Aww pear I hate that I have don't words or magic potions to help (especially from all the way across the pond). As for cow's milk, I don't think it matters when you give it to him. They are just recommending milk for children under the age of 2 because of the fat-content that is needed for brain growth and development. If it's affecting his normal eating, then I wouldn't give it to him. A lot of milk actually inhibits iron absorption in children leading to anemia and they are finding that it has so much calcium that it's not as great for us as originally thought and that we lose our calcium stores, so less it better. Including other good-fats (nuts or nut butters, eggs, avocados, oils) in his diet is a good way to make sure he's getting enough (plus the breastmilk that you're still giving him) so if he doesn't drink that much cow's milk, it's totally fine.

peardrop2 · 04/03/2015 15:52

Thanks bring. The cows milk issue wasn't a thing for us until I stopped feeding at 7pm and then suddenly I'm trying to give him 2 beakers of milk between 4 & 7pm which is obviously going to effect his appetite somehow. I didn't think it through at the time Wink I will as of today only give him half a beaker after his nap and see how he gets on with that. It's probably just a habit wanting some warm milk after he wakes, I don't blame him Wink

Finally put myself on the waiting list to talk to a midwife about my birth story today. Feel much better just getting in contact with them. DH is an idiot. Yep, a big fat idiot. He doesn't understand why I'm doing this. I am so angry with him for not being more interested or supportive. Grrrr Confused Men!!! Or maybe just my man Angry

Bpear has started to sign objects. Like if he picks up a toy bus he will look at me and do the motion of wheels going around until I say Yes that is a bus. Is this one step closer to the talking point, maybe?!

My mum is babysitting so we can go to the cinema tonight. Shame I am in no mood to talk to DH, luckily cinemas don't involve talking Wink

Holy snowballs, ya'll. This morning has been CRAZY!

Got hired to be an office admin manager last night with a midwifery practice at a ridiculously good hourly rate that I couldn't pass up. So had to wake up at the crack of dawn to drive an hour for a photo shoot with the rest of the midwifery practice to take pix for the new website. After that offer I decided NOT to pursue nursing school so that's out the window (huge sigh of relief, I wasn't so sure about being studying all day all night and being constantly stressed out again as a student). And... got a call from my mother that she has a bulging spinal disk, a broken lumbar spinal bone (!!) along with a cyst that all needs to be taken care of ASAP. She had been experiencing back pain for years but just always shook it off and took some meds for it. It started getting worse so my aunt forced her into the specialist and after an MRI they discovered that she basically should not be walking because this spinal bone could crumble at any moment and scheduled an immediate surgery for her in 2 weeks time. So now M and I are going down to FL to spend a few days with her before her surgery next week (I'm still smarting from how much that costs, my poor bank account Hmm ).

Pear I'm happy you were able to make the appointment. Men are just generally shit on things when it comes to birth. In their minds it's like, "you had a baby, the baby is alive, you're alive, you can have sex again, the end." I hope the appointment goes well for you! It can be a really healing experience for you to have those details and to know the whole picture to help prepare for next time. Big hugs for you!

peardrop2 · 05/03/2015 22:13

And now there is a glimmer of hope for baby Número 4 once you've settled in and made your mark Wink Smile I love your men r useless explanation!! Spot on Grin Thanks, I feel the time is right to clear my mind and start a fresh. Maybe once I've dealt with the demons good things will happen Wink

AGnu · 06/03/2015 14:25

Wow! All happening on the bus today! Grin

Congrats on the job bring! That sounds perfect for you! Do you think you'll pursue another baby now? When does the job actually start?
How are you feeling about spending a few days with your mum? At least you get a trip to Florida - the weather's got to be warmer down there! Grin

pear what are you doing on MN? Call your DH home & get on with it woman! Wink

bringonthetrumpets · 06/03/2015 19:07

Huzzah! Pear laid an egg! Go get that bad boy (girl?) fertilized, lady! Grin Wink

Job started effective immediately. This midwife is up to her eyeballs in administrative stuff plus it's raining babies around here right now so she really needs the help. So, busy, busy. Baby numero 4 won't be for probably another year. We are coming back to the UK in August and then it's my brother's wedding in December-which I'd much rather NOT be the pregnant bridesmaid.... so I guess anytime after then is fair-game! I promise you'll be the first to know when I whip the ol'IUD out Grin

Oh no worries. We are leaving on Monday for my mums. Warmer is an understatement. It's like 70 degrees difference there than Minnesota! It will be a small shock to the system, but I am so excited to show M the beach! It'll be interesting to say the least about my mum, but it's just a few days and maybe she'll be different away from my dad?

peardrop2 · 06/03/2015 23:36

TTC with a sick man is just incredibly head banging against the wall stuff! Honestly, it's days like today when I wish there was a sperm pill Wink

Bring ~ fx your mother is v different without your father around. It's likely to be so, fx!! Soak up that vitamin D for us!!

