We've used good knowledge of my cycle as both contraception and to conceive for the last 11 years. But it never mattered so much if we had gotten pregnant at the 'wrong' time.

Now is the first time since getting married that contraception has become important. She's 4 months and have still not sorted anything out. Must book a doctors appointment.

splendide · 30/01/2015 17:26

Same Fate

ohthegoats · 30/01/2015 18:48

Same here. I've had coils for the last 12 years, but after all the birth malarkey, the last thing I want is someone fiddling with my cervix. Just thinking about it makes me want to cross my legs.

There's a pill I can take now, so might do that for a few months until I convince boyfriend about vasectomy. I'd happily get my tubes tied, but reckon it's his turn to have his bits messed with.

MundayCakes85 · 30/01/2015 19:10

I'm on the mini pill and its hopefully working for me as I'm BF.
So is anyone else struggling with weight loss? I thought BF would get rid of the excess lb quickly but I seem to have got stuck. Any advice? I walk most days but don't have the time/ money to go to the gym.

STIGZ · 30/01/2015 19:29

I have an appointment to get the coil fitted in a few weeks, never had it before so really nervous Confused i keep missing my pill a couple of times a month so i need something reliable as i am deffo done having children but i still feel sad about this as in an ideal world i would really like three, but we honestly couldn't afford it and childcare is hard enough with twoSad

Lol pregnant at your ironing fetish! I just iron as i need, which appals my mum as she is an avid ironer like yourself! She even used to iron our underwear Hmm

STIGZ · 30/01/2015 19:33

Meant to add splendid my lo does only wake up once between 2/3am and then back to sleep until about 6.30am so yeah i am spoiledWink it took my first dd four years to achieve thatShock

RudyTuesday · 30/01/2015 19:38

munday I've gained weight whilst bf. My appetite is insane and I'm eating crap snacky stuff. I can't face weighing myself but have had to buy more clothes cos can't get pre preggo trousers over my huge thighs. I keep intending to join gym - it'd be great simply from aspect of having an hour to myself. I feel like my body shape has totally changed since pregnancy. I'm trying not to get hung up on it though. I guess once ds is walking he'll keep me on my toes!

Pregnantagain7 · 30/01/2015 19:53

fate pml at you waking the baby! I've gone on pill not used contraception for years but same as you it's important now.

Re losing weight I've been going to slimming world for 11 weeks and I got my stone and a half award last week so I quite chuffed (shame about the 3 to go Blush)

tattyblue · 30/01/2015 19:57

I've had a coil, and it was fine. A bit unpleasant having it put in, but I figured less unpleasant than most of the alternatives, and then you don't have to think about it for a decade. My first couple of periods after I had it in were heavier andmade me insanely hungry, but it settled down and that was it, really. I'm going to get another one in when I get round to it- using condoms at the moment but I hate them.

I don't iron anything. Well, I've got one posh skirt that needs ironing, but that's it. The perks of not having a 'real' job. Also I'm lazy and scruffy, and I line dry things.

The baby is asleep. Well yes but for how long? If she wakes up and is a horror child ask evening again I'll be :( :( :( .

splendide · 30/01/2015 20:07

A is being royally wound up by my MiL so god knows when I'll get him to bed. I really want to go to bed :(

tattyblue · 30/01/2015 20:32

Oh God she's awake. This all makes me so incredibly unhappy.

Smooshie85 · 30/01/2015 21:21

Arrrgh baby lo has a tooth I can see it and I can bloody feel it scraping on my poor nipple. Noooo thought at 15 weeks old I wouldn't be experiencing this yet!!!
Also apologies for tmi but I've still not had a period since lo was born, he's EBF so do I need to be concerned??

YellowWellies · 30/01/2015 21:32

Smooshie I didn't get a period for 10 months after Jonas. I've not had one yet with Lil either. Don't worry. I've literally forgotten all about periods Shock .

