Just wrote a long message on the old thread only to have it not post because we'd filled it.

We really ought to do less chatting and more sleeping Wink

Do you need a pushchair at all, book? Can't you just use a sling for the few days?

I really must paint tonight. The only thing worse than painting is sharing a room with a baby :o

We could give it a go with a carrier and then buy a cheap buggy when we're there if need be I guess. The Buzz is so massive that we can't take any luggage with us if we take that too! We usually do a lot of walking and shopping in Dorset, so a carrier is a good option.

TobyLerone · 20/11/2014 20:24

You can borrow my backpack one if you want.

Grrr drove to work with the flippin car seat in the back of my car again. Meant poor MIL had to walk down to ours to get O and they can't go out in the car today! Oops.

Swannykazoo · 21/11/2014 08:20

Phew - thought I'd crashed the old thread.
Toby I am Shock at the BF Jeremy Kyle remark - did think the WHO 2 years was for bonkers people (pre-baby) but now think it seems fairly reasonable!
Felix little puggle aka Hugh is the 22nd Dec as well. Hurray! Had two invites to friends' "Parties" but not sure if we're going to do much other than fuss over our PFB
I'm slightly jealous of possible pregnancy panic - no periods back here and to be honest not much interest in that side of things but I would love another one quickly...

FelixFelix · 21/11/2014 09:46

I got rudely woken up by armed police raiding my next door neighbours house at 2.30am this morning!! Almost shit myself. It also woke S up and she was awake for 2 hours Shock damn it! So glad I'm moving tomorrow Grin

Sunshineseeker80 · 21/11/2014 10:09

G'day g'day g'day, greetings from Sydney. Also delurking, I read the thread most days but find because of the time difference the conversation had moved before I have anything interesting to add Grin

We have 6 teeth here, no signs of anymore although she can't keep her hands out of her mouth and started sucking her thumb today which I wasn't happy about. Still BFing although also planning on finishing at 12 months. I am curious as to what miraculous thing happens to a baby's gut after exactly 365 days which means suddenly it is ok to give them cows milk whereas the day before it wasn't. Mainly because there have been occasions when I have left DH to put her to bed, but it means I have to spend hours strapped to the pump in order to express a tiny bottle as we are pretty much down to morning and night feeds only. Planning on dropping mid morning next week and replacing with snack. Did the same with mid afternoon feeds a couple of weeks ago. My parents are visiting for Christmas and leave early Jan so going to wean after that I think.

We have crawling and climbing to standing on pretty much anything and everything but no walking yet. It's quite exhausting, I end up taking her out most mornings just because I spend the entire day moving things out of her way or trying to stop her climbing on me / up my leg etc. I think her first word will be 'NO' as that's all I say these days.

It is SOOOO hot here at the moment - was 35 degrees today and due to get to 39 degrees on Sunday. That is making sleeping a challenge.... I've decided that anything with these TBs is just a phase - the good stuff and the bad stuff - but after we did our sleep training with millpond it has been consistently better. felix I think you mentioned about reading their book. If you like it, I can email you the sleep plan they did for Emily, which we started the day we moved into a new house like you are planning (first time in own rooms as well) although some of it might be a bit out if date as Emily was 6 1/2 months when we did it. We are on a fairly strict routine of 2 naps a day at 9am and 1pm, then bed at 7, sleeps til 7. Waking in the night every 2-3 days but it's manageable. It means I'm a bit stuck to the house but it also means I sleep more at night so it's worth most of the time. I've met a couple of local mums with slightly older babies who have all just gone through 12 month regression which seems to involve waking up angry and hitting / kicking / shouting so not looking forward to that. (Sorry!)

puggle I am with you on the desperation for another, but not being able to face what is required to get one! I had blood tests recently and have an under active thyroid (which is a fabulous excuse for being fat and nothing to do with the daily chocolate and wine oh no not at all....!!) which I think might be part of the reason for low libido. The other part being DH just annoys me at the moment!!

I'm off to bed in a minute with fan on full blast. Have a good weekend all Smile

TobyLerone · 21/11/2014 10:11

Bloody hell, felix! What a nightmare.

nature, I was always doing things like that when I was working and had 2 toddlers. It kills your brain cells.

puggle, I don't think I knew that little puggle was called Hugh. It's lovely :)
I will also be very jealous when the next crop of babies start coming into existence. We aren't having any more and it's totally the right decision, but I'm still v broody.

Poor M is a bit snotty atm and is struggling to feed because she can't breathe well through her nose. So I'm trying to feed her because it's nap time and she just keeps looking up at me, grinning and telling me I'm cuuuute, which is her favourite word. They're so adorable sometimes!

