Slightly off topic but had anyone else had trouble getting on to Facebook today? Not sure if it's just my phone nothing to do with me dropping it down the toilet accidently the other weekend, no no

Grinningcat · 08/04/2015 17:39

I haven't had any problems with it.

GeekyHybrid · 08/04/2015 18:00

Sorry tired, facebook has been fine today. There was a problem with the messenger android app the other day and I had to reload the app to get it working again. Saying that my phone hasn't been updating fb that well today, so I am mostly on PC, I assumed it was our wifi (which can be moody) but I've just checked on the phone and it's working fine now.

tiredvommachine · 08/04/2015 21:46

After id posted, I came across a thread in Chat saying about problems with FB on android so luckily wasn't just my phone.
In other news, I had the afternoon out with my MIL and LO which was pleasant and took up a good chunk of time.
LO demolished nearly 4oz formula at 8 pm and then got stroppy at about 9 (when I'd been in the bath for 20 mins Sad) and wouldn't settle so I had to get out and we are now in bed and he's had both boobs too. He's just fallen asleep on my shoulder and I have high hopes of a decent block of full belied sleep for him tonight.
Fingers crossed!
Here's to a good night for all Flowers

GeekyHybrid · 08/04/2015 22:23

Good luck tired, he should sleep after all that! Sounds like the android fb apps have been having a bit of a wobble! I wrote it off as my wifi today.

I'm hoping mine will also sleep. He became very fractious after tea, not really sure why, this is the second evening in a row he seems to want to do nothing but feed. He managed to enjoy his bath at 7.30 but kicked off almost straight away again. I then fed him from 8 til 9.30, he kinda fell asleep on the boob but as soon as I tried to move he was securely latched! Finally got him down in his basket. In the meantime OH climbed straight into bed at 8 ish - admittedly he's up at 4.30 but... Point being the gas is going to be off tomorrow, so no hot water, so the dishes need doing and it's not like I can catch up tomorrow. Not that this would have occurred to him. Grrr. Men. So guess what I've been doing the last half hour! Treating myself to a hot chocolate and a wind down before crawling into bed myself. I haven't heard anything from upstairs (touch wood) so hopefully... Sorry for monster post!

tiredvommachine · 09/04/2015 01:33

Three hours. Three measly bloody hours! Angry
geeky you have my sympathies. Sounds about right!
Am feeding but feel really sick. Hoping it's just tiredness and nothing more ominous.

LancashireTea · 09/04/2015 03:19

I have a whingy baby tonight. I may murder oh if he carries on stropping that she's in with us. But I am tired and got sick of getting up every two minutes to deal with her. Sad

I wonder if anyone will miss him... Hmm

tiredvommachine · 09/04/2015 04:49

You'd certainly have more space in the bed then Lancashire
Wink

GeekyHybrid · 09/04/2015 05:16

Ladies you have my sympathy. I have been very lucky tonight, he slept all the way until OH's alarm at 4.30. This means for the first time in ages I'm feeding in bed, and he vommed! Luckily I caught most of it with a muzzy and the rest on my PJ's. Sat here with a damp cold patch Hmm but will not complain. And we'll just have to see what tomorrow night brings.

tweety89 · 09/04/2015 05:53

LO's feeding schedule has been a killer tonight (at least for me...). He fed at 7.15 pm, OH went to bed around 9ish, I woke LO around 10pm for the dream feed (he didn't manage to drink anything at all even though I changed him 3 times -pooed twice while I was changing him- and even changed his clothes once), put him to bed around 11ish and then he woke up at 1.30 for OH. If I was my OH I'd say we have the dream baby. Oh well, he's not really behaving for mummy as he woke up at 3am to feed (AGAIN!!) and I've been up since because I'm really too tired and annoyed to close my eyes...

Hours slept: 2.5 :( :( :(

trukevoli · 09/04/2015 06:32

From reading all of your posts I am wondering if my LO is sleeping well or not. I have been assuming he is but am now not so sure.

He comes to bed when I do, always about 10 and he will get to sleep about 11.40 as he is generally alot fussier at this time. He then wakes at about 2.30/3 and is awake for 20 minutes for a change and feed. Then back down until 6/6.30ish.

He is 7 weeks and has been pretty much doing this since 2 weeks unless he has a bad night.

GeekyHybrid · 09/04/2015 07:35

truk sounds fine, and if it's been the 'routine' for that long it's obviously what suits you and your LO. I personally wouldn't change just because it didn't match someone else's routine / expectations etc.
I'm about to move but really don't want to. LO is asleep on my chest having cuddles after waking himself with a small vom 15 minutes ago. But they turn off my gas in half an hour so best get some hot water whilst I can. Murphy's law in action, he never sleeps this late normally Shock

thingsarelookingup · 09/04/2015 07:52

Truk that sounds better than my 8 week old who I also consider to be a good sleeper. She is my second and sleeps well enough for me to feel fine everyday so that is a good sleeper in my opinion. Ella sleeps from about 10 until 2 or 3, is awake about an hour with feeding and nappy change then wakes once or twice more before we are up at 6 or 7 when my eldest gets up.

