Oh dear, I'm so sorry to hear frus Stressful and painful to see a little one hurt and having to defend yourself in the face of medical providers. And yeah, I completely agree. I feel like our youngest are old enough to let us use the flipping toilets by now! You are not a crap mum! These things happen especially when we are on kid number 3 and we're not hover-parents anymore (no offense to our lovely first-timers Wink)

In other news.... we are currently sitting over here in a foot of snow. Happy spring everyone Hmm

Your Dc let you go to the loo? Bpear wouldn't allow me to do that but that's probably because he's a lonely child right?! I did not know what hover parent meant so I googled it. Made me chuckle Grin

So had my early scan this morning and little bean has a heartbeat, and a head and a yolk sac and all seems good. I'm 8 weeks since conception, feeling just fine and hoping, really hoping that this one will be sticky.

bringonthetrumpets · 24/03/2015 13:37

Aww fantastic news Lib! Such an amazing moment to see the little beans for the first time. Mind-boggling how small they start out as.

don't want to jinx anything but M slept all night last night. I must have slept hard with not being woken up by screaming that I drooling when my alarm went off Grin

AGnu · 24/03/2015 14:02

Congrats Lib! How old will N be when #2 appears?

Good sleeping skills M! Smile Also not wanting to jinx things buuut... both boys have slept in the same room 3 times in the last 4 nights without incident! Well, they woke a little earlier than usual this morning which was a bit frustrating given how late they went to bed last night. Both have had at least a mini-meltdown this morning - Calf's wasn't so 'mini'... He screamed for nearly an hour. I genuinely thought he was going to make himself sick! All because I'd asked him to apologise for shouting at me & said he wouldn't go downstairs until he calmed down! Aside from that, the room sharing is going well! Grin

Calf's best friend has just started wearing big boy pants. Calf will happily do all poos on the toilet but seems oblivious to wees. He has, however, started talking a lot about DFriend going to the toilet for his wees so I think he's processing the concept & might start wanting to do the same soon... Hopefully! I must admit that I feel a little embarrassed that he's not toilet trained at nearly 3.5y but I'm not going to force the issue. I'll encourage bottom-less playing in the garden once it's warmer though! Plus, nappies are so much more convenient than having to find a toilet every 5 minutes!

Librarina · 24/03/2015 15:36

Hurray for sleeping!
Nora has been at her Grandma's for a week now thanks to R and I having flu... she has slept 12 hours straight every night there! I can't wait to see if that carries on when she comes home...

So, N will be 2 years and 4 months when new baby is born... due mid October!

Thank goodness these little humans are finally figuring out the whole sleeping thing!

Went to the gym today. Umph. Can't move. I think I was a bit over-zealous now that the kids' spring break is over and I finally got 5 minutes to myself. Oops. Tomorrow is going to be extremely painful!

peardrop2 · 24/03/2015 21:50

I'm preparing a "breastfeeding survival kit" for a friend with a newborn who really needs a helping hand right now but I don't have time to cook for her this week so I was thinking about a basket of healthy snacks. What saved you ladies? Any ideas what I could add?

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 25/03/2015 07:01

I have a good list now Smile

Pumpkin/sunflower seeds, walnuts, porridge, soreen, hot cross buns, bananas, spinach, mini Mars bars (half tempted to leave these out as the poor bubs is suffering with colic so this might not help), some sort of cereal bar and apricots.

I've brought Bpear his first birthday present in the sale. A Little Tikes lawnmower. He will also be getting a sand/water table. Anyone else had any thoughts on birthdays?

How's your body this morning Bring? Still alive? Wink

Nora hasn't opened her birthday present (Little Tikes Red Car with Yellow Roof) from last year yet. Would I being a very bad Mummy if I gave her that again?

peardrop2 · 25/03/2015 14:30

Frus - I am the one child mummy "reminder" on the bus Wink I like the sound of a swing and cute that he's already into dinosaurs!

Lib - I don't think it makes any difference to them as long as they can use it, they love it Smile

My sister has offered us very old Little tikes climbing stuff for the garden. Just waiting to see if I can spray paint it first as its a bit of an eye sore in its present state.

