I could meet you bring, we are off the Florida Saturday too GrinGrinGrinGrin
Booooo to stupid highs pear where's that little egg

peardrop2 · 13/03/2015 13:04

After another terrible night I took DS to the doctors this morning. Bpear has a swollen glands, a bug / possibly a throat infection. Confirms a lot Hmm Just have to keep giving Calpol / Nurofen to keep his temp down and wait for it to pass. As he's likely to be contagious this will probably hinder my Mother's Day plans on Sunday to meet up with family members boo hoo ?? Just hope he gets better now as it's been a horrible week for him Sad

CBfm still showing highs (8th day now). On cd20 so I'm hoping I ov this weekend. That would make a good Mother's Day present wouldn't it Wink

Wow Frus that is high for all the time. Bpear is so hot and miserable. How does your Dd cope, poor thing Hmm Bpear managed a couple of spoons of my fish pie and then burst into tears and asked to go to bed. I'm thinking about waking him up before going to bed to give him a dose of Calpol but DH thinks I'm loopy. I'd rather try and get his temp down then have him wake in the night.

AGnu · 13/03/2015 22:19

I'd definitely try to get some calpol in him pear. It may be possible to do it without waking him. My DSis used to have medicine from a syringe every night & I remember having to carefully aim it at the inside of her cheek & squirt it slowly. She never woke up!

I have 2 small boys asleep in the same room. For the first time ever they actually both fell asleep in their big beds in the same room! Crazy shenanigans for the first hour but once I put tape over the light switch Calf stayed in bed & Runt just pottered around until he got bored & lay down of his own accord! After a pretty awful day of Calf screeching at the top of his voice "I'm being quiet" because I told him he'd have to stay in his room if he kept shouting... I now feel like super-mum that I've got them both to sleep in the same room! Good thing it's the weekend so DH can deal with them when they wake each other up at 5am... It'll be his punishment for only just getting home from his supposedly 8-6 job. That's how long he gets paid for & he got in at 7.30 this morning... Hmm Seriously gets on my nerves that he basically donates so much of his time for free. As far as I'm concerned, they want my husband to do work for them, they can blooming well pay me for looking after his kids to free him up...

Good to have you back Frus! Without you & bring things have seemed especially quiet round here! What part of her flute is leaking? I didn't know they could leak! Confused I bought myself a fancy refurbished second hand flute when I finished my uni course a few years ago. It's in desperate need of a polish so pretty! I've not had any chance to play it for ages but I've been getting back into it recently so I can start playing in church again. The DC regularly have musical meals now because I get bored sitting & watching them eat & they're contained so can't terrorise my beloved flute! Grin I'm currently writing a country song & I imagine the neighbours are pretty sick of hearing me playing it on my flute repeatedly while trying to figure it out! Blush

bringonthetrumpets · 14/03/2015 02:47

Oh wow Kitty! I hope the flight goes well for you and that you have fun! What part of FL are you headed to?

I am back on home-turf. The past week has been good. Had a lot of relationship-patching with my mother and we seem to have worked a lot of kinks in our relationship out. She is a totally different person now that she is somewhere that makes her happy and even though she's in pain from her back, she's such a more down-to-earth person. She and my dad are definitely going to get a divorce, it's just a matter of how messy it may get between them.

M is cutting canines as well and spiked a fever half-way back home on the plane. No clue how hot she got but she was SO HOT. One top tooth point in through and the other three are really swollen. She's been in great spirits while in FL with me though and we had a lot of fun together. She was really brave and was jumping in the pool! Probably one of the cutest things I've seen. Not a huge fan of the ocean waves though and kept getting upset that they would come and get her feet wet. She loved playing in and eating the sand, playing with my mom's dogs, playing at the little playground down the street and eating practically an entire pineapple by herself over the course of the week. Also her hair got super duper curly and it was absolutely gorgeous. I'm totally smitten with that little human.

peardrop2 · 14/03/2015 05:54

Bring - welcome home :-) Aaaaaa it sounds like you've made some gorgeous memories with M. It must have been like having a 1st born to yourself all over again. Did the boys miss you or totally give you the raspberry on your return? Bpear hates pineapple but to be fair I bet they taste amazing in Florida!! Brilliant news that you've been able to patch things up with your mum. That must feel like such a weight off your shoulders just knowing you're in a better place before she goes into hospital! When is that happening? Sorry to hear M has been suffering with canines too. It's hell isn't it ?? If anyone else looks at me with "oh poor you eyes my child barely flinched when their teeth come through" I might punch them in the face, seriously!! ??

Agnu - well done for getting two toddlers to sleep in one room. Remind me why you've done that? To make space for Dc3? ??

Day 9 and still highly fertile according to my monitor. How dumb is that. Nobody is fertile for 9 days. Bloody nidicolous!!! My cbfm needs a trip out the window ??

I didn't wake bpear in the end but he woke himself after midnight for his next Calpol intake and now again at 5. This seems to be our new routine now. What fun this habit will be to break! All the sweating is making him super curly too ?? he is crazy super clingy in the day. I gave into giving him ice cream yesterday just so that I could cook a fish pie. It was the first thing he had eaten in a week apart from a couple of spoons of natural yoghurt and fish pie (until he chewed on a pea and then there were lots of tears).

Aww thanks Pear It's good to be home. The boys wouldn't leave me alone once I got home Wink Absence does make the heart grow fonder and DH are in a bit of a honeymoon stage again. Grin Mum's surgery is supposed to be on Tuesday morning but now there's been a hiccup with her health insurance agreeing to cover the procedures so she's not sure right now if it will still proceed as scheduled or if she will have to wait another 10 days for her insurance to "approve" the surgery. She was instructed to stop taking pain-killers on Wednesday during her pre-operation appointment since it would affect anesthesia and was in a LOT of pain yesterday when taking me to the airport so she's very frustrated to say the least.

