We had a 5ish hour stretch. We've been awake since 5:15! He's been cooing at his mobile since the. He was fast asleep on dh after his feed, put him down, slept for 5 minutes then PING! I wouldn't mind so much if he was that chirpy and happy during the day but I usually end up with a winge bag!

splendide · 13/12/2014 08:48

Yeah same he's been up since I posted. Urgh he just doesn't sleep in the day! Was fast asleep on me at about 8, into his crib and he's wide awake and crying 2 mins later :(

wondermoose13 · 13/12/2014 09:04

Yep weve just had that, fussy feed 730-8, fast asleep in bed with me, dh moved him to cot, looked fast asleep... woke 10 mins later :(
Docs were crap yesterday but did ring hosp for me to take him to be checked out "but its for your peace of mind, baby is fine!" Really long wait, saw a consultant who kindly informed me the NICE guidelines are changing in jan to say dont treat reflux! Wtf! But she said we might as well try omeprazole but dont expect any miracles, he'll grow out of it etc, doesnt seem to be dehydrated despite his terrible feeds so thats one thing (wish i could get him to stop having a good chew tho!)

And im totally with you all on crying baby in public. If one more person tells me he just needs a cuddle or a feed i'll bloody kill them! Im so fed up of the "you must be doing something wrong if hes crying" looks!

Hello all. A couple of sleep things from me. My DD didn't suffer from any sleep regression. It doesn't happen to all, I guess just be prepped that it might & count lucky stars if it doesn't. She slept through from 10 weeks until she was 3 years old. Now that she has new little brother to get her head around she isn't sleeping too well!
My DS is now 12 weeks & seems to have gone instantly from a boy that you couldn't set down & wouldn't sleep in the day to a chap who can be put down drowsy & even went to sleep in the carry cot of his buggy last night in the living room with the TV going & myself & my DH talking. I'm sure it will change again but there is hope! Smile

ExcitedCJ · 13/12/2014 09:21

wonder NICE guidelines not to treat reflux???!!! Next they will be using leeches to draw out headaches!

mrsb87 · 13/12/2014 09:33

So they think its acceptable for a baby to be in pain for 6 months?! That's ridiculous.

Dylan is FINALLY asleep after 4 1/2 hours. No rest forme though asi have to tidy the house as I have someone coming to have their hair done in an hour Xmas Sad
I had a right funny turn last night. Started to feel a bit off on our way to bed, I had a dizzy spell and walloped mu forhead on the side of my head, felt queezy, was sick and ive had a banging headache since. All perfect on very little sleep!!

mrsb87 · 13/12/2014 09:53

20 minutes! I got 20 measly minutes!!!!

Pregnantagain7 · 13/12/2014 09:56

Once when dd2 was little we were in m and s cafe and the woman at the next table had a toddler and a new baby the baby was screaming full belt and the toddler was tantruming. Everyone was watching her struggle and I could see she was on the verge of tears so I asked if she would like me to hold the baby while she sorted the toddler she looked at me like Id offered her the Crown Jewels and nodded eyes full off tears. She's a really good friend now after I bumped into her at a toddler group afew months later. She said she was at the end of her tether and was so grateful for such a small thing.

Last week I was in m and s (again) with the three youngest (yes I must be mad) and r was screaming the cashiers all actually stopped and came round to stare at him screaming
"What's wrong with him?"
"Is he hungry?"
"He's tired"
"He's teething" (wtf)
"Has he filled his nappy"

"No he's just crying because sometimes that's what babies do"
"Ooh noneof mine ever did that"
" oh fuck off" (ok I didn't say that bit but my god I felt like it silly moo!)

Kirstipops · 13/12/2014 11:13

Lol Pregnant and what a lovely good turn to do for the poor woman in M&S!
CJ I hope H doesn't do the sleep regression thing, that gives me a wee bit of hope!