So, today I went to see a midwife to read through my birth notes. It was so interesting. I have a very different picture with timings in my head and there are so many notes! It's like a book! Anyway, the midwife thinks that it is unlikely that I'll experience a third degree tear again and she thinks I can have a natural birth again and assures me that they will discuss things about that and I'll get to see a consultant during my pregnancy so now that I know that I will kick up a fuss if it doesn't happen. She says that they will be looking at my gestational diabetes again which means they won't let me go overdue which is a pain but since bpear was only 1 day late maybe just maybe I can avoid being induced next time. Also I won't be stuffing my face with Terry's orange next time so maybe my levels will be better if they test again. So basically I learnt that it's nothing I did wrong and she praised me for doing so well which was really nice. It was really nice to hear that it wasn't the 2nd dose of pethidine or the epidural but it was just because I was too tight and exhausted but she said I had been pushing really well apparently! It only took two pulls with the ventouse so it wasn't as long as I remember it being! So it's all done now. Now that I've seen how much was written I have a little more faith in the hospital and I think my perception of the event was down to inexperience, a massively overcrowded ward mentioned in my notes and fear. Book closed Smile

Those all sound really nice. You could make her some lactation cookies too: COOKIES!! I know you mentioned you won't be able to cook this week but even seeing if you can rally up a couple other friends to help pitch in with meals or bringing her a favorite take-away one night. Remind her that she's got a whole community there to support her.

My body is reminding me that I beat it up yesterday, yes. Getting out M's bed this morning was interesting. She woke at 1 and screamed her little head off until I crawled in her bed and slept there until 7 this morning

We haven't thought of what to get M for her birthday yet. DMIL gave her a giant ridiculous plastic bike that has this push handle on the back of it for Christmas and DH finally got around to putting it together for her. She's more interested to play with DS's dinosaurs and try to ride their old trikes than playing with her pink things. So who knows. And no Lib it wouldn't be bad at all to re-gift it for another birthday! She would never know the difference and she would totally love it now at this age!

I have zero motivation today. The house looks like a bomb went off and there's shit everywhere that I so don't feel like cleaning up. I've got a ton of work to catch up on and don't feel like sitting on the phone talking to crabby reps at insurance companies and we got another 2 inches of snow last night. I just want to go hide under my duvet. Sad

bringonthetrumpets · 25/03/2015 14:38

Awww Pear !! I'm so happy and relieved for you! It sounds like it was a very healing experience for you to know all of those important details and being to put the puzzle back together again. Onwards and upwards to the new next babe! (ps, any symptoms to indulge us with yet???)

AGnu · 25/03/2015 14:40

bring take care of yourself! Ignore the tidying, get your duvet down & snuggle up on the sofa while you work with hot chocolate in hand! Brew

pear I'm glad it was a productive meeting for you. It must be such a relief to have the confirmation that your previous experience isn't likely to be repeated. Maybe now you've had that mental block removed your body might be a little more compliant! Grin

You're all mad. Birthdays are months away.

peardrop2 · 25/03/2015 15:01

Thanks ladies Smile

Urrr Agnu I hate to break it to you but Easter is just round the corner and then birthdays begin Wink

Off to go and investigate cookies. Would it be wrong to make myself some?! Lol

OP posts:
AGnu · 25/03/2015 15:12

You can't go inflicting a new recipe on someone without extensively testing it yourself pear. What if it's awful?! What if it's the sort of cookie that is nice when cooked a certain way - there could be hot spots within your oven that completely ruin some of the cookies... I mean, they might all look the same but you'd better check, just in case! Wink

peardrop2 · 25/03/2015 15:34

Hah hah Agnu my thoughts exactly! And can we really trust bring with baking recipes after she's admitted to baking not being her strong point Wink

On a similar note I've heard from my friend that she's received her survival kit on her doorstep and is very touched. She's taken a vitamin already Smile The controlling freak inside me wanted to remind her to only take them with main meals but I think I better leave that one as let's face it she's probably only going to eat my snacks and no other meal today ??

Bring - it's DPO 3 today and I've been experiencing lots of little twitchy pains , particularly around the right ovary. However, this has happened before after ovulation so it's all normal. I imagine it's linked with hormones. AF is due tomorrow.

Weirdly the midwife mentioned twice about me having a boy as I was leaving today. As I was going she said hopefully you'll have another boy and then she said it would be nice for you to have another boy. It's just weird because we won't talking about that. I ended the conversation saying I was happy to move on now. Odd!
