Eliza try a hydrolysed dairy formula like aptamil pepti. Lots of CMPA babies can tolerate it as the protein is so broken down. Its definitely preferable to the dairy free formulas as it contains lactose which is needed for brain development. Our paed was loathe to prescribe the lactose / dairy free formulas like neocate and nutramigen where Mum could BF for concern over neurological development as babies do need lactose. Of the more medicalised formula Nutramigen lipil contains very small traces of dairy, Nutramigen AA and Neocate are elemental formula that are totally dairy free and only contain small traces of soya. Don't swap a cows milk formula for soya - the proteins are very similar.

Thanks yw. I did a bit of Google research last night and decided aptamil pepti was the way to go so glad I have it confirmed by an expert.

However say if he is fine with dairy. Apart from the fact that aptamil pepti is 3 times the price of normal aptamil is there any disadvantage to him having that instead of normal formula?

Elizadoesdolittle · 28/02/2015 10:03

I don't really like honey Sad Although somebody gave me some local home made honey and it was quite tasty.

bplp early days still but certainly looking very promising. Good luck with on going potty training.

YellowWellies · 28/02/2015 10:29

No its a far more gentle introduction to cows milk for his digestive system and I believe it does contain essential lactose, vitamins and minerals.

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 28/02/2015 10:41

We used that until dairy and other allergens were introduced into her regular diet so at about 5/6mo at which point we half and halfed and then switched fully to normal formula.

Neither of my girls have ever drunk cow's milk though I use it in cooking when I have to.

They get their dairy from yoghurts, cheese and creme faiche. Plus butter. If they drink milk it is formula, though LO only has 120ml a day and DD1 has it as a comfort thing occasionally now.

Freya is currently marvelling at the fact she has a sandwich, where the ham is inside the bread - she usually deconstructs it on impact with the plate.

What would we do without our resident cmpi guru?! F has had 1oz of aptamil pepti - that's the closest she's come to cows milk!

Elizadoesdolittle · 28/02/2015 15:42

Excellent, thanks ladies.

We had our first house viewing today!

Frantic tidying and sorting was accompanied by a very late night from p and a rotten cold for me meaning almost no sleep.

Seemed to go well though so fingers crossed!

Lovely weekend here.

Hope everyone has a fabulous week. Daffodil

Elizadoesdolittle · 01/03/2015 22:48

Good weekend here too. Considering we had no plans we ended up doing a few nice things. I left DS and E with DH whilst I took DD1 swimming so was nice to have a bit of one on one time with her. First time that I had left him for more than 20mins and all was well. Funnily I left him with my friend for 15 mins on Friday whilst I dropped DD1 and her DD1 to dance class. In that time he did a poo which went everywhere so I lucked out there Smile

Car is going into the garage next week to repair the damage caused from when it fell off the tow truck. So I'm hoping for dry weather as I'll be doing a lot of walking.

StuntNun · 02/03/2015 20:30

I had a bit of a shock today, I thought the baby was coming early as I was having loads of contractions. Poor J was getting upset because I was in a lot of pain. I had a bath and they've calmed down now but yeesh I do not need four minute contractions when I'm going to be having a section anyway!

Elizadoesdolittle · 02/03/2015 21:06

Gosh stunt How far gone are you?

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 02/03/2015 21:14

If it is any comfort stunt which I doubt, I had weeks of v strong contractions with dd1. They were BHs apparently. Ha.

When is due date?

Kyz · 02/03/2015 21:47

Hey quiche :) Had a mega busy weekend, but am sat feeling very content this evening. I appear to be in the middle of a quiche hug, and I feel very special, and very very lucky to know such a wonderful quiche :) Love you all very much :)

The weekend was manic and I hardly saw poor DP who was pretty busy and had lots to do. Today was also busy, and we had a private scan showing that baby is now head down and looking just like his big brother :) Speaking of big brothers, I am hopeful e will make a very good one. He was so excited to see the photos and is very attached to the teddy bear with LO's heartbeat in it - he grins like a mad man every time we press it for him and he keeps chatting away to it, trying to give it juice and play cars with it. I do wonder if he thinks the teddy itself is the baby! He asked to sleep with it, and it made me cry just a bit Blush. For some reason of late I am getting very teary about my baby boy growing up, I am blaming hormones!

sorry eliza I haven't anything useful to add re A and reflux, but hopefully you'll find a formula that'll suit him and he settles ok reflux wise soon :) Glad you had a nice weekend in the end :)

hmmm gg honey and lemon you say? I love both... but like you only have them as a drink when ill! I could do with some morning boost, I am getting really groggy in the mornings no matter how much sleep I have had

woohoo on the reduced dosage bp that sounds like a success to me, hope it continues and good luck with the potty training. For F, i mean, of course!

glad the house viewing went well pass and I hope you're feeling better soon!!

eek Stunt when is baby due? I would've been very nervous in a similar situation, fingers crossed it doesn't happen again!

Tomorrow has something happening on it but I can't for the life of me remember what it was. I appear to be losing my marbles and my memory is shot to bits!

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 02/03/2015 21:56

Honey and lemon. This morning I made us late by insisting I had it before leaving the house.

Good job too. Sooo busy this next few weeks.

StuntNun · 02/03/2015 22:55

I'm due eight weeks today but I think is better get on with packing my hospital bag.

Elizadoesdolittle · 03/03/2015 08:21

Fingers crossed he stays cooking for a lot longer x

StuntNun · 03/03/2015 16:04

Things have calmed down today but I'm still quite sore so I think I must have hurt my back yesterday.

BigPigLittlePig · 03/03/2015 20:44

Evening.

Sounds scary stunt, hope things settle down again for you xxx

F has a cold. Again. But totally dry for 4 days and not needing prompting to use potty/toilet so success on that front Smile

Shit day at work today, totally shit. V difficult conversations with young families. Few damp eyes and that was just me Blush

Passmethecrisps · 03/03/2015 21:04

Cripes stunt. Must be so hard Sad

Stay put for a while more babystunt
