Addicted there was no way I was showing my stitches again Grin

LO is so sicky from tea time each night, glad now that we have loads of 0-3 outfits and bibs people told me I had too many originally.

Dh is away again this week and being payday I need to do the bigshop, something I normally enjoy but never done it with both children before, ds1 wants to make crispy cakes so I have bribed him that we can if he is good in shopGrin

Anyone else feeling sad at how time is flying? LO is 10 weeks this week, everyone keeps saying how grown up ds1 is, it makes me so sad as 10 weeks ago he was my baby and now he is grown up

Will the talents of my son never cease?! Last night he managed a very neat 'possett' right down my cleavage so that it collected in my bra Shock
On the other hand I've managed to clear his cupboard of the 0-3 stuff, wash all the 3-6, sort and put away. He's not even 8 weeks yet! Some friends with 2 boys dropped in a bag of clothes for our LO and I sent them away with our newborn / up to 1 month stuff as his brother had a preemie a couple of weeks ago. It felt kinda sad sending his stuff off already but we've been given so much it is only right to keep the circle going. And it saves having to store stuff.
Good luck for the interview Lancs Thanks

Geeky i'm glad mine isn't the only lo out of 0-3 before 8 weeks. We never even put him in newborn or up to 1mth. I mixed the vests last night and he had a 0-3mth on. He woke with marks on his arms where they were too tight Hmm

Geeky my girl greeted me this morning by puking on herself then coughing the last bits in my face. She may have gotten some in daddy's pillow. Grin

donkir I think it's scary that LO was only 6lb 14oz at birth, wore newborn and up to 1 month for about 3 weeks before going into 1-3's and is now moving on again at 7 and a bit weeks Shock We've got stuff he hasn't worn. They keep saying you can't overfeed a bf baby but I'm starting to wonder!
PS - has anyone else's MIL been intelligent enough to buy a Christmas jumper in size 3-6?! Cos it was in the sale!!

hazzer - We've noticed a massive improvement in the nighttime groaning and grunting since we've had LO on 1ml Ranitidine three times a day. He still has a few strains, but putting that down to gas... he doesn't like letting go of his wind at all.

HV came round this morning - he's on the 91st centile for height and weight, bang on for both! Pleased, even if he is a big fella! HV reckons he might be quite tall, which I think is nice... the only parent of DH or me that's tall was my late Father. The thought that he'll have something genetic from my Dad is really comforting.

Frenetic I so need some of that rinitidine, the night time grunting keeps us all awake. Going to docs next week. They so can not deny that I haven't given the other stuff a try by then! He's started being sick more now too so I know it's reflux, it's just persuading them!

freneticfox · 31/03/2015 20:35

I videoed the noises and showed my GP, he could then see I wasn't exaggerating!

Feel nauseated again tonight, starting to wonder if it's my increased ADs dose.

Report
GeekyHybrid · 31/03/2015 22:06

I videoed the noises too but the sound level is really low on my phone. And his monster weight gains mean the GP dismisses reflux. Seeing a different one next week and I think I've got some better video examples now, especially of the straining. Just thinking with the nausea, when OH caught my cold he was complaining of nausea for about 3 days. But it could also be AD's - my sister has recently been changing doses on some of hers and has actually been throwing up in the mornings :-( Darn complicated trying to get AD's at the right level.

Just had a poonami here and LO wee'd and threw up as I was changing him! Was fun trying to deal with output from all three orifices whilst trying to tackle an octopus! Still hopefully he'll have gotten it all out of the way before we visit nanny and granddad later this morning wearing his first non vest/sleep suit clothes. What are the odds?

We are all full of a bad cold here. Means we've had hardly any sleep (up with toddler and baby not being well). I just want to go back to bed and its only 9am. Its going to be a long day.

Madam HV is coming this morning - DS has his toottoot garage and track out, his small train track and his playhouse - going by last time no doubt she'll comment on the mess. Im really not in the mood.

frenetic definitely worth speaking to gp incase it is a side effect. Hopefully if it is they can give an alternative AD.

geeky if they still won't listen demand a referral to paediatrician for second opinion.

DS grew like yours. He was born 7lb2oz wore newborn for a few weeks, then 0-3, the 3-6. At 3months he went into 6-9 and he stayed a full size ahead until 2yrs.

Oh no grinning fingers crossed its all out LO's system now Grin

We went to bed last night at 11.30 I had a shower and when I came out LO had dozed back off and he woke at 4.30am! Then slept until 6.30 had a poo and dropped back off for an hour.
Just dressed him and as I did up the neck he vommed, I don't think he approves of outfits he does it more on days I attempt that over a babygrow Grin

Taking them out today to a pottery cafe where they paint onto plates and stuff wondering if LO will let me take his footprint, we measured his feet against ds1's print taken at same age and ds1's footprint ends before LO's toes begin, his feet are HUGE Shock

Geeky my friends baby is 5 months old she is a little chunk and threw up every feed and screamed in pain almost constantly for first 4 months her gp was crap too he gave her gaviscon and when it didn't work he said well she is putting weight on so live with it Shock
No thinking of pain poor babies are in or sleep deprivation of the mum.
She ended up weaning her at 17 weeks and it mostly sorted it, I weaned ds1 at 17 weeks as my old gp was just as useless. We are lucky as Gaviscon seems to be working mostly.

