guess I'll sit on the sofa all day and cuddle her then. I blitzed the house yesterday so can get away with only vacuuming, cooking and washing up today. Hope everyone else gets a break

Well I think I've moaned enough about the lack of sleep here but I'm sorry slightly relieved to hear you're all going through the same!

If it's any consolation, dd slept from 9-3.00, 3-6 and then 6.30 till 7.45 last night so it could be a sign of things improving. Or it could be that she was so shattered after yesterday because she refused to sleep from 4pm onwards....

Little I had a milk blister that thankfully cleared on it's own. I just kept feeding from that as much as possible. Bloomin painful though.

Jabs next week so I'm not looking forward to those.

bigfam · 02/05/2015 16:36

Miserable lo today, so I've had a movie marathon....

That's so rotten that you're all having sleep problems Sad. DD has started waking more frequently at night but thankfully she still settles quickly.
Had my first 'day out' without DD today! Out between 8.45am and 3.30pm, leaving her with DH and his DM. She had three bottles of formula and loved it! I missed her so much and now I'm getting a cuddle Smile.

Dec1314mummy · 02/05/2015 23:02

Sorry to hear about everyones sleep problems. Dd's sleep was terrible for weeks and naps were unheard of. She is better, it's varies day to day though. A bad night is 6 wakings, a very good night is one (that's only happened once). On average she wakes about 3/4 times. Her naps are improving. She's napping in her cot now and has 3/4 naps a day which are between 20 mins to 2 hours (again ha only happened a couple of times). This is an amazing improvement on 10/15 min cat naps though. She has been super clingy though this week almost back to he newborn state of refusing to put down. She screamed blue murder if not on me for the first 8 weeks and she's started getting very upset again if I put her down or she goes to someone else when she's not in the mood.
Ds has his new bed and dd has now got the cot. Ds lived his bed but got very upset when we left him to sleep last night. It's actually because he wanted to play as it's a car bed! In the end I lay down in it and pretended to be asleep and he came and curled up next to me and drifted off. It was so so lovely as he's never done that before. I would so love to have co slept with them but I was always to scared to. Ds loved the freedom of her cot too. She has gone from being r far to big for the basket and looking huge, to looking like a little dot in the cot! So cute.
I spent all day yesterday putting all the new furniture up whilst Dm helped with the kids and now I've lost the garage key. It's really stressing me out as the house is now full of boxes etc and I hate clutter. I have a new wardrobe and chest of drawers to put up too. I'm normally obsessed with sorting everything as soon as I get chance, but the hours of looking for the blessed key have dampened my enthusiasm today! So hoping it turns up tomorrow but Dh, Dm, Df and I have all searched for about 2 hours today with no joy so lord knows where it's got to. I'm so angry that in my haste to get if all finished, I didn't put it back in it's place straight away! Arggghhh!
Hope everyone has a better night tonight Grin

bigfam · 03/05/2015 02:28

I hate (really truly) assembling anything, since being here I've done two beds and a wardrobe and I was so angry at the end of it, my patience was non existent. you sound like a saint Dec because whenever I loose something I give up after 5 mins then sit there grumpy and nearly in tears!

OP posts:
LittlePink · 03/05/2015 07:26

Assembling things makes me feel sick. I hate it. All the screws and difficult instructions to follow ugh. I once put a bed up on my own and it took me 6 hours. Scarred me for life.

Sleep is dreadful here. I've got a cold and cough and still battling with this milk blister. So I can't sleep through feeds as its too painful.

What is everyone thinking about putting them in their own rooms? I'm starting to consider it as it makes me wonder if we're unsettling him at night. Dd was in her own room much earlier on and slept so much better than ds. I don't know if it's because she had complete peace and quiet. I had an angel care monitor which gave me peace of mind. I found ds half way around in his cot with his head against the bars at some point during the night so that was one of the wake ups but he didn't re settle after that for a good while. Don't even know what time that was but it was still dark and I was feeling atrocious and very frustrated by then!

Come back sleep I miss you!

bigfam · 03/05/2015 09:14

I can't put baby in her own room if I wanted to, we've only got three bedrooms. She is really good at self settling at night aswell so I think it would work. I might get her a junior bed with a guard to go in my room, so she can get used to sleeping all night alone for when she moves into her sisters room. Last night she fell asleep at 7pm til 2.30am, quick feed, then back to sleep til 6.30am.

I love building Ikea flat pack lol. I built two wardrobes for our room when I was pregnant!

My other boys all stayed in with us for about 10 months or so but not sure when we'll move Q as we've run out of bedrooms lol. We should be starting our extension this summer to get two extra bedrooms so all boys can have their own rooms so he'll be moved when it's finished. He had a good night last night sleeping 9pm to 7am with a 20 minute feed at 5am. He's just gone back down for a nap so going to get the other boys ready now to go out for Sunday lunch.

Have attached a little collage I made of my four boys as newborns, until I didn't it I didn't realise how alike Q and ds2 look! I find it quite funny that DS1 is also bald compared to the others and it doesn't look like there's nearly 4lb difference between DS1 and Q!!

LittlePink · 03/05/2015 09:35

Omg yes they are so alike! What beautiful boys you have. I bet they will be great company for each other.

Everyone says how alike my two are but I can't see it. Sometimes how he looks when he sleeps he looks like dd but a lot of people say the sibling resemblance is amazing. Wish I could see it!

LittlePink · 03/05/2015 09:53

One of ds yesterday. Dh took him out and sent me the pic to say look he's asleep. Ds sleeping really??? And 2 of my two little rascals.

Eliza you said your dd2 was a bottle refuser. Did she ever take one? And how long did you bf her for? Did she go straight onto sippies at 1 year? Or did she take one with milk from 6 mths? I want to give up bfing at 6 mths but I have no idea how I'll get milk into him. Dd only started holding cups and using straws at 10 mths. Those sippies are so messy. I can't imagine getting a good milk feed into him through one of those at 6 mths!

Elizadoesdolittle · 03/05/2015 10:18

littlepink my DD2 was an extreme case. I bf up till around 9/10 months but as she wasn't gaining weight she had to be topped up via ng tube between 3 and 7 months. I had to start weaning at 17wks too. She did get small amounts of milk via a open cup but like you said was very slow and very messy! She had it from a spouted sippy cup at around 9 months and randomly started having a bottle at around 18 months when most people are trying to wean their babies off them!

Alyx80 · 03/05/2015 10:34

I haven't bothered giving Q a bottle so he probably wouldn't take one but I've had an appointment through for his hip scan and it says to bring a bottle (formula or expressed). Has anyone else had one on their little ones? Will probably not bother and let them tell me off lol, I can't imagine he'll lie still at all anyway!

bigfam · 03/05/2015 11:47

I did a collage aswell. It's got an older pic if my one and only boy on because he didn't resemble the others when he was a baby.