Addictedtocustardcreams · 09/04/2015 07:53

Everyone is still asleep in my house! Had a better night last night as LO put in a 4 hour sleep stint - good feed then back down again. Hopefully growth spurt is passing as really needed that extra sleep. Hit a bit of a wall tiredness wise yesterday lunchtime. Sympathies to those who are also suffering with feeling knackered! DH has permanently retreated to the spare room at the moment. This is on the understanding that at no point does he complain of feeling tired or I may kill him!
Anyway had better as would love to be still asleep with the rest of them but have someone from a nanny agency coming to see us this morning about childcare when I am back at work & want to make sure house is decent!

blankfornames · 09/04/2015 08:47

Truk...that's a very obliging baba you have there!!

Rant Alert, as Im ebf I have very little me time as DS doesnt rarely naps during the day. DH announced when he got in from work that he was going out to catch up with his brother who lives away. He was gone about 2 hrs. When he came back a friend in need beaconed and he was gone again. In fairness I didnt mind that. So I have had a non napping DS all day on my own. So I asked him to stay awake while I feed DS, i got 20 mins out of him before he fell asleep. I was then awake till 1.30 settling DS while he was fast asleep beside me. So frustrating.
This morning I asked DH to take DS for a walk while I treated myself to a shower (!!) and I wanted to tidy the upstairs while they were gone and while I had the chance. DH insisted on doing 20 mins exercise (which he seems to always have time for). That then cut the time for a walk short. Still haven't had my shower and DH is about to set off to work. Our neighbours are getting work done next door so it's going to be noisy all day. Grrrr!

Am I on my own with these frustrations?

Memphisbelly · 09/04/2015 09:55

truk sounds good to me. ds goes down about 10 until 1.30 then up again at 4.30 he is 11 weeks and been waking mostly like this since day 1.

blanks I feel your pain. dh worked away so gets 3 meals a day made for him, time for a run and haircut and a nice hotel to get 9 solid hours kip he came home last night and did bath and feed ds but in night 'I have to be up at 4.30' so told him to sod off into ds1s room. im now at work shattered as from 4.30 LO didn't sleep.....until we had to leave

tweety89 · 09/04/2015 11:29

your LO seems to be sleeping fine truk. And it's great that he's only awake for 20 minutes to change and feed..I wish! Because of his silent reflux, baby Jason needs to be held upright for about 20-30 minutes... :( And he's starting to get used to it... :(

Obviously after such a night he's been sleeping well until now. I wish DD was at school to get some sleep. [sleepy after 2 coffees...going for the third)

tweety89 · 09/04/2015 11:34

blank and memphis mine doesn't really go out a lot (apart from work and not even as he sometimes works from home), but he always seems to be very tired and falls asleep (unless he asks for...something else! lol) so at the moment, even with a newborn he's been sleeping really well. To be fair to him he does get out with DD (4.5 yo) and keeps her occupied, so I shouldn't really complain..but I still nag like hell...Blush

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 09/04/2015 12:46

Please wish me luck at Drs this afternoon. I'm going to get DD a referral to allergy consultant.

She has horrendously gunky eyes still - its been 6.5weeks, with only 3gunk free days and 2small amount of gunk days, the rest huge globs of gunk, eyelashes completely covered, etc, despite cleaning multiple times a day with cooled boiled water. Swabs showed no infection. I believe its allergy related, they have been dismissing it as newborn blocked tear ducts.

She also keeps getting a rash - no temperature or anything. They dismissed it as viral, but she's had no temperature and it keeps coming back, then going, then coming back.

She also keeps being very very snuffly - like she's got a permenant cold. At first I dismissed it as a cold, now I think its been going on far too long to be an actual cold.

Then there's the problems I had when I attempted to move her to formula - projectile vomiting, loads of spit ups inbetween, extremely windy, colicy and upset/unsettled. Plus the horrendous dry skin she got with it - really sore looking. All those symptoms cleared up when we stopped the formula.

There's also her lack of weight gain - i know it can be normal for babies to drop from 98th to 50th but it doesn't seem right generically for her to do that - both length and weight have done it. DH is 6'3, I'm 5'10. My brothers are all over 6', (tallest is 6'6), my dad is 6'5, mom is short for our family, at 5'8. It doesn't feel quite right.

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 09/04/2015 12:57
  • genetically not generically
Memphisbelly · 09/04/2015 14:04

WhyO good luck my gp won't allergy test until 2 yearsShock Shock they justade me cut everything out with Ds1. do you have pets? I was told streaming eyes in babies is normally pet or pollen

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 09/04/2015 15:01

No pets atm (my ponies are living with my mom, so I'm not coming into contact with them).

Her eyes are like it regardless of us going out or not, so I was thinking probably not pollen?

The fact she reacted so badly to formula makes me think its food related but not necessarily cow milk protein, maybe something else in formula that's maybe passing through bm when I eat it.

From what I've read eyes and nose can react to food allergy too but its far less common and indicative of a more severe allergy.

tiredvommachine · 09/04/2015 15:07

Good luck why x

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 09/04/2015 18:30

Got a referral to paediatrician. Although Dr tried to tell me it was normal for babies to react so badly to formula. Confused

tiredvommachine · 09/04/2015 19:31

That's rubbish! Oh it makes me so mad when you're fobbed off. Especially when it's to do with children Angry