Xposted with you, sunshine. Lovely to hear from you! Jealous of the heat. I'm freezing!

BookTart · 21/11/2014 11:23

Cheers toby, I may use this as an excuse to buy another carrier Wink I hope lovely M is better soon. How did the painting go?

Hi sunshine. Very Envy of your weather. It is cold here and the car is in the garage which means I'll have to walk to collect it later with P in the buggy, probably in the driving rain.

I was also hoping to stop bfing at a year. I've hated it since day 1, we had such trouble with her tongue tie and her suspected milk allergy that it has always been a bit fraught. She isn't showing any sign of wanting to stop though. I'll be trying her with milk again soon. If that goes okay then it'll be straight onto the cow juice for her and I can have my saggy, ruined boobs back!

TobyLerone · 21/11/2014 11:27

Got some painting done. It's taking forever doing it an hour at a time! I reckon we can get it finished this weekend, though.

If you want to borrow the backpack carrier to see how you get on with it, you're more than welcome.

A rough night with the boys, not so fun. Happily we have a Starbucks at work so I'm mainlining coffee

FelixFelix · 21/11/2014 12:08

Hi sunshine! Good to see you back Smile I've been following your posts on fb and your pictures look amazing! It would be fab if you could email me your plan. Even if it's just to have a quick look over as I find parts of the book confusing. I was just going to do the crying method because I didn't really understand the gradual retreat one but now I've looked in to it more I'm going to take the gentler approach Grin is gradual retreat the one you did? Also did you manage to night wean at the same time? That's the bit I'm most worried about. I'll DM you with my email address.

Toby glad you got some painting done. When we painted the room S was going to move in to (which she never did as we are moving, annoying!) it took fucking forever as we had to do a couple of hours a night. Pain in the arse.

FelixFelix · 21/11/2014 12:09

Million I'd kill for a coffee right now. We have no milk left and I can't bring myself to drag S out to the shop. Have one on my behalf Grin

FelixFelix · 21/11/2014 13:19

Puggle are we both first then? How exciting Smile

No more babies here for a while yet. Possible when S is around 3 but I can't be arsed being pregnant again because I hated every second of it. Couldn't imagine doing it with a toddler!

Sorry just realise I've posted 3 times in a row Blush

AMillionNameChangesLater · 21/11/2014 14:18

One of my good friends from work had a baby less than a week ago. I'm now massively broody. We won't have any more though. Two is enough

Mythreeknights · 21/11/2014 16:15

Oh no million that is a bit alarming. I got mine today (4 days early) and will send suitable tummy cramp vibes your way. I really don't think you can get pg with an implant so I am sure you are ok. Brew

Bambooshoots14 · 21/11/2014 16:44

Someone at work came back from maternity 2 weeks after me, is only doing 3 days a week to use up holiday then goes on maternity again mid jan. Wishing I was doing that now!

toby I wish h would say something nice to me, all we have is da da da at dh (and pretty much anything) and ca ca ca with hand outstretched at the cat. He also tries to copy is so when we do round and round the garden he says something like bear and there which only we'd understand and I'm probably imagining it but Im
Sure he says 'what you doing?' At me --usually when I have a camera pointed at him. Also have yeh a lot which is annoying as I'd rather have yes ha ha

We do get Eskimo kisses too but mine and his nose together are too small so usually get a sloppy snog instead but works perfectly with dh big nose!

TobyLerone · 21/11/2014 17:47

M says cute, dirty, hello, daddy, mama and gentle. But most of those things are only intelligible to us Blush

Eskimo kisses? Adorable! I want Eskimo kisses! M makes a kiss noise but can't coordinate it with the movement so ends up lunging at my face and then making a kiss noise a few seconds later :o

FelixFelix · 21/11/2014 18:39

Awww I wish S would say something! She just generally babbles a lot. She does give kisses (with tongues may I add) and high fives too.

BookTart · 21/11/2014 19:29

P barely even babbles! She used to say mumumumum and bababababa, but she doesn't do it anymore. No idea why. I can understand M toby - she's amazing!

First night of me settling her in her cot tonight. Who knew they could stand for so long and scream so much?! 25 minutes though, so not too bad. DH gets to resettle her when she wakes up and realises I've snuck out Smile

TobyLerone · 21/11/2014 19:31

25 minutes is not bad at all. Hope she stays asleep!

BookTart · 21/11/2014 20:06

Some utter TitWeasel is letting off fireworks outside. Again Angry If they wake her up I'll track them down and make them sorry :shakes fist:
