wanda parralel lives moment. F is 2 tomorrow and he has a tractor cake too. Although i'm guessing not an uncommon theme for two tear old boys! I'll put a pic on facebook. Though I iced his (frozen) on weds as we're away for the weekend. I'm hoping it isn't too dry, it was a bit overdone in the first place but i didn't have time to redo it! Flowers for the anniversary of your mum though. That must be so bittersweet to have them so close.

Huge hugs for det too. Hope you're doing ok.

Jims · 07/11/2014 20:18

We're driving to a cottage for the birthday weekend (hence my sudden mumsnet activity). Dh's ipod shuffle is on. The kids are asleep so i'm fast forwarding kids songs. I just accidentally started bopping along to the wheels on the bus. My subconscious was clearly telling me i know that one!

Passmethecrisps · 07/11/2014 20:58

Lots of love and hugs to those who need.

It is lovely to see some old friends back in to say hello. I love hearing how everyone is getting on.

Poor wee LO pr. I myself am sporting two side by side so my heart goes out to her

Donnadoon · 07/11/2014 20:58

pr :( how many has she got ?
Where did she get them from ?
Poor baby indeed
But how can the DR be sure? Have they took swabs ?
Sorry for all the Qs
Happy birthday to kyzs E for yesterday Cake

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2014 21:20

First outbreak so all over the mouth. Dr says further outbreaks will be milder. DH gets the odd one but not recently. Anyone at nursery, child or minder. She is v kissy atm. Most people are carriers. Am not fussed about that.
No swabs it's assumptions based on ruling out thrush, impy tea and hf&m.

Might be wrong but unless it gets infected there is nothing we can do.

BigPigLittlePig · 07/11/2014 21:57

Booo to cold sores Sad

Love the tractor cakes, am wondering what to do for Fs cake. I have form for doing good cakes but am a bit stuck. I did want to try an egg challenge, in the form of sponge cake, pre-bday, but not sure now is the right time with pox on board as well.

Better day today - F is quite proud of her "pots", going so far as to try to strip in the school playground to show her sister Grin Her sister was less keen lol. Still new ones appearing though, so will have to abandon a bday party tomorrow which is sad, as all the mums from when F was wee will be there.

Passmethecrisps · 07/11/2014 22:13

Shame for wee piggy. Glad she is feeling awesome though.

Mil and FIL are up tomorrow for a few hours for p's birthday. DH is working on p's birthday so I can't decide what to do. Do I just give her a present or two a day for the next three years week or just hit her with presenttastic session on maybe Thursday?

There are probably enough parcels to do her for quite some time and that is without ours and the in laws

BigPigLittlePig · 07/11/2014 22:25

Dilemma indeed Pass. I feel in our house we will set the precedent this yr, so am saying all in one go on her bday, but that is mainly to avoid various ILs appearing whenever they want through the week, demanding to watch her open gifts. That said, they are still too young to really know what's what! Perhaps pick a day when you, dh and P are around, and open a few and enjoy spending a morning playing with them?

Elizadoesdolittle · 07/11/2014 23:19

pr I have to say when I saw your post about cold sores I was going to mention impetigo but then scrolled further down to see your post saying that the doctor ruled it out.

pass we are going all out present tastic here. Having said that she is having a party that won't finish till around 5pm on the sunday so won't have time to open all those. And then my mum will be coming on the Monday so she'll have more presents then. But as a general rule with birthdays we do it all on that day. It can be overwhelming but at the same time I don't want them to expect presents every day.

Am knackered. Just finishing wrapping party presents and pass the parcel. But have afternoon tea tomorrow at a posh London hotel with my best girl friends and then cocktails (or in my case mocktails) in covent garden afterwards. Am very much looking forward to it after the week I've had.

Donnadoon · 08/11/2014 06:56

Wandathewindfairy · 08/11/2014 12:15

Ta bp I enjoyed that.

O overwhelmed by trA tors has retired to his boudoir.

Kyz · 08/11/2014 13:53

Hey all :) Found myself with some 'spare time' so figured i'd catch up now as I never get chance to at the weekends! Still a household full of snot here and even more so now DP has it too. Ugh. I don't think you should be able to get ill when pregnant. It doesn't seem fair, esp not in the first trimester!

lol pass that's sweet, being called a clever mummy. E is not a man of many words but his latest thing to make me chuckle is if you give him food or drink and he likes it he smacks his lips together and says 'Naiiiice' so very enthusiastically!

Fab re the cooked egg Stunt I hope J enjoys his yorkshire, they are one of my favourite ever things, yum!

sounds like nice plans lily hope your brother hasn't done anything to upset you? My plans are to put up our new dvd storage cabinet thing, kindly donated to us and much appreciated (we have far too many box sets/dvds and nowhere to put the bloody things) and we need to do a shop for the week really. Hoping to take e somewhere funky if the weather is ok tomorrow! Not completely decided where, however!