Teething really is the worst. It's obviously painful for the little ones and a bit hellish having a rabit teething chipmunk following you around hanging on your legs, wailing and drooling.

Hmm, that is a bit screwy pear Sorry to hear the results are coming up a bit inconclusive lately Hmm

How interesting Frus! I've never heard of someone having that much higher of a body-temp.

peardrop2 · 14/03/2015 18:15

Oh your poor mum Hmm how stressful and painful for her!

Bpear is so not himself. I managed to give him a little bath and he's now sleeping on me on the couch Hmm I was hoping he would have some dinner but I guess he's just completely lost interest in food. I still can't even remember the last time he pooped. Quite scared what's facing me tomorrow on Mother's Day Shock

Welcome back bring! Sounds like you had a fab time! Smile

Flute issue could be something as simple as needing new pads Frus. It is possible to DIY but requires quite a bit of patience from what I've heard. If it's a rental flute there must be something in your paperwork about wear & tear?

Boys are in separate rooms again tonight. We had over an hour of screaming from Calf over one mouthful. He was so tired & we kept telling him he had to at least try one mouthful of his dinner before we put him to bed. Runt wolfed his down & was in bed loooong before Calf stopped screaming! Hmm His behaviour recently has been so contrary that we've decided to be really firm with the boundaries & not give an inch when we've asked him to do something. It's so hard - it really doesn't come naturally to either DH or me! I tried so hard to be super zen with him & pretend the screaming wasn't bothering me but all I felt like doing was screaming louder! Still, over now... I managed to shove the spoon in while he was mid-scream & he stopped screaming, ate it & went upstairs to bed! Hmm Hopefully he'll remember next time that what we say goes & just do as he's told...

peardrop2 · 15/03/2015 20:10

Happy Mother's Day! I hope you've all had a good day. Bpear has tonsillitis so it's been tough in my house, he's literally not stopped crying until this evening when I bathed him, plus DH has been working. It's not all bad though as I received a lovely card and DH came home for lunch to help me have a tiny break which I really appreciated. Definitely sitting here tonight thinking I'm lucky to have the support. Now I just need to get him in the mood when he gets home so we can continue our EOD mission Blush

Frus - oh no Hmm Hope it looks better in the morning. Their war injuries seem to heal much quicker then us! My bruises take forever to go but bpear never has a bruise longer then 2 days Wink

Happy UK Mother's Day! (Ours is in May).

Holy OMG, Pear POOR little guy and poor you too! I can completely sympathise. M has been whinging, crying, moaning, screaming, drooling, snotting, following, crawling up legs, complaining, crying more, screaming more, hitting, not napping, moaning, screaming again, waking up at 1am crying, not going to sleep, passing out, waking up at 3am crying again, waking up at 6 am crying again.... ALL....FREAKING... WEEKEND. I am ready to pull my hair out, bang my head against a brick wall, and scream into a pillow. I don't remember the other two ever being this bad with teeth or maybe my memory suppressed it so I'd be tricked into thinking it was a good idea to procreate again

Oh agnu you have my sympathies as well. I do the same thing with food. Just 1 bite and then you can get down (and then I don't feel like a bad mum for sending them to bed without dinner). Parenting stubborn little boys is an extremely difficult job. Please know that you are not alone and that you are doing a fantastic job.

Poor baby Frus! It will make for some very funny pictures when he's older Wink I'm afraid I don't have any advice on the flute. I was a choir gal myself Grin

DH is making a curry for me tonight. I feel so lucky! Smile

AGnu · 16/03/2015 16:18

I was a bad mum yesterday dinner time bring. He downright refused to have anything again. Eventually we coaxed 3 peas in when he heard there was to be cake & ice cream afterwards. 3 peas, a large piece of cake & a bowl of ice cream is a completely acceptable dinner for a 3yo, right?! Blush He's slept for a couple of hours this afternoon & I'm going to give him dinner at 5 tonight so hopefully he won't be "too tired" to eat. He was complaining of a stomach ache after breakfast this morning... Maybe he'll remember that his tummy hurts in the morning when he doesn't eat dinner the night before...!

I'm on the rota to do cakes at toddlers next week which will be our last week before Easter. I'm getting carried away again! Blush My current plan is to do a dozen lemon cupcakes covered in tiny pastel coloured flowers, a dozen chocolate cakes with nests & mini-eggs & a dozen maybe ginger-flavoured cakes with rabbit bums sticking out of grass. Then I've got to do at least 2 dozen cookies. Probably basic circles with eyes & a beak to be chicks. I'm going to have a busy week! Grin

Wow, that is a tall order Agnu ! Good luck with all the sweet-making! Not a bad mum at all. I've done it dozens of times. Grin

We went to the zoo this morning and a tiger was chasing my 6 year old as they ran on either side of the glass together. I think he was entertained by kid #1 but he looked like he'd much rather eat M. I got it on video, it was crazy!

Never too early to go to bed IMO, Frus That sounds....frustrating to say the least. Every so often I contemplate just setting up a woman-only island commune somewhere where we don't have to deal with any man-related BS. Just when we want some and then we send them back to the stinking place they came from. Wink

Hello!

Hope you're all well. Just wanted to pop in and say Hi!

All is good here. N is being toddler-naughty but then so ludicrously cute that I don't want to tell her off. Also, have a tiny bit of news.... again.... it's early days and I'm shitting a brick scared but it sort of feels nice to be back on the roller coaster again.

Kisses, Ax
