Windy here too. Big waves too. My fave!

Donnadoon · 13/11/2014 20:24

Lovely to hear from quichemama Grin
Had peads appt today and all is well
They have no concerns about dds development....phew!
Although she has little or no speech, her understanding is exactly where it should be on their screening tests...phew again !
They will review in six months
Panic over :)

PetiteRaleuse · 13/11/2014 20:32

You must be relieved donna :)

Interested fred on aibu atm about suppositories. Proper reminded me of our newborn days when some most of you were a tad Shock when I raved about them.

In other news I am bidding on a huge translation project for an online sex shop. The test piece in itself was, erm, interesting.

Elizadoesdolittle · 13/11/2014 20:56

That's great news donna.

It's been very quiet here today without DD1 and DH. Although I am blaming the lack of noise solely on the absence of DD1. DH isn't that noisy.

All prepared for tomorrow. Got a nice 5am start so better make sure I go to bed early.

Kyz · 13/11/2014 20:59

Donnadoon · 13/11/2014 21:30

Massive hugs for E and Eliza tomorrow, hope you get good news quickly
Glad the funeral was a good send off kyz and sorry for your loss x

Lily311 · 14/11/2014 06:15

Is there a thing as separation anxiety overnight? We have had a bad night, she was up most of it and wanted to sleep on my chest. Once I caved in she was holding me so tightly, I couldn't even lie down properly. She woke and her first sentence was a big sigh and saying 'you are here'.

PetiteRaleuse · 14/11/2014 06:24

I think so Lily. DD1 still ends up co-sleeping most nights and hates waking up alone. Now though DH goes in to her. It's proving difficult to break the habit.

Pikz · 14/11/2014 09:22

Interesting lily we are getting lots of want to sleep with mummy

Lily311 · 14/11/2014 10:16

She never really wanted me to sleep with her (apart from when we were on holiday) hence last night was so difficult. I know she is poorly but this was something different.

Took the car to the garage today as the air bag light is constantly on, they quoted me to fix it for £300. Eeek. Taking it to a second garage this afternoon, hoping it will be cheaper.

Wandathewindfairy · 14/11/2014 13:11

O is streaming today and s eyes look heavy and red, poor thing. He has gone to bed with an ibuprofen for lunch.

I will go to the GP next week about the lump in my foot. Could do without any medical issues at the mo.

FatimaLovesBread · 14/11/2014 13:39

Hi all

Haven't had chance to keep up again, I know excuses excuses, truth is I am rubbish

Had a day off on Tuesday to clean, how rock and roll am I! Spent the whole day spring cleaning and still have things to do.
Child free again today so I'm attempting to sort the loft out, its full of old clothes and baby things. I'd intended on ebaying a lot of it but it's been sat there for ages so I'm being brutal and sending a lot of it to a charity that's close to my heart. Going to sell a few things I think, such as baby clothes which still have tags on. I'm saving some as well just in case we have another.

Happy birthday to all the quiche babies so far. I'm more or less sorted for M's in a week, her puky bablance bike came this week.

I'm hoping once I've sorted my house out that I'll have more time for the fred Smile

Elizadoesdolittle · 14/11/2014 14:21

Back home. Everything went smoothly. Ella is bit grumpy but seems to be getting happier as the day goes on. Consultant said there is lots going on inside her and there is definitely a problem. He is pretty certain it's what he mentioned at the consultation but biopsy results will confirm. Have a follow up in 2 wks when we will hopefully know for sure and can start an action plan. He sort of went through some bits and steroid paste was mentioned but I didn't really take it in. Will make sure DH is with me for next consultation.

So as my birthday treat I am off to a hotel tonight to be dined, breakfasted and pampered at a spa. It's bad timing and I was really unsure whether to go but E seems fine and i'm only an hour or so away so if worst comes to worst I'll just drive home. Bit all being well I should be there till Sunday afternoon. Am torn between the usual mummy guilt thinking I shouldn't go (wouldn't feel like that if E hadn't just had the endoscopy) and looking forward to a break.

PetiteRaleuse · 14/11/2014 15:09

Excellent - you are finally getting answers, or will do. Well done for fighting so hard to get that appointment x and enjoy your break.

PetiteRaleuse · 14/11/2014 19:25

Obvs not excellent that there is a problem of course. Just that things can be solved iyswim.

YellowWellies · 14/11/2014 19:42

Eliza I hope you wave the consultant's report under your GP's nose and remind him that very often Mummy does know best when something is wrong.

Kyz · 14/11/2014 20:04

Evening all :)

PR I do have an update on the kids, the DS(14) attended the funeral but the DDS (6 and 4) did not. Her DS was such a brave brave soul, and had me in bits, he sat there and held his grandma, he had written words for the vicar and he managed to keep all of his tears in, god only knows how. He said he is glad she is peaceful now, bless him. The girls came for tea today after school, to my mums, they are lively and bouncy and very chirpy, to be honest I don't think they understand the situation. Their dad (different to the DS's dad, he lives with his dad now and the girls with theirs) said there has been a couple of instances at school where the girls have been upset at one time or another, and miss their mummy, but I think they are doing so well, all of them.

bless her lily perhaps she's hit a separation anxiety patch coupled with not being well thus is feeling it more so than she might've done without being so poorly? How is she today? Hope the car was cheaper at the second garage!

bless him Wanda hope he's better soon

oh gosh fatima don't remind me that there's such a thing as a loft and they need sorting! I still haven't gotten all of our stuff out of my mums yet Blush

Eliza i am so pleased you will finally have answers! Obviously problems are not good things BUT at least you have something to work on. Try to enjoy your weekend please, tis my orders. E seems fine and I am sure she will be just fine :)

Passmethecrisps · 14/11/2014 21:34

Evening beautiful ladies and gent.

kyz your family sound so wonderful and supportive. The children will be ok I am sure as they have you all to support them. I am to attend the funeral of the mum of one my my students next week and I think it will be tough. Since becoming a mum I have found dealing with these situations much harder than I used to.

The appointment sounds tough but useful eliza. You were right all along. Enjoy your weekend. You very much deserve it.

You are a studying superstar lily. I so admire your commitment to studying while looking after the wee one.

This morning started with p in the bathroom with me 'helping'. She said "daddy happy?" I answered, a bit taken aback honestly "ehm. Yes I think daddy is happy" then said "are you happy, p?" To which she said "yas. P happy." So I asked "what makes p happy?" And she answered with a big grin "mummy happy!!!"
After blubbing a bit i went to work . . . We had inservice training on relationships building - every single teacher, janitor, technician and office staff in our whole cluster (all the primary schools which feed into our secondary school) sat together and talked about how we can build a better culture and ethos for all our pupils built on positive relationships. It was pretty emotional stuff.

Then this evening was spent playing with birthday toys, reading new books and generally having loads of fun. She went to bed very settled and I am curled up with DH and pussy enjoying goggle box.

So all in I would say I was a very contented lady.

Wine quiche!

Passmethecrisps · 14/11/2014 22:08

And I have just discovered that Gillian Anderson is on Chatty Man! Well, today just cannot get better!

PetiteRaleuse · 14/11/2014 22:09

Lovely post pass :)

Glad to hear the kids are coping kyz . I second pass. Your family sounds awesome.

GTbaby · 15/11/2014 01:54

Hello everyone.

Haven't read back far but pass your conv made me Grin. Lovely.

Had a shocking week work/stress wise. Been sleeping in loft/spare room all week in an attempt to get better sleep. Fh is off and has done all night shifts Shock tomorrow I get a lie in GrinGrin with no screening baby to wake me. Looking forward to it. Odds on being awake at 7am unable to sleep?

Right can't keep eyes open. Night night

Will catch up with you all tomorrow

Lily311 · 15/11/2014 06:20

Morning,

I had 10hour sleep, courtesy of my parents who had O overnight. Feeling so much better. I'm going to collect her soon as she is still poorly.

Spent yesterday over £200 for winter tyres, I can't believe how expensive they are. And took it to garage too, my air bag doesn't work so it's booked to be fixed next week, will cost me up to £300. Having a car is so expensive :(.

What is everyone's weekend plan? I'm going to pop into shops than collect O, will spend the rest of the day watching the gruffalo and gruffalo's child probably. Tomorrow will be rest as well, I need her to recover and go to nursery on Monday!

Wandathewindfairy · 15/11/2014 06:55

It is lily but have you kept your other tyres for putting back on? And then keep your winter tyres for next year. That is what we do.

I love your post pass you sound so content Smile

I third everyone else kyz your family do sound brilliant, I want to come and join you in your family.

O is still full of cold. It took him a while to settle to sleep and he was up at 5:45 which I suppose is pretty good going and hopefully he will bounce back in the next couple of days.

Doesn't stop me feeling bleary eyed though.

I think we are having a rest day too. We will prob go out for breakfast and then see what the rest of the day holds. Tomorrow I was going to be out all day with ds1, church and then a birthday party we will see how O is though. Soft play hell again for the party.