Agnu - I've managed to see your cake. 1 word...wow! Did you make your own wedding cake? My wedding cake had roses on top. If I'd known you I would have saved a fortune Wink

OP posts:
bringonthetrumpets · 07/03/2015 03:45

LOLLLLLL at "sperm pill" It really would just solve so much. You could always turkey baster too! Put him completely out of commission. Ha! Wink

bringonthetrumpets · 08/03/2015 17:59

How is everyone this weekend?

The weather is finally more spring-like! We also had daylight saving time today so it's definitely feeling like we are turning a corner and will finally be out of the horribleness of winter. I always feel like an animal this time of the year.... "I SURVIVED WINTER, HUZZAH!" Grin

All set to jetset to sunny FL to visit my ridiculous mother. I am not entirely excited to be seeing my psychotic alcoholic aunt nor to introduce her to M but I'm hoping that it'll be a short part of the trip and that mother doesn't have everyday planned with her. Hmm Palm trees and the ocean. I am really excited to show M everything! I will update everyone when we get back!

How's the egg-fertilizing going for you this weekend, Pear?

peardrop2 · 08/03/2015 21:26

Bring - I've managed to Dtd twice and should peak tomorrow. I just hope that the stress, lack of sleep and DH's ongoing bug will not destroy any chance that I have this month. On a happy note this is the first month that I've had 3 highs on the cbfm like I should, just need to peak now. Have to go to the farm in the morning with the in laws and then return home to get back to business Blush DH is at work all day today so we have had to skip today Shock

Bring - I hope the trip goes as smooth as possible under the circumstances! Have a safe journey Thanks

OP posts:
AGnu · 10/03/2015 20:39

Did you peak pear? How's DH's bug? How many more days until you can start POAS?

peardrop2 · 10/03/2015 21:47

Agnu, OMG nooo! I've had 4 days of highs but no peak as yet Confused DH is off and on. We don't really know what it is. I don't think it's a bug but more something that he ate. He's getting stabbing pains above his stomach that keep him awake. The man idiot also ate a very large bag of salted peanuts at the cinema last week so that could have something to do with it Angry it was dark...I didn't see him making this incredible dumb move Sad Who eats a whole big bag of peanuts?! My husband apparently!

peardrop2 · 10/03/2015 21:51

Bpear is really teething badly. The worst so far and it has not been a breeze in the park. I've had to give him Calpol and Nurofen a couple of times today it's that bad. His canines are coming through, 3 to go and then I think we're done. I thought he had the last 2 molars to go but I had a feel tonight and it appears everything is present except 3 canines at the front, bottom and top. Strange because I thought it was the molars that caused the most pain. Anyway, I'm in for another fun night Sad

OP posts:
Lorelei353 · 10/03/2015 21:56

Canines were definitely the worst for ds. Got them in quick succession last Nov and it was a nightmare. I think we have a last set of molars to go.

Good luck dtd!

peardrop2 · 10/03/2015 22:15

Oh that's good to know Lor! I was starting to wonder if maybe it was an illness causing him to have a temperature but I'm 90% sure it's the canines causing the trouble. He's stirring with tears every 30 minutes which is most unlike him Hmm

OP posts:
Lorelei353 · 11/03/2015 08:52

Yeah DS stopped sleeping for a few weeks when his canines were cutting through. We wondered if he was ill too - and he did have various headcolds on and off too - but it definitely turned out to be the teeth.

peardrop2 · 11/03/2015 16:04

He won't drink or eat so it must be bad. He's had a couple of sips of cold milk TG but that is it.

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 11/03/2015 16:05

Lor - sounds exactly like your son

OP posts:
Lorelei353 · 11/03/2015 22:10

Yeah he didn't eat well either. Actually we thought we were entering terrible twos very early. He suddenly became more difficult. Every little thing seemed to set him off. He was a bit of a handful.

Then the teeth came in and it all changed. He was my easy -going little boy again. He ate again and he slept again and his mood improved.

Stupid canines.

peardrop2 · 12/03/2015 05:39

Lor - I'm looking forward to the part where the teeth come in! His temp is now 39 Hmm

I'm now on day 7 of getting highs on my cbfm. I've totally given up guessing what my body is playing at!

Frus - are you back online yet?

Hope everyone else is having a better week Smile (even bring in FL)
