Follies? Follow. Hmm

AGnu · 26/02/2015 16:47

bring is a little bit of you wanting them to reject you so you've got a legitimate reason not to go & can indulge your baby-fever?

Glad the snot is clearing up Lor. It's snot central here! We all seem to have had colds for the last month!

Took the boys to the proper hairdresser for the first time yesterday. I've been avoiding it & cutting their hair myself for fear of public meltdowns. They were absolute angels! Calf spent the whole time looking in the mirror & sticking his tongue out at me whenever I asked where it had gone & Runt wasn't overly impressed & kept craning his neck around to look at her with a very Hmm face but tolerated it! Calf's hair now looks much better, although I did neaten it up where she'd missed a few bits but Runt's hair barely looked any different! We'd asked her to do the same for both of them, but Runt's a little longer by the ears & with a fringe instead of a side parting... It's nothing like that! Confused I had to put the TV on at home to distract him while I chopped bits off!

I'm up to my ears in leaves now! I made & coloured 39 leaves yesterday & am now wiring them together while the DC play upstairs. Still got to glaze the leaves & heather too but I've lost all motivation since coming back from my mum's! It's just not fun anymore & I'm really having to be disciplined to sit down & not procrastinate by whinging about trying not to procrastinate on MN... Wink 24 hours & it all needs to be packed up & ready to go! Eek!

bringonthetrumpets · 27/02/2015 15:51

You got it agnu! I will find out in a week whether I get to interview for a Masters Program position or not. DH is convinced that I will get in. Me, not so much. I have a plan B (B for baby, haha)... but my brother is getting married in December and I do not want to be a ginormous preggo bridesmaid, so it wouldn't be able to happen for a while anyway. Plus we are having car issues with my car and are debating on whether we scrap it and trade-in for a different one with potentially more room for another carseat (plus a new car payment) if need be or pay the extra $2,000 to get it fixed up and ready for another 100,000 miles (and no car payments). Guess we'll be a step closer to the answer next week. In the mean time we still have to dump more money into it because it won't flipping start! Urgh.

Om, shouldn't you be getting paid for the amount of work you're putting into this cake agnu?

M's newest phrase; "I want" "I want ham" "I want a bar" "I want padpad (ipad)" "I want MoMo (our cat)" Or just the general temper tantrum with "I WANT" being screamed at me over and over and over again coupled with head banging into my knees. Confused

peardrop2 · 27/02/2015 21:18

Ooooooo maybe I should be counting my blessings that Bpear refuses to talk?! lol

Agnu ~ we also had the 1st proper haircut this week. All Bpears curls got the chop, sob! He needed it though because I could make a pony tail with his mop and people started mistaking him for a girl ?? Thankfully I was very strict with how much little came off and my hairdresser did an OK job.

I am on day 2 of my healthy food lifestyle kick. I'm about to tuck into chocolate soya...yummy yumm ShockI really want to weigh myself. I don't think it's too bad because I can still fit in most some of my size 10 clothes. This is more about just being healthy and stopping myself go down the "I am so depressed that it hasn't happened yet road' On Monday I ate a whole bag of Jaffa cakes...it got a bit like the hungry cattipilar book without the veg and fruit Grin

On a happier note. Bpear has suddenly really started to enjoy tidying!!! no idea what that is about! And today he turned the handle on his peter rabbit Jack in the box all on his own. I'm a proud mummy Smile

Kitty? Are you OK?

If I were a professional cake-maker I'd probably be charging at least £700 for it, possibly as much as £1000. Flowers have made it the 3 hours to PIL's house. Still another hour's drive before they reach the final destination & I can start wiring them together... I'll be so glad when today is over! I'm not convinced even £1000 would convince me to do this again! Far too much stress!

I've been eating like the VHC recently. Mostly procrastinating to avoid the flowers!

AGnu · 28/02/2015 12:03

We're not getting "I want" yet but definitely that attitude accompanied by a very loud "ehp bees" help please & pointing or just stamping & shouting. I rarely know what he wants!

bringonthetrumpets · 28/02/2015 16:41

Wowzas, that's a lot of money Agnu You could totally put together a side business and start stashing a bit of moola for yourself Wink

Eh, it's a process Pear. Having a healthy lifestyle is recognizing what types of foods are better for you than others and having a cheat day once in a while- knowing it was a cheat day and moving on to having more healthy days than cheat days. There is absolutely no way to be a perfect eater (and IMO, that's a sign of an eating disorder...). Small baby steps to eating more healthily and soon they will become habits. Hang in there!

M's newest obsession is chasing the cats and tackling them. She will lay on top of the cat or put it in a choke-hold while it just meows until she lets go. We are lucky that they are so tolerant of her Confused

AGnu · 28/02/2015 21:29

After the day I've had there's no way I'm going into business bring! Trying to wire them together with petals falling off & DH's aunt hissing at people that dinner would have to wait because I was not to be rushed! All came together in the end & she was thrilled with it. Didn't look like what was in my head but it would've had to be made of real roses squished close together to match my imagination - that was clearly never going to happen!

Agreed with Frus Stunning piece of work! My cakes turn out a bit more...om.... almost inedible. It's not my forté. Wink Oh screw the old bat, she sounds horrid. Glad it all went well and I hope you got loads of compliments!

M woke up at 5 this morning.

peardrop2 · 01/03/2015 15:27

Is their a picture of this cake then? It's annoying how I can't see photos on my phone.

Bring, I had a 5am wake up too Hmm It's his teeth. Luckily for me today after Nurofen he went back to sleep for an hour but I personally can't do that but at least I got to relax in bed for an hour. Does M go back to sleep or is that it?

