Hi all, welcome to thread 2!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
sazzlehopes · 05/11/2014 08:09

I'm so grateful for this thread. yellow I actually couldn't believe I was hearing it. She basically said I (and the hospital) was talking rubbish. When never mind the experiences you and others on here have had I have RL friends with the same issues....
What was odd was at the end she said "oh make another appointment if like to see you again about this and maybe I'll just check to see if I'm wrong about the milk protein transferring" WTF? Back tracking much?
Even if it is difficult to diagnose and very rare or whatever surely she should have listened to me a little more.
Sorry you can clearly see I'm still cross the next day!!

Anyway I wanted to ask, N seems to like to sleep on his front but I know that is a no no. Anyone recommend the sensor pad things as a way for me to let him do this safely? And save him only sleeping on me at night...
Off to get my sleepyhead from a friend this morning...will see if it helps at all!

Yay second night with minimal wind issues, in bed at 10.30 asleep by 11am (after lots of tears as dh is back to work today) up at 2am, change, feed, second change for poonami with continuing lava flow whilst trying to change and sleep again by 3am!

DH did a 5am feed before work and She's still asleep, although I did bring her into bed for cuddles at 7.30 Smile.

I wonder how long this will last?!

binkybunny · 05/11/2014 08:48

asleep by 11pm not am!

YellowWellies · 05/11/2014 09:34

Binky that was exactly our pattern last night!!!! Do you think they've been texting each other? Grin

mrsb87 · 05/11/2014 10:26

Very similar here too, we were up at 1 and asleep again by 2 though Smile finger crossed the infacol is working here. He seems a much more content baby this morning, I propped him up on my v-pillow while I got dressed earlier and he just smiled at me the whole time! I was barely able to put him down while he was awake before. Not counting my chickens just yet though!

Morning all,

Good to see that Infacol is working it's magic around the different houses.

I think my baby is having a growth spurt at 2.5 weeks. We had a good night's sleep last night -feeds at 1am and then 4.30am but then since 7am he's been feeding every two hours.

I'm just waiting to feed him again and then hoping to venture out alone for a couple of hours. Already it's a military operation with car seat, pram, baby. I feel a bit daunted by the whole thing.

hefner · 05/11/2014 10:59

Well, ds had a great night and slept for a 5 hr stretch, unfortunately 3 year old dd was restless with a fever and only settled when ds woke up. I'm sure they're working together to break us! I haven't moved off the sofa this morning.

Sorry to hear lots of you had a rough day yesterday.

I agree with whoever said that the first baby is the hardest. It's so much easier this time because I don't feel anywhere near the same shock/panic I did in the early days with my first. The most stressful thing this time is when ds is howling and dd is shouting over the noise to ask me to do something for her - makes me feel like screaming!

RudyTuesday · 05/11/2014 11:10

How normal is this pattern - wake, breast feed, puke/scream, occasional burp (usually pukes when I wind him), feed, puke/scream on loop all day. The screaming really upsets me, am desperate for a cigarette but don't want to undo the ten months I've been smoke free.

Am going to gp today to ask about pnd. I'm crying on daily basis 5 weeks in, am nervous about going out, don't want visitors and am very irritable.

Missus2ndwife · 05/11/2014 11:16

Well done Rudy for making the appointment with the GP! The hardest part is recognising there is a problem and making the call.
Hope it goes well

xx

Me23 · 05/11/2014 11:48

Good luck rudy
Glad some of the babies are sleeping well though v jealous too! I'm only averaging 3 hours sleep a day I'm done in and I dont know how much longer I can do this for. Lots of other babies seem so content and will feed/sleep all day but v doesn't sleep and is unsettled almost all the time. She also vomits quite a lot I think she must have reflux I need to make her appt with gp but worried they wot do anything after sazzlesa experience. Also worried about cmpi because I honestly don't think I can go dairy free for my own health when I'm veggie with multiple vitamin deficiencies anyway.
I had to make emergency gp appt this morn as I came off the Bp tablets Monday and now my Bp has shot back up so I'm back on the tablets again.

binkybunny · 05/11/2014 11:49

haha Yellow I think they might, but has yours decided to spend the entire morning howling instead?

First morning on my own, have managed to grab a shower but that's about it so far as she won't go down, considered the sling but my parents are due to arrive in half an hour so think I'm just going to let her sleep on me until they arrive, at least it's quiet!

binkybunny · 05/11/2014 11:53

Sorry to hear you're still having a rough time Rudy and me hope things get better for you both. I think we all deserve lots of Brew a nice bunch of Thanks and a few bottles of Wine

YellowWellies · 05/11/2014 12:16

Binky nope, sensing she has me all to herself while her brother's at the CM she's cluster fed all morning forcing me to finish the new Robert Galbraith book. Smile So far she is not a crier - maybe 5-10 minutes a day? But her brother was like that until the CMPI kicked in so chickens are most definitely not being counted. Rudy what you describe very much sounds like my firstborn's reflux, maybe get the doc to look at baby too? Thanks

fatpony · 05/11/2014 12:31

kirsti re the pulling back and head butting while feeding I saw a lactation consultant this morning who said it can be when the baby is trying to stimulate another let down...

fedupofrainydays · 05/11/2014 13:33

So I think the sleepyhead worked as he settled much more easily in that (as long as he had done a big burp)

Went to baby clinic this morn and R is now 10lb 4!! Chubster.

Tryjng everything now too - he's just had cranial oesteopathy (said there was Something up with his diaphragm and things not working quite in sync) and also bought gripe water on HV recommendation. I shall update with if any difference!

Sorry to hear me and rudy are having tough time. And glad you are seeing gp. Getting such little sleep makes it all so much harder too.

mrsb87 · 05/11/2014 13:42

Rudy that sounds familiar. We've had a similar experience, usually afternoon or evening.
Starting Dylan on fluff today!

fedupofrainydays · 05/11/2014 13:58

Omg gripe water stinks!

Bargain! Wish I knew about that deal... Good find.

RudyTuesday · 05/11/2014 15:35

Thanks all. Have actually had a good day today but will still go to docs and see what the expert says about it all.

FedI'm quite intrigued by cranial ost - did you just find a practitioner yourself or did hv recommend? What do they actually do during a session? Massage the head?

I've noticed baby has a clicky shoulder, like when you need to stretch it out, I mentioned it to hv a couple of weeks ago but she said it'll be from being squashed in womb. I thought babies would be super bendy and relaxed?? I must go to baby massage to try to iron him out.

fedupofrainydays · 05/11/2014 15:48

rudy I saw this one with ds1. Hv aren't 'allowed' to recommend as its not proven yet. NCT lady emailed me a couple recommended to her by others but she also can't recommend but said lots of people say it helps.

It looks like she's doing nothing - just touching various parts around the head, hips and tummy (sacrum area) with her finger tips. Supposed to help get things working in sync better. It's particilarly good for babies who were breech or had difficult / instrumental births.
I think any thing is worth a go when get a bit desperate with baby in pain / crying so why I've taken ds. He's been snoozing for a while now so got to be good right?!
If you are interested I would see if any local ones are recommended by other mums?

fedupofrainydays · 05/11/2014 15:49

Yeah - can be how they are positioned in the womb. Also linked to when the get flat head on one side - all about how they were positioned in the womb

RudyTuesday · 05/11/2014 15:55

I'll look into it thanks, he was forceps and had to be whisked away for pain relief - so might be suitable for him. (I quite like the smell of gripe water )