MundayCakes85 · 30/01/2015 21:51

Smooshie your poor nips Sad I've had no AF here either, enjoying it whilst it lasts!
Glad it's not just me Rudy and Pregnant. I have lost 3 stone so far (I put on way too much, including water retention) but the last stone won't shift!
I'm not hugely hungry so maybe it's my milk fat stores?!?
Hope baby calms down soon for you Splendide Flowers

FATEdestiny · 30/01/2015 22:00

Oh Tatty, you sound really sad and resigned. Sad I hope you have a better night.

wondermoose13 · 30/01/2015 22:48

Ive been in bed being chewed on for 3 hrs and no sign of sleep :( not a happymoose at all tonight

i never iron. Dh does his work shirts but thats it. His mum irons socks, pants, bedding, tea towels ... never going to happen in this house!

Ive had the contraceptive injection, and ive been eating crap like a mad woman!

Fun times! must stop watching the minutes tick by

Kirstipops · 30/01/2015 22:58

Smooshie I hear you, H has two teeth coming in on the bottom and I could feel it todayConfused
I've also plateau'd weight loss-wise, approx a stone away from my pre-preg weight but I'd want to lose another 10 or so lbs as well so generally feeling a bit of a lump at the mo! Tatty and splendide I hope your nights improve.

ohthegoats · 30/01/2015 23:35

I'm just going into another night like last night. I so hear you tatty

What's pissing me off at the moment, new to the last 5 days, is that I seem to be the only person unable to put her down to sleep. She goes for that 7pm sleep no worries... then awake within 45 minutes and that's that. She's been awake now for an hour, I've put her down 8 times and she screams - pick her up, sleeps immediately. Not sure quite how to fix this one.

wondermoose13 · 30/01/2015 23:42

Weve had 4 days of reasonable sleep patterns, 930-12 and 1.30-7. Hes not been down yet at all. Dh has taken him downstairs to jiggle him in bouncy chair but he is properly flat out screaming : s i have no clue whats wrong or what to do. He had calpol at 8ish as preventative teething wishful thinking should i give him something else? We have baby neurofen or am i just trying to medicate him to sleep! Is this really because his lunchtime nap got screwed up by his idiotic mother me earlier??
Waaaaah :(

ohthegoats · 30/01/2015 23:44

9 times

I've just been for a poo (tmi, sorry).. had to take her with me otherwise she'd have cried. Fast asleep over my shoulder the whole time. Apparently a brightly lit bathroom + loud flush + walking up and down stairs is totally 'sleepthroughable', being put down in a warmed bed, or crib, means instant screaming. Even me setting myself into a position where I can sleep with her on me is a no in her book. Frankly I need to scream.

ohthegoats · 30/01/2015 23:47

Oh and it's 45 minutes into my birthday. The one thing I want is a night's sleep, but every one else is snoring away while I sit bolt upright in bed with a snoring child over my shoulder.

wondermoose13 · 31/01/2015 00:37

Oh goats! Tonight really sucks! Hope your birthday day is much better!
I have dh snoring because "hes bloody useless and shite exhausted"
Babymoose keeps screaming. I hate that we get 4 days of a sleep pattern then it all goes tits up for no explanable reason!

Really hope u get some sleep soon goats

splendide · 31/01/2015 01:21

Awake here too :(

He went to sleep at 8.30 but awake at 1am which I know doesnt sound that bad but it's been 8-4 the last week or so and I don't really get any sleep after his first night waking normally so this may well be is up for the day. Fingers crossed I can get him down after feeding for a few hours more.

Happytimes31 · 31/01/2015 02:27

Also awake here but keep nodding off! If a bedroom is 20 and therefore maybe too hot, could that be causing these regular wake ups and also often mammoth feeds??

ohthegoats · 31/01/2015 04:02

It's 5am here and I've just been woken up by a massively leaking boob, baby asleep, me pumping. Nice. She has just done midnight to half 2, then 15 minute feed before sleeping until I had to soothe her just now.

Milk is flying out of my boob - 90ml on last 4 minutes. What the hell? Did my thing of feeding her loads when she was ill early in the week mess up my supply you think? If not that then there is clearly some growth stuff going on, which explains the shit nights. Moooooo!
