I wake after 2.5 hours if he naps long - because of the weight thing. I hate doing it though! Poor wee thing is so enraged. I always think "yes, shit being woken up isn't it?!"

Pregnantagain7 · 14/01/2015 14:13

Must be a day for sleepy babies r has been asleep since half eleven.

mundy that is one serious poonami!!

We've had a couple of rough nights he seemed to have settled into waking once a night but it all seems to have gone a bit pear shaped since his jabs on Monday. I gave in last night and put him in bed with me at four just so he would stay asleep.

Hopefully things will sort themselves out soon I feel like I'm back in the newborn days.

wondermoose13 · 14/01/2015 14:26

Yep mondays jabs have taken us from moderately crap sleep to a total nightmare.
Put him in his toddlepod today and he went mental :s hes never going to be a sleeper! Booooo

Inthewaysince82 · 14/01/2015 15:32

Sleepy babies indeed, little Pop has never napped this long! 90mins and counting....

On another note, does anyone have any top tips for surviving nights alone? It's miserable not having DH's return to look forward to and its a loooooong night with just me and the Pop Sad

It wasn't a long sleep day here until half 2 when I resorted to driving to the supermarket to make her sleep. She'd been awake since 9. You can imagine the mood she was in!

sazzlehopes · 14/01/2015 16:15

I still have a sleep fighter on my hands too! At night and in the day, little monkey. Last night I got one stretch of 3 hours inbetween the crazy 2 hourly wake ups and general unsettled behaviour. Then today he's had one half an hour nap this morning about 10 and then one more about 1ish And now finally asleep, but on me and I'm too scared to put him down even though I really need to make ds1 dinner!

How can he go almost a whole day from being awake at 8am with just an hours nap. That cannot be healthy?! And I wouldn't mind if he actually slept at night...so I don't even get to catch up either on naps!
He doesn't seem that ratty though which is odd, he's quite content!

I've had a shit nap day too! Did 45 mins in his sling till about 11 then nothing till 2 and it's been on/off fighting since then. I've given up now, he's had quite a lot of sleep between 2 and now but quite broken and certainly no nap for me!

MundayCakes85 · 14/01/2015 16:40

Third outfit of the day. How much poo can one little girl produce?
Jabs tomorrow, not looking forward to an unsettled baby. She's just got herself to sleep, yay hot cup of tea here I come!!

FATEdestiny · 14/01/2015 18:33

sazzle If you think his sleeping is OK then it is OK.

I was on a thread a while ago and a link to this baby sleep chart was posted. Obviously it's only a guide. Some bits will work for you, others won't. For us for example, it suggests a last nap time of 5pm but DD often naps 6 or 7ish even with an 8pm bedtime.

Good as a general guide for averages though, I thought.

splendide · 14/01/2015 18:47

I've really got the fear about tonight. Tell me not to panic please!

I haven't been told to wake him but feel I should. I don't know. I'm dying of anxious.

Babymoose never naps in the day, dozes on me for 10mins post boob but thats it. Im sure half his crying is tiredness! Hoping hes worn himself out for tonight but after the hell that was last night im really not looking forward to it!

splendide · 14/01/2015 19:28

I've been feeding on demand but he's not put on adequate weight and is way off the bottom of the chart. I've been suplementing with formula but still no good gains. I think I'm going to have to go fully formula sadly.

sazzlehopes · 14/01/2015 20:24

Thanks for that fate my baby is defo not quite paying attention to what is 'normal' sleep wise but it's ok!

Splendide horrible when you dread nights, I did that with my first, I got so scared about bedtime because of the crazy amounts of feeding and wake ups....I'm in a similar situation this time with lack of sleep but don't have the dread as much as I know it is just a short phase... hope even if you do move into just formula it helps with weight gain and you relaxing a bit more.

Just sat and fed and baby asleep and going to attempt to transfer and hope he goes longer than 2 hours!!! See you all in the other side!

ohthegoats · 14/01/2015 20:47

She's driven me mental today - just that whiney annoying 'crying' that isn't really crying. But so goddamn loud. Boyfriend is now trying to put her to sleep without me having to have anything to do with it (she's fed and changed, obv). Fingers crossed.

Baby clothes are annoying aren't they! We had John Lewis sleepsuits for 'newborn' which were MASSIVE, and now she's grown out of those, the next size up '0 - 3 months' are MASSIVE too. Even though by rights she should be in 3 - 6 month clothes anyway.. and other 0 - 3 month clothes either fit or are too tight length wise (she's quite long) Confused

I really must get her weighed at some point.. not done it since she was 5 weeks old. Bad mother. But I know she's putting on weight, my back knows all about it!

Happytimes31 · 14/01/2015 22:46

No daytime napping here either except in sling or out in buggy. Feel really shit just fed to sleep and then transferred, he woke after a few mins and cried but we waited two mins to add if would self settle but he got hysterical and threw up all over himself. I feel so guilty. Now just fed again after clearing up but am now in bed so will grab him if he wakes at all Sad don't know how on earth to get daytime naps in his basket in the house

fedupofrainydays · 14/01/2015 22:53

I find after a wash clothes shrink. R is in 3 to 6 nkw and after some washes some are almost too small (he's almost 4 months) including JL ones.

fedupofrainydays · 14/01/2015 22:55

I can only get R to sleep in the buggy in the day. I can't be arsed with his bed as know he will just scream (plus it's upstairs).

wondermoose13 · 15/01/2015 02:20

We decided to try pinning babymoose down in his sleeping bag just to see if he still went mental at being in a sleeping bag... he did but using a massive blanket to tie him down seemed to help. We stuck the dummy in and the white noise on and after 30mins of dummy replacing and me & dh hiding in the dark (hes in our room and we wanted sleep!) We got nearly 3 hrs of sleep!!! The moon must be in the right alignment or something but its a huge relief to know he can go to sleep on his own. Now trying to boob him back to sleep but we'll see how that goes! I slept terribly before, partly due to white noise and partly because i was convinced he was going to wake up any second!

MundayCakes85 · 15/01/2015 04:53

Well I've been trying to sleep propped up with baby on my chest since 1.30. This wind + heating on has really pissed her off tonight! Jabs in a few hours, yay!
