Thanks fate. 5 weeks?! He would be almost 6 months by then! It is important that he can take one. I'm not sure I can cope with it being only me - makes me feel so claustrophobic and a bit stressed by it. ive also got two weekends away lined up that I need to go to (work related).

tattyblue · 18/01/2015 07:20

fed up I'm going out for the afternoon and leaving the baby with dp. I'll let you know if letting her get a bit more hungry does anything ( I'll only be five minutes away, if it all goes to shit).

Second night in a row hysterical crying baby at bed time. This is my baby who has really never cried (except when offered a bottle) or never cried enough that a boob wouldn't fix it. She's been doing pretty solid hand eating and drooling but I've dismissed it as just having found her hands, but last night she gave me some really sharp nips while trying to feed, clamping her jaws down on my nipple, and then just refused to latch on and got more and more upset. Teething? There's obviously something bothering her.

splendide · 18/01/2015 09:33

Poor baby tatty :( could you try calpol if you think it's teething?

A is 12 weeks today! There goes the 4th trimester I suppose. Isn't this when lots of you got bad sleep? I'm frightened!

He did ok last night though. Went to sleep very late - not till 10 by which point he was stupid overtired - but then slept till 1am. At 1 he did some moaning and fist sucking and then went back to sleep without me doing anything then slept till 5 and had a bf then back to sleep until 8.30.

BadgerInBury · 18/01/2015 10:55

fedup I feel your pain re. the bottle but I think we've had a breakthrough. If we try to cuddle her up as if she's getting the boob and then give her a bottle instead all hell breaks loose. Hysteria, howling, strongly worded protests, threats to call Childline... She got so upset when I went on a driving lesson earlier this week that she actually sobbed in her sleep for an hour after I came in and fed her. Then I got some good advice from ExcitedCJ over on the FB page about distracting her while giving the bottle. Now we sing, dance, play Horsey, put her in the sling, sit her facing outwards, stand in front of the mirror... Anything really to keep moving and to let her know this is different on purpose, rather than a boob feed that has somehow gone hideously and terribly wrong. It works about 80% of the time, just as long as she's not too tired.

STIGZ · 18/01/2015 11:09

How did you get on with goats milk sazzle?

Pregnantagain7 · 18/01/2015 13:01

Gosh what a difference a week makes! R has had 3 nights where he has slept so much better! I feel like a different person.

I'm having such a lovely day today it makes me remember all the reasons I wanted four children. We have all been out for breakfast to a local garden centre with an indoor play area it was so nice.
We have come back to a reasonable clean and tidy house with the ironing done and everyone is chilling out playing or reading the papers.
Leg of lamb is in the oven for later when fil is coming over. Dp gone to the gym Nd when he gets back I plan on having a large glass of red Grin
I feel like I'm in an ad for washing powder! Someone give me back my family.
Oh and I don't believe it, it's actually snowing!!! Squeeeeee :)

wondermoose13 · 18/01/2015 13:42

Aw pregnant that sounds lovely! Grin

The snow and ice has us trapped inside for the next week :s not looking forward to it

MundayCakes85 · 18/01/2015 15:08

Well we made it through the first night on our own and E slept until 7! Had to get up at 8.30 to get ready for church. Her first time as DH is away and she didn't disgrace herself with wind/ poonamis/ crying!
Lots of sick this afternoon though. Any thoughts why some days are extra pukey?
Pregnant I wish I was as organised as you. You definitely deserve that Wine
Splendide glad you got a good night's sleep it makes such a difference.

wondermoose13 · 18/01/2015 15:40

Whats the deal with baptism/christenings?
What age do you do it? Is there a difference between the two? We have a nice church across the road but arent exactly church goers, but ive always assumed the baby would be christened.

splendide · 18/01/2015 15:43

My niece and nephew were about 10 months I think - cousins were older. I think it's up to you!

We're not getting A christened which has rather upset my Catholic mil.

MundayCakes85 · 18/01/2015 16:55

Moose it's a baptism in Catholic Church, christening in CoE I believe. I haven't been to church in a long time but started back recently so E can be baptised (hopefully around Easter at 6 months)

wondermoose13 · 18/01/2015 17:15

Coolio thanks :) im sure the mil will have something to say about it as theyre not church types but i was christened and went a lot as a child and just have always had it in my mind that babymoose would be

tattyblue · 18/01/2015 19:32

So my afternoon out proceeded thus- I left dp with a fractious baby. He took her out in the sling and she calmed down and went to sleep. Came home are about 90 minutes, woke up, took a small feed from a bottle (about 30 or 40ml), was happy for another hour or so, then started to cry a lot, but wouldn't take any more bottle. That was when I got home. I'll be out for a further two hours on Thursday, but we're thinking I should just go. She's been a bit miserable over the last48 hours, which hopefully won't be the case by Thursday, and she's taking a bit of bottle. I feel rotten about going when I know she'll probably cry, but...

Pregnantagain7 · 18/01/2015 20:12

munday yes I think you're right. I'm catholic (as is dp and the kids) it's always referred to as baptism. In the catholic faith babies used to be christened when they were tiny but people tend to do it a bit later now.My dcs are mostly born in sep/oct and we have had them all baptised in May/June. Members of our families were a bit Shock that we'd left it so late!

:)

FATEdestiny · 18/01/2015 20:19

Fedup: Thanks fate. 5 weeks?! He would be almost 6 months by then!

Yeah, understand. DD was three weeks when we started, but it took until 8 weeks (just before actually) for her to crack it.

Do join in Smile

MundayCakes85 · 18/01/2015 21:29

Hi Cabster hope you and baby are well.
Had SIL visiting this evening so only just trying to settle E down for the night, hoping to get her into bed mode by 8 this week then gradually move it back- anyone had any success?

wondermoose13 · 18/01/2015 22:29

How can i get babymoose to actually feed and not just fall asleep and chew?
We have always fed led down in bed at night to help him drift off and to stop me falling asleep sat up and thus dropping him on the floor! But recently he seems to just drift off and not actually feed much but then wakes if i try removing from his mouth :s he needs to eat more as it is the skinny creature :(

fedupofrainydays · 18/01/2015 22:35

Mine does that moose. I just keep threatening to take it out by pulling away slightly and he starts drinking again.

fedupofrainydays · 18/01/2015 22:36

I'm persevering fate got half an Oz in him today, not by him actualy sucking though - more dripping in!!

wondermoose13 · 18/01/2015 22:44

Ill give that a go, so annoying. My supply isnt the best and hes not helping. Its no wonder he wakes so often if he wont eat. Grrr silly baby!

STIGZ · 18/01/2015 23:16

OMG, there is a mouse in my living room Sad wont be baby keeping me up tonight, im freaked out, dp said he wont be able to catch it as they are too quick, i wont be able to sleep knowing its lurking about Sad

I actually hate my child. He finally went to sleep, finally transferred into his cot at 11.10. Was that soundly asleep at 11.30 i had to watch his chest to make sure he was still breathing. At 11.45 he wakes up and because we dont pick him up within 5 seconds hes screaming the place down.
Why is he doing this!!!
