Well, you'll certainly get great value out of it. My 6.5 year old still builds sandcastles and road-ways for his trucks while M tries to eat the sand so we definitely have all ages covered for usage. Wink Eh, grass goes back. I wouldn't worry about the cover leaking, really, it's sand, it'll get wet. I'd just put the cover on so the neighborhood cats don't take a fancy to it. So does it have a bottom so the sand it contained or is it just the frame?

peardrop2 · 28/03/2015 21:03

It has a ground sheet. One of the reviews suggests getting a better ground sheet from a garden centre which apparently doesn't cost much. DH did not realise it doesn't have a bottom Grin It is odd that it doesn't have a bottom!

I was just asking b/c the enclosed ones tend to collect water and they're hard to drain, so it's good that there is just a ground sheet so the water will filter back into the ground.

Oh that's good news bring Smile

Frus - sadly not because we're rubbish at all things DIY but I'll certainly be looking at lots of cheap options. We have 4 very annoying neighbourhood cats so it's a priority before anything happens! Yuk

So, yet again Bpear woke up screaming the house down at 2:30am but this time I managed to get some medicine in his mouth Confused teething sucks and I am so over these stupid canines!!!! still feeling achey and fluey but a tiny tiny bit more human. Just need to fall back to sleep now!

bringonthetrumpets · 29/03/2015 15:29

Ahh pear feeling your pain (literally). M has been a nightmare for the past week and DH and I are alternating between going and sleeping in bed with her. Thankfully last night was his night because I could just feel the cold creeping in through the day and by last night I was miserable. Sinus headache, stuffy chest and just BLA. He was very sweet this morning and left me to sleep when M start screaming her little head off again at 6. ahhhhh when will this ever end?????

We adopted another stray/rescue kitty yesterday! His name is Shankley (FLC fans will know that reference) and he is so sweeeet He loves to be right up under your chin with his paws on your shoulders. Paisley has hissed at him, so he's been secluded until Paisley gets over herself and lets him check out the house. I know they will be best friends eventually...

peardrop2 · 29/03/2015 17:26

Thanks bring. I found blood on his cot sheet this morning and the canine has finally cut through! I feel like having a party ?? Talking of parties I managed to sweat out the bug in the night and felt marginally better by the morning so I dragged myself to the 4 year olds party 1.5 hr drive each way which was actually quite peaceful as I was driving and not entertaining a 2 year old Wink

Halleluja Bpear slept through! I forgot how amazing that feels! It's been weeks Confused

bringonthetrumpets · 30/03/2015 14:15

Oh dear lord I wish I could say the same pear. I ended up in M's bed last night at about 3 and was then woken up every 1/2 hour or so with demands for water and prompt screaming if I wouldn't go to the bathroom and get her some. I feel like my brain has leaked out through my ears and I'm just a zombie. DH and I are at our whit's end as this has been our past 2 weeks plus M's whinging and screaming all.day.long through the whole.entire.weekend. She's not pulling on her ears, she's still eating, no fever and her canines have all popped through. WTF is wrong with this miserable child ?

peardrop2 · 30/03/2015 18:20

Oh bring that is so tough Hmm Sorry for bragging about my night! Last thing you wanted to read this morning Hmm If it helps our day nap has completely disappeared since he was unwell and we're struggling to get them back Confused He's reverted back to not wanting to be alone again...sigh!

So, tomorrow (9dpo) I'm going to be visiting a farm with friends. Why do I always go to the farm when I might be pregnant?! It is major lambing season now but Frus you assured me that it's OK last time didn't you? Annoyingly it's been in the diary for a few weeks so I would feel bad about cancelling last minute, plus I do actually want to go. Perhaps I could just say I need to change Bpears Harry the moment we head to the lambs? A bit obvious then isn't it Blush

Obviously I mean nappy not Harry. The joys of autocorrect!

Thanks Frus. What happens if a lamb is being born right at the moment I'm there? Blush

bringonthetrumpets · 30/03/2015 21:15

You're not bragging at all! I'm happy for you! It means the insanity may actually end one day in this house.

I'm sure you will be absolutely fine even if there happens by chance, to be a birthing sheep. Like Frus said, anti-bac gel, hand washing, don't touch your face, you'll be sheep-germs free.

AGnu · 30/03/2015 21:50

pear don't catch it? Run away before the lamb learns to walk & comes to rub itself against you? Wink Just don't touch a newborn lamb fairly sound advice for general life, I think, unless you happen to be a vet/farmer, I'm sure it'll be fine!

peardrop2 · 31/03/2015 07:43

Thanks ladies. I'm turning into a crazy lady I know Blush Right, no touching and go armed with anti bac. Very sound advice Wink CD 38 (longest bloody cycle ever) DPO 9 and if AF doesn't show up today then I think I'll test in the morning. Please stay away AF!!! I was hopeful until a spot turned up last night which is exactly what I get before AF so now I'm a bit anxious about it. I'm glad the distraction of a million kids at the farm will take my mind off it.

Bring - bpear woke up again at 2am last night. Then, just to make me extra happy he bit my nipple so hard I let out a scream. Stupid teething Hmm I've never experienced anything like it! If I don't fall pregnant this month then I'll be completely weaning... Felt very ready to do earlier this morning! Angry

I thought lambs were a no-no too... I was so cross that we couldn't go to Reeceheath and watch the babies being born, and now I'm even crosser that actually I could have gone so long as I didn't actually deliver the lamb myself (which they don't let you do anyway)

Either way will keep fingers and toes crossed for you. I don't want to be the only grumpy fat preggo on the thread.

Ok, so it's my birthday next week and I can't decide what I want as a present or what I want to do. I have the option of ditching Nora with her Grandma so Hub and I can do something nice together, or we could go out as a family... any suggestions of things to do or things to receive??

So, I've had a really hard day at the farm Hmm We were early and bpear didn't want to wait about for the others so he ended up acting like a bull in a china shop Angry When my friends did arrive he didn't want to do the things their kids wanted to do as he just wanted to be outside. It meant I spent the whole morning on my own in the sandpit with them but on the plus side apparently I missed watching two lambs being born! As he didn't want to see any animals today we managed to escape lambs after all! Bizarre!

OP posts:
bringonthetrumpets · 31/03/2015 21:31

Kids can be infuriating at times. They just don't even appreciate the effort we go through to take them to fun places to just pay attention to some damn animals, they just want to go in the bloody sandpit instead (maybe a cue that the sandpit idea is a good one for your home!). Sorry to hear it was a wash. I hate when that happens, seriously.

COME ON STICKY BEAN! Stay in there. We need another grumpy pregoo on the bus :)