STIGZ · 13/12/2014 11:17

mrsb my dd is the same this morning! Thought i would get a wee hour as my other dd is at her grans but nope she has not shut her eyes since 7 this morning, other dd back soon, dp working all weekend and the grandparents seem to forgot how tiring looking after children is especially when you have been ill for 4 days Angry

mrsb87 · 13/12/2014 11:40

I think I'm coming down with something. Achey, head is pounding and I'm FREEZING!
He is finally down after a few hours of more inconsolable crying. Just in time to do hair Sad

FATEdestiny · 13/12/2014 12:06

My three bigger ones are going to my Mums this afternoon until tomorrow afternoon. Whoop Whoop!

She is also having my brother's two children for a sleepover. 70 years old and she's got 5 under 10s for the night. Bonkers.

Just me, hubby and baby. Bliss.

Me23 · 13/12/2014 12:29

V didn't go to sleep until 11 last night but then slept till 7!

stigz so glad you finally got meds for baby. Hope things improved for you now.

wondermoose13 · 13/12/2014 14:08

excited , mrsb, i know its insane, as a scientist ive always believed the guidelines were well researched but now i think, spend an hour with my son and see how you get on

pregnant i nearly headbutted a woman in asda this morning! "Oh what a cute baby OH! Hes not happy is he? He must be starving poor thing" ???? yes i make a point of starving my child and then pushing him round asda! Who the fuck asked you anyway!

STIGZ · 13/12/2014 14:49

Thanks me I'm so relieved i finally got through to them! I was honestly so anxious it was history repeating itself, she doesn't seem to be in as much pain, still seems a bit uncomfortable at times when laid flat but I'm happy she improving

Hope you all have a lovely weekend Smile

fatpony · 13/12/2014 18:22

I was on the bus the other day. M started whining but we were 5 mins from home so not worth feeding him. A woman next to me said 'you should feed him, he'll heal better'. WTF?! Heal from what?

fatpony · 13/12/2014 18:23

Actually she said I should breastfeed him, not just feed him.

binkybunny · 13/12/2014 19:16

stigz I'm fine and still sort of here, more on Facebook as find mn hard to keep up with a well as trying to look after me and Issy and having a normal conversation with dh! No dh tonight hence me being on mn.

Love Christmas tradition ideas, we are starting a Christmas Eve box with sleepsuit and Christmas book this year. Also have bought a little light up house thing which is part of a whole village to collect so planning on getting her a house per year and my parents are getting a figurine. it's nicer than it sounds!,

JeannePoole · 13/12/2014 20:37

Ooh, moose, you're a scientist? Me too! What field?
DH very kindly did the night duty last night... and experienced the 3am "Hello, I'm wide awake, giggling and practising my words, please join in" phenomenon that's been plaguing me for the last two weeks. I'd almost prefer DS to be crying so I could just work through the "oh FFS, what's wrong with you NOW?" list and make it stop... Wink

wondermoose13 · 13/12/2014 21:36

Microbiology, what about you? :D

JeannePoole · 13/12/2014 21:41

Genetics. NHS, dealing specifically with antenatal stuff! (My CS was performed by someone I've worked alongside for years. Which was ... weird... Shock)

FATEdestiny · 13/12/2014 22:19

I have a Genetics degree, lots of us scientists here Smile Professionally I'm a science (chemistry) teacher at a secondary school. Well, when I decide to stop being a SAHM and go back to work I will be.

wondermoose13 · 13/12/2014 22:26

Thats cool :) im halfway through the nhs trainee clinical scientist programme x

STIGZ · 13/12/2014 22:41

Glad you are ok binky Wink i know what you mean about getting time to spend with dp, we have barely looked at each other 9 weeks and if we do chat its about the kidsGrin

Wow moose ., respect !! Secondary teacher? Im at the other end of the scale ... Pre school! I couldn't imagine teaching secondary Wink

Happytimes31 · 13/12/2014 22:42

Biology degree here but don't use it in my job Sad
