The man from cheapy Tesco preg test say................................................................................................................................................

NO

Felt really sad!!!

J&BM - can'tr wait for pics of birthday girl with 2 teeth!!!
NSNM - give it time girl, give it time. Mind you in my case it was an 18 years gap!!! Once that wedding is out the way!!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 30/10/2006 18:57

awwww RTL

Buzz me on MSN - you arent showing on my list for some reason?!

ELF1981 · 30/10/2006 19:53

J&RM - yay on the teeth! I think Evelyn is going to pop out another, good thing too as she's not had any new ones for six months!
NSNM - glad you have sorted you CM out! I would seriouly be lost without mine.
MB - love the Halloween name, and I hope you had a wicked party!! I'm at college tomorrow night so will escape most of the trick or treaters so I imagine DH is going to let Evelyn answer the door and bite them, she bites anything that moves at the moment!
RTL - Are you thinking of trying then?

I thought I was pg this month I was a week late and getting quite frightened. DH was really laid back about it but I was very worried. But I decided to give myself a week to test (scardy cat) but in the end got my period, yay!. So not ready for another one yet!! My friend had a baby six weeks before me and she's just had another one.

mawbroooooooooon · 31/10/2006 08:16

RTL - I've tested a couple of times too and I understand that feeling of disappointment. I would love to have another right now, but I am going to work for long enough to qualify for maternity benefit before we try again. I still haven't had my AF yet, not sure if it's the bf or the mini pill, or both.
Well done on the teeth REbecca!
NSNM - hope things work out with your childminder. Did you go to see the cheapest one?
I have loads to do today before our trip. Trouble is that there is loads of stuff that I can't pack in advance as I need it eg the baby monitor, sleeping bag etc etc. I will make sure that I know where everything is and then chuck it all in a bag tomorrow. I have to pack twice, one bag for overnight on the ferry and the other for the rest of the trip.
Oh, Johnny's creating. Have a good day everyone.

notsonervousmum · 31/10/2006 09:09

Have a lovely trip away Mawbroon.

No, we actually saw the more expensive one (only because her appointment was first this week), and it turns out her rates are the same as everyone elses - she was just quoting more for an hourly rate after 4pm for those that only wanted to use her for after school services. I was still planning to go and see the other lady originally, then make a decision from there, but we were so impressed with the first one that we chose her then and there! As well as ticking all the boxes, most of that decision was gut instinct. After all, we will be entrusting her with our son's life

RedTartanLass · 31/10/2006 22:10

NSNM - great news about minder, sometimes it just feels right eh? I feel the same about my nanny, gutted that she is going on Mat leave for 6 months, we're all going to miss her. Mind you she's a friend now, so we'll still see her regularly...I hope.

MB - how do you get those rolling pictures when you're on MSN?

Yokefleet · 01/11/2006 08:41

Hello all, Hope you are all ok.
mb hope you had a great Halloween & have a nice break
rtl I too have had several false alarms and they are a mixture of disappointment and shear relief!
Hope all your babies are feeling better now, we have had a bad week with Thomas he was very sickly one night last week which we have never had before so that wasn't good and he has already started with the "terrible twos" My happy & smiley little lad has started throwing himself on the floor and bashing his head against everything if he doesn't get his own way! I have found this really hard as he is usually all smiles. I am dreading going to the supermarket today as last week he sat in the trolley throwing his head forward on to the handle of the trolley and then screaming I don't know if it is just a phase or if it is his teething or what! Anyone any advise? It is really upsetting me seeing him so unhappy (5mins later he is all smiles again)
Sorry to waffle better go

I sympathise! In the last 2 days Joey has started howling and having a proper temper tantrum if he doesn't get his own way (ie if i take something off him that he's not supposed to have that DP has left lying around!!), and being a nightmare at bed time again (taking ages to go off to sleep, then waking up after a few hours and refusing to settle anywhere but in our bed!). I'm really hoping tis just a phase!!!

I'm sure i read somewhere that head banging can be a sign of back teeth coming through, as they are so painful. I remember how bad my wisdom teeth were, and i'm an adult! (well...) HTH x

(off to fill out all the necessary paperwork with the childminder this afternoon, then i'm taking my monster swimming in an attempt to tire him out more!)

