Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm on school library duty today. First time as last time was cancelled due to a school trip.

Am sat up here on my own, waiting for the drop offs to settle down so that I can go get the first group. In my head I am practicing the voices for the story I am going to read them: the Gruffalo. In French.

Zamboni · 12/01/2015 08:14

Le Gruffalo!

Elizadoesdolittle · 12/01/2015 09:55

Sounds fungg.

So its day 10 of waiting. Resigned myself to having the sweep tomorrow. I bloody hope it works. It's going to be a strange week. It's DD1'S birthday on Thursday and her party on Saturday. At this rate I won't make her party!

TheRealGracePoole · 12/01/2015 10:00

Ace gg

Oh dear eliza hopefully the sweep isn't too bad. I have had 4 I think. The first two were ok, the second two with ds1 were very uncomfortable. To go in with an open mind. It doesn'last long anyway. Xx

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 12/01/2015 10:17

Good luck eliza

I have read the Gruffalo 8 times today, out loud with no water. I want an effing medal, especially as the headteacher said half way through at break, oh that is so sweet, none of the other mums do that, we're going to look forward to your library sessions. Blush

TheRealGracePoole · 12/01/2015 11:20

Oh no gg what do the other mums do then? Sit and look at them?

Just making a vat of butternut squash, sweet pot and chill soup. What some for lunch eliza?

I have been watching The Killing on Netflix, the American one. So what is the diff between this and the Danish one?

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 12/01/2015 11:23

I guess they just deal with the lending and borrowing of books and keeping the files up to date. Don't know really. must admit they have a brilliantly stocked library for a school with just 60 puils all 6 or under. Was a pleasure to look at.

YellowWellies · 12/01/2015 11:54

Grace they're night and day different. The American one I found dumbed down with none of the subtle nuance and twists of the original. The killer is different - they changed the story. The Danish Forbrydelsen remains, without doubt THE best thing I've ever seen on telly. Ditch the US one and go Danish!

Kyz · 12/01/2015 14:12

Afternoon all,

20 week scan earlier confirms we do have a boy, and one that is looking perfectly fine and dandy in there, so that's fab :)

Weather here is wonderful pissing it down!

sounds like oodles of fun gg E loves the gruffalo! Well, the reading bit - not so much the no water bit, and yes you do deserve a medal!! So are you a regular slot in the library now then?

hope the sweep is ok if you have to have it Eliza I've never had one so I can't comment on what it's like but hopefully it won't be too bad for you, and hope it works!

Sounds like a lovely soup Grace I've got one i'm planning on doing - it's a lentil, tomato and bacon one

BigPigLittlePig · 12/01/2015 15:02

Am also about to make some soup Smile

Am struggling with anxiety today, had to drive in pissing rain, am a bag of nerves, hate it. Was so glad to get home.

TheRealGracePoole · 12/01/2015 16:06

Thanks be proud of yourself bp

Elizadoesdolittle · 12/01/2015 16:27

grace yes please, chuck some my way. I had pulled pork and lentil soup for lunch. Not homemade though!

bplp I think you're very brave. A lot of people struggle to drive in those conditions without having had a horrible experience.

Elizadoesdolittle · 12/01/2015 16:28

Oh and congrats on scan kyz. Glad everything is coming along tickety boo.

GwenaelleLaGourmande · 12/01/2015 19:07

Well done piggie I am sure it will get easier. How is LO in the car now?

Elizadoesdolittle · 13/01/2015 08:32

YellowWellies · 13/01/2015 12:27

Lily311 · 13/01/2015 12:36

Kyz · 13/01/2015 20:08

Flowers bp

Woohooooo congratulations eliza!!!!

Elizadoesdolittle · 13/01/2015 21:19

Well its been a long day but baby A seems to be nice and chilled and so far is feeding well. Although of course am paranoid about the dreaded reflux and intolerances but so far so good. His sisters are very taken with him and baby A is taking it all in his stride. going to try and get some sleep. Bet you're all glad I can stop moaning about being pregnant!

BigPigLittlePig · 13/01/2015 22:31

Oh eliza, am just so relieved for you that he is here and you got the lovely home birth you wanted. I hope you get some sleep tonight, and are being spoiled rotten by your nearest and dearest.

Now, what on earth are the rest of us going to talk about?!
