Well, DD seems to roll from front to back when I put her down for tummy time. But I don't count it as a skill more like being plain lazy. She has never been massive fan of tummy time and now that she is so noisy its a torture.

TwigletFiend · 09/04/2015 11:05

Shit night here too. Karma after she slept through two nights ago probably! Up every two hours, wouldn't settle in the cot. Ended up spending most of the night in bed with me, which means I hardly sleep as I sleep between DP and DD to make sure she's safe from being squashed. Sadly means I'm shoved up against DP who is like an oven - even with duvet off it's so fucking sweaty unpleasant.

Off to get DD weighed this week. Don't know if anyone shops in Tesco but they had packs of fruit purée (100% fruit, no additives) on offer that have a date til about October on them in our local shop. Bought some as figured they would be convenient in case of a lack of time or emergency supply needed once she's weaned! Going to try a bit of banana in her fruit bag this afternoon and see how we get on.

Annarose2014 · 09/04/2015 11:27

I also discovered something unexpected last night - DS refuses to sleep with us!

I haven't had him in the bed since I stopped bfing at 10 wks but last night I was desperate for him to settle and thought it might work. He was so uncomfortable and squirmed until I put him back in his cot where he instantly relaxed. Shock

Floopledoop · 09/04/2015 12:40

Thanks for the bib recommendations everyone.

He slept 9 hours straight last night, then fed abs back down for another 3 hours. Just had a 2 hour nap too.

However, only just manages to roll on his side on the playmat when he's reaching for one of the hanging toys. That's it, non other movement. Sleeping obviously takes up a lot of energy or he's incredibly lazy like his mother

Thanks for the highchair info too. Will keep an eye out for a second hand stokke. Might be a bit big for our house now but we are planning on moving in the next year I recon

omama · 09/04/2015 19:51

Slings - we have a connecta which is great & folds up fairly small to pop in my bag for days out. Also have a lenny lamb ssc which is lovely & very comfortable. Oh & got a ring sling on the way too! Gets a bit addictive!

High chairs - we have a cosatto one, good for early weaning as tips back & has a younger baby insert, but bit faffy to clean. If I had my time again I'd get an antilop.

DD has been poorly for last few days, fever & cough/cold so very whingey, hardly napped & screamy bedtimes. She's hardly napped for nearly 2 weeks while ds has been on hols (wont sleep in sling) & is mega mega overtired. typically because we were off out this morning she pulled the longest nap ever in her cot (slept over an hour) & I had to wake her up. Long may it continue!

Prop her on her side. Works here.

Arkkorox · 10/04/2015 08:50

Thanks anna that worked!

She was totally knackered after a whole day of crap naps, slept 10-6 ( though the first hour didn't sound terribly restful! Had 6oz and went back down till half 8!

ark that sounds horrible. We have the same here. I will try putting him in his side tonight.

Spent the afternoon at NCT friend's house. She has a jumperoo for her boy. DS had a go and loved it. Hmmm. We have a door bouncer but you need to occupy him at the same time. The Jumperoo was very interesting for him. x

Floopledoop · 10/04/2015 18:14

Babyyfloople has started teething. He is sad and not his usual chirpy smiley self. Been on calpol today and just had some nurofen (is that baby crack?!) also got dentinox gel and Ashton and Parsons powder. Been going on since Wednesday I now realise. He has slept well last two nights though. Poor boy, hate to see him upset and in pain.

omama · 10/04/2015 19:42

Think we are teething here too floople. DD is drooling tons, chomping on anything she can get her mouth on & generally ratty.

