Love a bit of toddler sowwy! P can do whatever she likes if it means I get a "sowwy, mummy" afterwards

I would bet that all that sea air blasts away all the bugs and ill health your poor family has suffered from qm.

After my earlier comment about nursery guilt - p was reluctant to go to bed until I reminded her that she was going to nursery tomorrow and that she needed a good sleep. Off to bed with no issue!

I have booked in for a long overdue cut and colour tomorrow and am thinking of a bit of an overhaul. Might ask on FB for some thoughts

Pikz · 16/10/2014 21:55

QM Grin

Sowwy is used a lot here. DH calls him 'osma bin L' and that is how he will go for Halloween apparently...

Pig my current fave is bubumber Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 16/10/2014 21:55

Sea air. Mine all mine in two sleeps. I hate being so far from the sea. Six hour drive but I will be gulping that air in til my voice comes back.

PetiteRaleuse · 16/10/2014 21:57

My current fave mispronunciation is "si coh pay" for s'il te plait. Please.

A sweetie si coh pay

Murray is going to be the very hungry caterpillar, he loves the story, and his war cry these days is either "more" or "something else eat mummy". He has a Halloween party at nursery and then a fancy dress birthday party a few days later.

YellowWellies · 17/10/2014 07:53

Jonas will wear his Halloween outfit at the playgroup party and then to the pumpkin picking \ Halloween party day we are going to at a local farm. Our wee Jedi is very excited about tractor rides!

Wandathewindfairy · 17/10/2014 08:09

I think I might have next door o we to be halloweeny for an afternoon.

It has been a draining week.

As you may have Sussed out on Wednesday as I was whirling my way to school to pick up ds1 all the engine management lights came on in The car and I lost power. Scared I called DH and wailed down the phone. I managed to limp the car at a very strained 30mph (on a national speed limit road) to the safety of the school car park. Where I phoned the garage (who fixed it before and serviced it only three weeks ago) and the AA.

Two hours later I was rescued, but only after DS1 had eaten beans chips and sausage with his fingers Shock

It is the same fault as in feb ( when I was carless for 3 weeks) and they have discovered an electrical fault that causes the fuel Injector to fail/blow up So hopefully it will be sorted out this time. Luckily I have another month left on my warrenty.

Sigh.

Hopefully I will get it back this afternoon. I have a hire car at the minute.

O has a toy saw and keeps sawing his neck Hmm perhaps I should change the Halloween costume.

Lily311 · 17/10/2014 09:52

wanda hope car will be ok.

We overslept today, now feeling pants and so tired. It also is raining all day long and I have to drive to my parents' city after nursery. They are in London and I'm well jealous.

Wandathewindfairy · 17/10/2014 13:06

Hhow longs does it take lily?

PetiteRaleuse · 17/10/2014 14:17

I haven't packed. Ihave to pick the girls up in half an hour and I haven't packed. When am I going to pack?

And why did I look at the weather forecast for our holiday destination? Why oh why oh why?

Had a three hours long class today which was great but I spoke so much I lost my voice agin.

Dammit.

Have decided to postpone LO's birthday completely until we return. I will do a cake on Sunday and birthday morning pastries and photos but gifts and cards etc can wait til we get back. Mainly because not very much has arrived yet.

Wondering if the ILs will be in touch at all.
hope not

Wandathewindfairy · 17/10/2014 14:32

And breathe pr

Pop that head back on.

Wandathewindfairy · 17/10/2014 14:33

What will the weather be like then pr?

PetiteRaleuse · 17/10/2014 14:46

Crap. Suitcase packed for clothes and shoes for us all. Nowto get the girls and I will do the rest later on.

Elizadoesdolittle · 17/10/2014 14:48

Boo to car woes wanda

I "popped" to bluewater to pick up E's new car seat that I had ordered. 3 1/2 hours later we made it back out. I'm a danger in that place! Exhausted now and it's time to get DD1 and take her to dance class.

Good luck with the packingpr. just think of that sea air.

Passmethecrisps · 17/10/2014 15:10

Bad weather by the sea is very dramatic and restoring to the soul.

My school has views of the sea and there is something melancholic yet affirming about watching the rain roll in off the sea.

Less affirming is reading trash mags while in the hair dressers. I have just read closer from cover to cover and am now fully abreast of the dress sizes of every woman featured including bust measurement and how many weeks since having given birth in some instances.

I feel like I should now start every post with "passmethecrisps, petite mum of a bubbly two year old princess maintains her curvy size ten figure by careful imbibing of multiple bottles of wine and packets of golden wonder"

YellowWellies · 17/10/2014 17:42

Pass I think we ought to all do that!

Yellow wellies, 3 weeks post birth is undertaking a strict regime of Betty Crockers devil's food cake baking (and scoffing, dairy free who knew!?) and regular haribo inhalation to return to her dumpy lumpy size 10 (cough cough) pre birth physique! Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 17/10/2014 18:40

i can't complain about the weather. I love the wind and rain. Tis the others who I suspect will be wusses.

Packing was made easy by having a week's worth of clean laundry needing to be tidied. I just emptied it into a suitcase. You see? Being a slattern has its advantages. :o

Passmethecrisps · 17/10/2014 20:03

That is exactly how I pack. I have no idea what is actually in my drawers as I never go in them

Passmethecrisps · 17/10/2014 20:30

P'a newest charm offensive . . . "Goway mummy" including the finger pointing in the direction I should go!

I was told it whilst she was brushing her teeth tonight - I shall try this tomorrow morning when she is beating the door in howling while I try to have a poo - and half an hour ago when she chose daddy to read the story. Unfortunately daddy is not quite so well practiced at putting an end to the endless stories and is still up there being held to random.

PetiteRaleuse · 17/10/2014 20:53

"Held to random"

Yes. That's what it is.

Passmethecrisps · 17/10/2014 20:59

Haha!!

What a Freudian slip! She certainly was being random - "moar story. Not dat one. Or dat one. Nope. Nope. Done want meemee. Not cuddles. NO SINGING!"

I had to intervene and instruct that visits to rhinos and tigers required sleep. Still not utterly convinced I am now standing at her door listening to her drop off. Bliddy DH has just come stomping up the stairs - I think sometimes he forgets we have a weeny house and imagines himself whistling whilst trotting brought the west wing rather than right outside p's bedroom door! I mean, I can actually hear the cat purring downstairs!

PetiteRaleuse · 17/10/2014 21:24

For spider people. Arachnophobes. BBC 4 is apparently doing a spider documentary on the 29 October.

Anyone in for a quiche huddle?

PetiteRaleuse · 17/10/2014 21:27

pass this was my bedtime discussion:

  • holiday tomorrow?
-yes! -running and playing? -yes -being good in the car? -daddy there? -yes -dog there? -yes.
  • ok. Car. Holiday. Sea.
-exactly. But if you don't sleep, no car, no holiday, no sea, and NO DOG.

Reader, she sleeps. Just. About.

BigPigLittlePig · 17/10/2014 22:14

Pig, looking worryingly thin, has prompted concerns for her health as she tears clumps of hair from her head whilst clutching champagne bottle.