Good luck keeping the clothes clean grinning. I hate to say but you'll need it! Twice we've tried to get LO over to IL's in a dungaree set they bought him, I've purposely not put it on him until the last minute and twice he's managed to vom or pee on it! He's got one more chance, it's a 0-3 so it's this weekend or not at all, and even then it'll be a squeeze.

whyo I'd tell the HV where to go, just my personal take on it. I feel they should be grateful if there's room on the sofa for them to sit never mind anything else ;-D Luckily for me my HV appointment is a day OH happens to be off, and it's well after Easter.

Thanks everyone for reassurance on LO and his reflux. I do think it's off that the professionals seem to think that LO's pain / discomfort and my sleep deprivation are irrelevant compared to whether he is gaining weight or not. But trust me, I'm not going to be fobbed off, again. (Says mantra style several times!) I've given their ideas a fair trial but I really do think it's time they listened. Roll on next Tuesday.

LO is stirring for a feed, not quite 3 hours since the last but hey ho. Better than when he was trying to demand one an hour ago, it took all our efforts to put him off and get him to nap until now. He really is a hungry little thing :-/ Catch you all later.

WhyO jope it went ok, I would have made sure my house was a complete shithole to see if she commented again Grin

Geeky I hope MIL isn't expecting to see LO in the crap she bought him it all went back, massive socks, pink vests with flowers on and a 0-3 tshirt and short set, she has no idea at all!

Been to paint studio, LO slept through it, my friends toddler was eating the paint Grin I was laughing my head off then realised this will be me in a year

Ain't babies grand, Memphis!

I'm in a stupid amount of pain.. I bit into a biscuit and instantly almost passed out from pain in my tooth. Ow times a thousand. Now waiting for DH to get home from work so I can hot foot it to the dentist.

Feeling very sorry for myself, I loathe the dentist even though mine is a lovely guy!

Shes been. Seemed much nicer today and even read a story with DS whilst I was undressing DD (he did pretty much demand she did). Maybe she'd just had a really shitty day last time.

There was nearly a weighing disaster - HV had put scales up against leg of bouncer, so when I put DD down the scales didn't weigh properly and were basically back at her birth weight! I noticed bouncer leg so moved it away and had to lift DD for HV to zero the scales again.

DD has only gained 6oz in 2weeks. I don't get it. She feels like she's gained a lot in the last week. It means she's dropped nearly another centile to just above 50th and that means HV is coming out to me again in 3weeks! Wish they'd just let me take her to clinic.

Tbh I really don't know how to take all this weight stuff. Going by genetics DD's expected to be very tall, so also high on weight centiles, yet she's dropping down and is now nearly at 50th for weight (born on 98th, dropped to 75th by the time she'd regained birth weight). Shes a very happy, content baby. Plus she settles and sleeps well but is also very alert when shes awake. I really don't know what to think.

Memphis I know I shouldn't laugh but you did describe it in a funny way! It happens to us all at some point.

geeky have you got some nice pics of LO in said dungarees? At least then you could perhaps email over some pics of LO and include the dungaree ones to show he's been wearing it.

grinning hope the outfit lasted!

DD seems to only like girly clothes - they last a couple of days - until I think hmmm you've had that on a while id better change it. Neutrals, however, only last a couple of hours at most before she sicks up or has a poonami on them. Even my mom commented its only on the neutrals!

memphis that's 2 giggles you've given me. Luckily my MIL wasn't daft enough to buy anything pink but even OH said something sarcastic when she handed over the Christmas jumper. I was too busy trying to control my face Shock
whyo I'm glad it went better today with the HV. I'd try not worry too much about weight, they do all grow at different rates. The way it's going my littly is going to be a chubs and your chubs is going to be average Grin As long as they're happy kids who cares?! And yes to photos, I've literally just got a shot of him in another pressie before he outgrows it. IL's dungarees will hopefully be dry by this evening.

Yay the outfit lasted and he's still in it. Looks really grown up in it. Can't believe he is already 5 weeks. Where did March go? Had a nice time at PIL and even managed a very brief visit to DH at work. Smile

We went to sil for tea and LO vommed all over her, down her back, in her hair and down her brand new £££ dining chairs then went mums and he did the same to her,. Dressed him for bed there and brought him home expecting him to be fast off and put straight to bed but he is cooing and wide awake.

The gaviscon was working fab, going to up dose to see if it stops vomming as this is a recent thing, if not, docs next week for something else I reckon.

I hear you all with the frustration over the obsession with weight above all else health professionals seem to have. Our hv had a massive go at us because DS started dropping through the centiles once weaned. He was always healthy and happy and they never could answer what exactly they wanted us to do. We couldn't force feed him. Anyway he's still somewhere near the bottom of the chart and perfectly fine.

It seems dd is another bottle refuser. I really really wanted to avoid this this time around. I find it really frustrating being tied to her until she is weaned. We introduced the bottle when she as only 2 days old to try to get her used to it and it still hasn't worked. Hmm

2 bottles later he is still awake, drops off on me then grunts and cries once down, had so many bits I wanted to do tonight too. Just swaddled him and he seems to be relaxing.

I honestly think he knows when dh and ds aren't here he always seems fussy on a Wednesday. He cried when he heard dh on facetime tonight.