In more positive news, she slept 1.5hrs in her cot this morning & 2hrs in her pram this avo. most successful nap day in ages. Though now she is screaming in her cot :-(

haventgotaclue1 · 10/04/2015 20:31

Floople and Omama, we'll also join your teething club! It's been going on for a few weeks now (which I'm quite surprised about as DD is only just over 4 months) - lots of dribbling; flushed cheeks; very stinky nappies (absolutely honk of vinegar Hmm); and I'm astounded she still has all her fingers attached to her hands she's been chomping on them so much - have tried teething rings but she's not interested and to be fair, they all see way to big to fit in her mouth.... Still can't actually see any teeth though...

haventgotaclue1 · 11/04/2015 06:35

Morning all! Lucky me was treated to a game of pirates (lots of "aargh" noises) & a "singing lesson" at 3am & dd was wide awake and grinning like there was no tomorrow. Am putting it down to teething....only way I could get some sleep was to feed dd. Then she got hiccups Hmm. Still, it seems that she managed to self settle herself back to sleep and it sounds like she is still asleep now (she's in her own room! ) Smile

Annarose2014 · 11/04/2015 06:50

We've had that concert since 5.15. Sad I gave him a big feed hoping it'd put him back to sleep but nope! So we've been up since 6. There isn't even any good telly on! I'm getting very bored with Candy Crush, sigh.

DH is sick. He's never sick. So he's a) got the worst manflu ever as he spent all night tossing and turning convincing himself he'd end up in A&E ("and I'd be ALL ON MY OWN as you'd have to stay here with the baby!") and b) feeling hugely guilty and miserable as all I ever do is take care of sick people and now I have to take care of the baby on my own whilst he stays in bed.

I'm torn between feeling sorry for him - I do suspect its a virus of some sort - and feeling waaaaaay more sorry for me!

happypotamus · 11/04/2015 09:53

I wrote a long reply yesterday then the iPad crashed and lost it.

After lulling into surprise at how easy putting her to bed before me was for 2 days, she then decided she doesn't ever want to lie down. We are back to me feeding her to sleep, her waking up as soon as her head touches the bed, repeat for hours until I give up. I brought her back down last night so I could put the washing on and get ready for bed, then ended up sleeping sitting up holding her for half the night. Not impressed! I can't just leave her cry even if I wanted to because she would wake Dd1 up.

anna hope your DH is better sooon

MrsAukerman · 11/04/2015 10:10

We're still on about 3-4 wake ups. I'm starting to wonder if I'm waking him up by being so close. I almost always feed to sleep so am aware I'm probably not forming the best habits.

I'm meant to be going out next Saturday and leaving ds with pils at our house (after he's gone to sleep) . I'm actually really anxious about it and considering not going. They'd certainly have quite a challenge getting him to take bottle or cup of milk and then back to sleep. I can't cope with the thought that he'd be inconsolable. Also I suspect if I say I'm not going out any more they'd pressure me into going. Hhhmmm. I know they have good intentions but it'd be easier if they weren't quite so keen!

MrsAukerman · 11/04/2015 10:11

Got eBay jumperoo - ace!

Annarose2014 · 11/04/2015 13:32

Excellent!

I got an Ergo at the Sling Library. High five!

Arkkorox · 11/04/2015 13:53

Oh God. Walking out with my mum when she rides my horse out later. Up a flipping massive hill. If you don't hear from me for a couple of days assume im still in a pile at the top trying to breathe.

Jumperoo in our household is surely turning into favourite gadget. DD has cracked where to bang with hand to get the flashing lights and sounds.

ladydolly · 11/04/2015 19:42

I have a love hate with the jumperoo. The song drives me crazy and dd now refuses to sit, standing only. On laps, on the bed, on the floor... my arms are exhausted!
But her face when she's jumping and swinging and grinning I love it!

haventgotaclue1 · 11/04/2015 20:42

Ooooo! Can't wait! Our jumperoo should be arriving on Monday Grin. Ladydolly we have a chair that rocks to an infuriating tune (well, 5 of them to be precise) - it's even worse when I wake up in the middle of the night and that's the first tune that comes into my head (shortly followed by the nursery rhyme "wind the bobbin up")...AAARRRGGGH!

DD also much prefers to be standing now than lying down or even sitting. When I try to pick her up to sit her on my lap she makes her entire body go completely rigid so all I can do is stand her up Hmm

haventgotaclue1 · 11/04/2015 20:43

PS - well done Arkkorox!!! Big slice of Cake for you Grin