What happens when no children nap? When will I cook? I've managed to make a beef casserole and veg soup at nap time today. So knackering running around trying to be annika rice with a 2 hour stop watch ticking Grin

Blush thanks! Blush

pear the pic is on Facebook. I'm reluctant to post a pic under this name - I have another MN name for more easily identifiable things. Not sure it's possible to PM photos but I can probably upload it somewhere & PM you a link if you want?

Runt woke at 6... He's a bit behind...! Wink Luckily for me, he had a very rare Daddy-moment so I went straight back to sleep! He refused to wake up at 8 though!

peardrop2 · 01/03/2015 18:09

I'd love to see your cake Agnu but don't worry if it's not possible. Do you all know what each others kids look like? That's cute.

Oh no, when she's up, she is UP and starving and ready for breakfast. Luckily DH was getting up to catch the LFC game this morning (b/c of the time difference)... but most mornings that's me up for the rest of the day.

When the children don't nap we put on the TV, hope they watch it, and make french toast and scrambled eggs for dinner.

We went to the Science Museum today and now I'm exhausted. The introvert in me wants to go hide and decompress for a while but with DH being tired from the above-mentioned early rising it ain't gonna happen this afternoon. M is currently sitting in her high chair next to me being a little shite and throwing crayons around the kitchen whilst looking me in the eye with a mischievous grin. .....and now she's coloring on the table with a colored pencil at least it's brown like the table

kittykatsforever · 02/03/2015 13:02

I'm here I'm here Grin thread dropped off and I just hadn't realised how long I hadn't checked for!
Agnu that cake was absolutely stunning! I'm not one to complement easily either so take that as a huge compliment as I'm a perfectionist and did art at university it really is beautiful I hope she loved it!
Pear so sorry to hear af turned upHmm hopefully this is your lucky month, I think dropping that feed will help.
Frus how is the new house? Lots of work to do or not too bad?
Lor hope your bugs are starting to clear up, really crappy doctor experience you hadConfused
Bring you are so far behind with downton lol I think the first 3 series were the best though, enjoyed 4 but it's gone downhill in my opinion. M sounds like such a character lol kitten is a little bugger and feisty as anything, she has done 4 poos on the potty this last week, so much better then what she does in her nappy, like proper poos but she still hates it and only does in under duress, ie I know she needs one wip off her nappy and make her sitHmm
She only says I want for one phrase and it's in the morning tiger has her vitamin and kitten is too young for them as they are age 3 plus so as she kicked off we gave her a tic tac. This has become a morning ritual and if tiger mentions her vitamin kitten will run in the kitchen shouting I want my tac tac ! It's very cute

Lorelei353 · 02/03/2015 16:15

God, Potty training Shock it's all ahead of us!
DS will start saying 'poo poo' and sometimes 'poo, poo. Potty'. For about half an hour before he actually does a poo and then will come tell you he's done it, will pick up a toy to entertain himself and will bring it into his room to the changing table. Quite sweet. We've tried sitting him on a potty (with nappy and clothes on) to see if he'll poo on it but he hasn't. He's a long way from potty training though. No pee awareness and definitely not dry at night!

DS doesn't say 'I want' but he will tell you the thing he wants in no uncertain terms.

bringonthetrumpets · 02/03/2015 16:41

Oh my life. M won't stop whipping her nappies off and running around the house stark naked. She knows when she's done a poo and will come and tell us (she is very dramatic about the whole thing and looks like a birthing mother when she does them!). She is very interested in sitting on the potty but hasn't made the pee-on-the-potty connection yet.... so I'm constantly chasing her around to make sure she hasn't peed on the carpet!

Also, this girl is an eating machine today. It's only 10:30 and she's eaten 3 eggs, 1 piece of toast with butter and honey, a bowl of cereal, a granola bar, a whole banana, and 10 grapes and 2 pieces of deli ham. She's like the VHC today! Good grief make that 2 bowls of cereal, she's just signed for "more"

Ooohhh I wouldn't be tackle ing a garden at all in thus weather frus, it was so bitter today brrrrr
Kitten has no wee awareness either it's just we all know when she's doing a poo, her in particular as she's so focused on stopping it! If I ask do you need a poo she says no lol
When I got the potty out the other day and left it in the lounge she carried it threw while I was washing up in the kitchen and when I asked where are you going with that she said putting it away Grin lol

I wish I had a garden to potter in... even in the cold! Sad It's snowing here, again. March is the worst. It's sloppy and slushy and then it dumps 2 feet of snow and gets even more sloppy and slushy. But trying to remain positive... at least I will get to wear my bright and sunny wellies to combat all the slush.

How are you holding up, pear? Haven't heard from you in a couple of days. How is the evening feed-drop going?

peardrop2 · 03/03/2015 20:39

Hello Smile I'm just quiet because my whole brain has been taken over by TTC thoughts Blush I'm now at desperation stage which as you well know is not good Sad On a positive note...its a week today since stopping the 7pm feed and Bpear is absolutely fine with a cuddle and a beaker of cows milk or just a cuddle. He has actually reduced the amount of cows milk he is drinking in the afternoon and evening. I suspect he just doesn't want or need it. I don't actually know whether I should still be giving him afternoon milk after his nap. It seems to have a knock on effect to how much he eats at dinner if he is waking up about 3:30/4 and then eating at 5 with more milk at 7. I think I may need to consider reducing the post nap mil. Maybe I'll be told what to do at the 2 year check up I seriously doubt it!