That detox actually sounds ok Wanda :) and good that you weren't hungry doing it. Have some hugs and Flowers for your emotional few days, bless you. Happy birthday to O! Hope he has a lovely day xx

ooh fab pennie hope you have a lovely time and happy birthday to M! x

oh bless her pr :(

Happy birthday to F jims!!! x

lol bless her bp but glad she's not feeling too poorly with them

pass I got it all done on the one day, but it was tough fitting it all in!

can I have strawberries instead bp?

hugs for Det and wondering also how our qm is too?

BigPigLittlePig · 08/11/2014 14:10

My ILs have just appeared...is it so wrong to stay snuggled up in bed, underneath my pox monster, a warm blanket, and the cat??

PetiteRaleuse · 08/11/2014 15:38

If my ILs appeared I'd go out pig

I think staying in the house but in bed is v polite. And reasonable.

FatimaLovesBread · 08/11/2014 18:17

Evening all

I have a poorly little girl today. Woke up at 8 ok, or so I thought. I went to work at 9 and got home at 11:30 to her still in her pjs! Was going to get cross at DH til he said she'd been asleep, M really doesn't do daytime sleeping much anymore. She then fell asleep again on my knee at 12. We had a burst of energy at 3 and now she's back to lolloping on my knee in her pjs.
High temp, puffy eyes and faster breathing than normal. So we're calpolled up watching open season 2.

One of my best friends has been to visit and told me she's 6 weeks pg, exciting! Almost making me broody.
Another friend had a DD on Tuesday at 32 weeks so I got to go shopping for tiny baby clothes Smile

Passmethecrisps · 08/11/2014 18:27

How exciting fatima! Poor wee soul though. Doesn't sound very nice

Our inlaws were here as well but that was planned. We had a lovely day. P got over excited at one point so we did our first version of the naughty step. I sat on it with her and we had a chat. At the end she stepped down, turned round and said "thank you, mummy" before trotting off!

She wailed and wailed when they left saying "want ganny gampa stay at my hooooooooowwwse!" I think ganny had a wee cry too. I do wish they lived closer

PetiteRaleuse · 08/11/2014 18:45

The thank you mummy. Was it sarcastic with attitude or a genuine thanks pass ? Either way. Cute. DD1 has mastered the sarky comments already.

Ugh. Just came across LO and DD1 sharing a lolly. Why did they choose the time LO has at best herpes at worse impetigo to learn how to share? And how do you explain to a 3yo that her sister is contagious? And that sharing lollies is gross?

Passmethecrisps · 08/11/2014 18:53

Hmm. I think it was genuine. She was very hang dog and did seem repentant. I shall keep an eye on the sarcasm possibility though!

PetiteRaleuse · 08/11/2014 19:00

DD1 has worked out that being polite or repentant can get her out of most mischief. But kind of smirks at the time. Apparently she does it at school too Grin

Watching Babe. Again.

Hook is a new favourite but Babe has become bedtime comfort wind down tv. Has replaced ITNG Shock

Passmethecrisps · 08/11/2014 19:17

Just put p to bed and she was murmuring and whimpering. I asked her what she said thinking she might be over tired and need me to stand at the door for a while. She murmured again to which I said "did you just say "go away mummy" to which she replied "yes. Go way mummy" and she is now sound asleep in about 15 seconds!

That was me told!

Jims · 08/11/2014 23:05

F is v polite. In a 'let's go change your nappy F' - 'no t'antu mummy' kind of way.

Plus today he started calling 'mummy mummy mummy...' And when i say 'yes fred?', he grins and says 'nothing'. No idea where he's picked that up from!

Family day (many ILs) for his birthday in a holiday cottage. Bit of a shame it poured down all morning but at least there were plenty of new toys to play with argue over

Hope all illness/sickness clears up very soon

Pikz · 09/11/2014 04:41

Happy birthday to all the beautiful wee ones I have missed

Very limited internet in Cape Town so just big hugs all round xxx

Elizadoesdolittle · 09/11/2014 08:41

Quick check in. Had a fab day yesterday with afternoon tea and cocktails. I missed the quiche cheers but did a mental cheers to you all with my virgin moito!

Just having breakfast with E blissfully unaware of the presents awaiting her in the other room. DD1 is overly excited about the party this afternoon. Have 12 children coming. Should be chaotic but hopefully fun with it!

Have a good day all and happy birthday to any little ones (and big ones) I've missed.

PetiteRaleuse · 09/11/2014 09:49

How was the flight pikz ?
