Afternoon!
Grrr. Have been feeling weird since Sat - knackered, supersensitive sense of smell, weeing all the time. Thought I was going to have to beat a hasty retreat from the pool today for a quick vom. Then I thought ooh I remember this - and bought some sticks in Tesco. Buggery negative. I'm clearly insane enough to have a phantom 1st trimester! (I do so much night feeding I think my oestrogen levels must be at record lows so it did seem a little unlikely)
I've just bought a baby jogger vue for PFB rear facing reasons to cheer myself up so there will be a row......DH thinks I'm a dick for wanting to chat to my baby and doesn't understand that our mothercaretravel system isn't exactly micro. Hhey ho
Little puggle will go to the nursery ladies fine but will not stay in a room without me at home. He is also channelling the Andrex puppy too!

Bluecarrot · 17/02/2015 16:49

Oh, I tried c25k and also buggered my ankles. I think about picking something else (lower impact) but actually doing it is the but I'm struggling with ;) plus baby and I are both sick since yesterday so between being ill and breastfeeding almost constantly I must have lost a lb or two!
I'd prob happily go swimming every day if I didn't have hassle of shaving my legs Blush

Bluecarrot · 17/02/2015 16:51

And i bought a rear facing for dd2 the other week puggle! Now I can't carry her on my front in sling anymore I miss being able to see her properly. Was a charity shop bargain graco evo, and I'd be lucky if it did her til next summer. Its tiny.

bumpiesonamission · 17/02/2015 17:07

Nice buggy puggle. I'd hit dh with some research about attachments and self esteem etc!! if anything to justify the £200

I'm sick too Sad well I think I have. Have just bought a pg test as I just don't trust the minipill and Z is only bfing twice a day now.

Any tips for conjunctivitis?

Naturegirl82 · 17/02/2015 18:27

puggle I conceived this little one whilst still bf through the night and before my periods returned so it might be worth retesting in a few days.

We had our night away last night and O was great for inlaws. She slept from 7.30 till 5, but then settled back to sleep with them till 7 so really happy with that. And we had a fab time Smile Even had a pregnancy massage this morning which was great.

Sorry to everyone going through separation problems. Is it worth persevering as it may just take a little while to get used to it. Even though O only goes to the inlaws she was still really unsettled when I went back to work but is so happy staying with other people now. It didn't take her long to adjust.

Naturegirl82 · 17/02/2015 18:28

bumpie breast milk is meant to be great for conjunctivitis. Not quite sure how you apply though!

bumpiesonamission · 17/02/2015 21:06

Thanks, tried bm many times but not shifting. This is the second bout in two weeks Sad

FelixFelix · 18/02/2015 13:32

Nature sounds like you had a great time Smile

Bumpie sorry I have no idea about conjunctivitis in babies but hopefully someone else will.

I was going to ask about rear facing with prams. Mine can either face me or face outwards and I don't know at what age im meant to face her outwards? Or does it not matter? I like her facing me so I can chat to her.

Feel very ill today. DP has taken the day off work to look after S. Had a really long sleep and still feel rubbish!

TobyLerone · 18/02/2015 13:36

I always have M facing me in the pushchair. I might always have her that way. It really depends on what she wants.

TobyLerone · 18/02/2015 13:36

Sorry you're not feeling well, felix. What's wrong?

BookTart · 18/02/2015 14:30

P has been forward facing since she could sit up in the pushchair, because she is super-nosey. Now I usually just use a little buggy she has no choice anyway :)

She's had a funny sort of twitch for a couple of months now, every so often she shrugs one or both of her shoulders up to her ears. At first it looked like a shiver, so I just put more clothes on her, but she is doing it a lot now and it is hard enough to knock her over when she's walking. Any idea what it is? Is it just a thing they do? I tried to get in at the GP today, but the appointments were all gone within four minutes of the surgery opening, grrr.

Bluecarrot · 18/02/2015 14:50

No idea Book but try to video her doing it as Sod's law is she won't do it when in the appointment!
Dd usually crawls with right hand in fist but at year assessment she crawled with it normally. HV must have thought I was delusional or something.

FelixFelix · 18/02/2015 15:31

Thanks Toby. Banging headache and swollen tonsils Sad DP has taken S out on her trike (after much persuasion) to give me some peace and quiet.

Book I've not heard of that happening before. I agree to definitely film it just in case she doesn't do it when you see the gp.

Naturegirl82 · 18/02/2015 19:12

Hope you're feeling better Felix

O has suddenly popped two molars through the gums. No teething signs except a slight temp last night and about 30 mins of bright red cheeks today! So strange after all the problems she had been having before.

Is anyone else having real trouble with eczema? O seems to develop a new patch and within a day it's all ready infected! We have all sorts of creams but nothing seems to keep it at bay. We now have oilatum (generic) on prescription as well so hoping that may help as well.

The mmr saga continues. We still don't have an appointment and O definitely isn't booked in for at least the next two weeks (so will be at least 13.5 months at the earliest when she has it). Apparently they prioritise the baby vaccinations and if they have any clinic appointments left they tag the older vaccines on at the end! It's such a stupid system. So goodness knows how long we will be waiting!

Naturegirl82 · 18/02/2015 19:13

book can you speak to a hv about it? They probably won't be able to help (ours just usually refer us to dr) but it might be something they have come across before.

Good work on the teeth O! I can only hope P's will be the same... No experience with infected eczema, but I think puggle might be able to help.

I don't have much faith in our HVs nature, but the GP did a phone appointment and said she wants to see her and I just have to phone up each morning until I get an appointment. It isn't urgent I don't think, and I expect they will tell me it is an ear infection and there's nothing to be done about it. If the hv at her 1 year check hadn't told me that her lack of speech could be linked to glue ear caused by ear infections then I might not have bothered at all.

DH has to have P for an evening in a couple of weeks while I go to my friends memorial service thing. I'll leave during dinner, so he'll do bath, Night Garden and bed but I won't be there to feed her. Tonight I gave her a cup of her follow on milk instead of bfing her, and so far she doesn't seem to have noticed at all. Is she going to wake up hungry at 3am?

FelixFelix · 19/02/2015 09:35

Book did the milk make any difference last night?

Naturegirl82 · 19/02/2015 15:07

Whoop anomaly scan went well and baby even has 2 kidneys. So relieved Smile

FelixFelix · 19/02/2015 15:31

That's fab news, I'm so pleased for you Smile

AMillionNameChangesLater · 19/02/2015 18:23

Yey nature!

Excellent news, nature :)

BookTart · 19/02/2015 20:08

Congratulations nature Smile

It made no difference at all felix, she slept 7:30-5:30. Tonight will be different though. It just took me 4 hours to get home from London (usually 1.5) and P slept most of the way. She's in the bath now, but I guess she won't be in bed until gone 10. YAWN.

Mythreeknights · 19/02/2015 20:50

Hi gang, just checking in having found this lovely new thread. Hope all is well, sounds like lots of babies are fast approaching the slightly premature terrible twos. All good with us, just back from four days skiing in Switzerland which was heaven (sans les enfants!) and provided much needed together (eg shag) time with dh. I have recently discovered the amazing virtues of coconut oil (intended for cooking) ..for anyone not in the loop on this, you basically wipe it into your hair and wrap head in as ramen towel for a couple of hours, then shower and shampoo it off and oh my goodness!! For the first time in my life I have shiny nice girl hair (as opposed to fluffy wiry hedgehog hair).

Mythreeknights · 19/02/2015 20:51

Ps, congrats nature! Two kidneys definitely better than one Grin
