Oh hell tried gripe water and it sent him toto, not the effect I was looking for. Feel awful Sad anything else I can try for a stiff cross growling red faced baby?? If he burps or is sick his instantly better. Only really happens in the evening am getting desperate!

YellowWellies · 21/01/2015 22:57

Munday I struggle to hold my tongue when Mum's of what I affectionately term 'sumo babies' comment on Lil being wee. I think 25th centile looks small compared to most babies as babies seem to be getting bigger and bigger as we get fatter as a society. Moose yes we use Ella's kitchen stuff when eating out just check the labels. I'd use them all the time if they weren't so dear!

wondermoose13 · 21/01/2015 23:02

Babymoose: Im asleep, im asleep... im being attacked by a shark! Flailing, flailing, wide awake, crying
Me: bangs head against wall!

Happytimes31 · 21/01/2015 23:08

moose same here!

wondermoose13 · 21/01/2015 23:15

And thats just lying next to me! We havent got as far as his cot yet Confused
Not fun happy these babies need to chill out and go to sleep!

wondermoose13 · 22/01/2015 02:34

Sometimes dh baffles me!
Babymoose finally asleep, after about 1hr30 starts doing the legs in air crashing back down thing, im mid sleep and can barely open my eyes, he is reading, i asked him to go and try and calm him, stroke his hand etc. I close my eyes and hes back in bed! Legs are still crashing so i send him back,
This happens a further 3 times by which point babymoose is going turbo! The whole point of deploying dh was to prevent turbo! Argh!

Happytimes31 · 22/01/2015 02:48

Poor you moose! The other night F slept beside me and apparently didn't need a 2 ish feed (maybe woke but I resettled) but when in basket wakes every night around this time!

MundayCakes85 · 22/01/2015 03:39

Had to get up and feed baby because her farting woke her up and she got upset. DH rather proud of the noises!
We get leg banging too but can't work out if she's self soothing or trying to get the wind up down
FX for another few hours now the brass band has stopped Smile

wondermoose13 · 22/01/2015 04:51

Urgh he still isnt asleep! Surely he must need sleep? I bloody do! Weve tried feeding to sleep and white noise and everything is failing miserably

wondermoose13 · 22/01/2015 05:57

Still awake :(

Happytimes31 · 22/01/2015 06:41

Here again moose how are you doing?

wondermoose13 · 22/01/2015 06:44

Still awake... feel like hes a newborn again, he wont even stay asleep next to me let alone be moved
He dozes off for 10mins then does shark attack and wakes himself up. I actually cant believe ive been up since 2.30....
Have you managed some sleep tonight?

Happytimes31 · 22/01/2015 07:03

Poor you, yes we have fared a bit better, small chunks but I agree like newborn. Big win for me though was no sick despite hysterics after gripe water. But I think it was luck..

Happytimes31 · 22/01/2015 07:04

Can you cancel everything today and them crash when he does, as surely he must???

fatpony · 22/01/2015 07:24

Do you think he's in the regression Moose? It seems to have gone on a while? sorry for the silly suggestion but Have you tried a really tight swaddle? If he is jerking himself awake through thrashing limbs etc...

sazzlehopes · 22/01/2015 07:51

God moose I feel your pain. Up since half 3. And before that he woke for a feed at 12 and half 2. N wakes and I'm too tired now to try anything other than the boob. I sat up half the night with him dozing on me knowing away at my boobs... This is not ok. I need to address whether I totally cut out dairy again and try a early to bed routine like Kirstie.

Thanks yellow ive seen that ladder before. I might cut out dairy again. I'm sure when I introduced it I started seeing bad sleep, he's never been great but not this bad. Nights are just awful now and like moose i really dread bedtime...
No formula yet munday, still worried about the dairy part...thinking about it or cutting it all out again...I just can't decide what to do. It's so hard doubting everything...

Feel your pain today Moose

I think he did ok really. Sleep at 8pm then fed at 1am, 5am and 7. But loads of grunty half wakings, random shriekings and just masses and masses of the leg thrashing. I've just changed from blankets to sleeping bag so not sure if that's the issue.

splendide · 22/01/2015 08:29

Have any of you had to have your baby's blood tested? I have to take him today and I'm really nervous :(

FATEdestiny · 22/01/2015 08:56

If you reduce a layer of clothing, you could put baby in sleeping bag underneath a tightly tucked-in across-ways blanket - pinning flaying legs down.

splendide · 22/01/2015 09:14

I'll try that tonight Fate. Good idea.

wondermoose13 · 22/01/2015 10:16

Yeh fate we do that with the white noise, its the only way he'll tolerate the sleeping bag!
We're off to a baby group in half an hour because i havent been out the house for 5 days due to snow and ice so i have to do something but i think this afternoon may br spent in bed!

splendide weve had blood taken from a heel prick- took ages and was really unhappy and also from a cannula which he wasbt best pleased at initially but once it was in he was fine and much quicker to get a sample. Hope all goes well with the tests :)

Ive honestly no clue what it is pony started the day he turned 12 weeks, which is also when we started omeprazole which can cause insomnia in higher doses but we arent that high so could be acid pain. Could be teething or regression too! Just too many options to try and tackle, but all suggestions very welcome! We will give swaddle a go tonight see if it helps restrain him a bit! Wink

ohthegoats · 22/01/2015 11:13

I had some what can only be described as fucking awful nights at 12 weeks too. We thought it was because we tried to organise a bedtime and she wasn't ready for it - two weeks later she did it all by herself. But yes, I feel the pain of being awake ALL NIGHT - I don't know how they do it!

splendide · 22/01/2015 11:18

How's her sleep now Goats? I don't really like him going to bed at 8 - I very much enjoyed him going to bed at 10 with me and sleeping till 5 - but I can't really stop him short of keeping him miserably awake all evening. He really has done it himself.

tattyblue · 22/01/2015 11:24

I'vejust left the house. Dp is armed wwith sling and sippy cup. Back home in about five and a half hours. I'm really worried I'll get back to find her starving and then I'll feel unbelievably awful, but fingers crossed. Dp says there's no point asking him how things are going because he's going to tell me they're fine whatever, so I might as well resign myself. I wouldn't be worried, it's just the difficulty with getting her to accept alternative feeding methods has me spooked.

Oh well... here we go.

wondermoose13 · 22/01/2015 11:42

Good luck tatty! Hope all goes well, im sure it will :)