ELF1981 · 01/11/2006 19:34

I also sympathise
Evelyn can be very grouchy, sometimes throws herself on the floor when she doesn't get her own way, and has recently started to pinch the CM's leg when she's tired and wants picking up!
Any magic cures and I'm all ears!!

notsonervousmum · 01/11/2006 20:02

So much for that idea! We went swimming, its 8pm which is the time Joey's usually in bed, and he's still wide awake and charging around the living room!!

ELF1981 · 01/11/2006 20:46

Oh no NSNM! Hopefully Joey is in bed by now!!

notsonervousmum · 02/11/2006 14:06

He finally went down to sleep at 9.15pm and thankfully slept through (in his own bed) all night!

mawbroon · 04/11/2006 14:34

Groetjes from Holland. Due to the wonders of modern technology I am able to get my fix of MN.
Johnny has started tantrumming too. He takes a dislike to going in the buggy sometimes which results in arching of his back and much wriggling. I just ignore this and manhandle him into the buggy regardless, and I deal with the food flinging in much the same way. I find he flings food more when he is getting attention, so the poor wee lamb virtually gets ignored at mealtimes so that he eats!
RTL - What do you mean by rolling pictures on MSN? Is it the emoticons?
I hope eveyone and their LOs are all well, not sure if I will get another shot of this laptop before we are home.

ponto · 06/11/2006 12:08

Hope everyone had a good weekend with the fireworks. Dd1 really hates the loud bangs but we put earplugs in and dragged them both off to a display anyway. Alice didn't seemed particularly bothered so I'm hoping that by getting her used to fireworks right from the start they won't bother her. I love fireworks .

Alice took her first steps last week, but keeps toppling onto her face - there's a big graze under her nose and I keep having to wipe it as she's got yet another cold at the moment. I feel very sorry for her. She's also doing the throwing herself on the floor thing if she doesn't get her own way, but I've not found a cure for it yet either.

ELF1981 · 06/11/2006 13:16

not a good weekend, was burgled on Sunday.
What an awful word.
About £3k worth of stuff stolen (biggest item my laptop). Could have been a lot worse.

Hope everybody else is having a better time!!

mawbroon · 06/11/2006 13:30

Oh Elf. How terrible for you. That is one of my worst fears but I am lucky enough that it has never happened. Were you in the house at the time?
Well done on the first steps Alice! Johnny is nowhere near even getting up on to his feet. He won't even stand holding on to anything. Like his mum, prefers to be on his bum!
We are still in Holland. Johnny has been adventurous in his eating and has gobbled down various Dutch dishes with delight. He really seems to love karnemelk which you don't get in the UK, but it is what is left after churning the milk for butter, so i suppose it is kind of like buttermilk, but not quite. Poor wee lamb will be thinking that sourmilk is a treat!!

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 06/11/2006 13:39

Hi all!

Make that 3 teeth!! oh and a bout of tonsilitis bless her. She is on antibiotics and they seem to be kicking in, so after a manic few days, things are settling!

I want another baby too.... but we cant afford it at the moment. DH's job is up in the air so we need to wait until we are a little more stable!

ponto · 06/11/2006 17:27

Elf, sorry to hear about the burglary, it must be awful for you. Hope things get sorted out soon.

ELF1981 · 06/11/2006 19:26

Wasn't in the house at the time, we think they disturbed them when we got home. House insurance will take care of everything, just a pain in the bum. We've never had any trouble here before, but there were loads of break ins / attempted break ins over the weekend, it's supposed to be common on bonfire. Fair nuff!

Anyway, sorry for depressing everybody!

RedTartanLass · 07/11/2006 10:30

och elf......

Seems most of us are getting the old "arching back" routine when our wee ones don't want to do something

They're not wee babies anymore, are they?

DD managed to walk across the kitchen before she realised what she was doing!! She has to walk everywhere, my back is aching from holding her wee hot podgy hand.

notsonervousmum · 07/11/2006 20:41

So sorry to hear about your break-in Elf I hope the insurance company sorts things quickly for you.

Our house is in complete disarray as the old conservatory is being pulled down and replaced. It was a 5 metres square room, so i'm sure you can all imagine how much stuff was in there, and is therefore now stuffed all over the house! It goes completely against my 'Monica' tendencies so feeling a tad stressed!

notsonervousmum · 07/11/2006 20:44

Oh and naturally Joey is taking the opportunity to be into everything he shouldn't - he's like a kid in a candy store - so is being even more hard work than usual!!

RedTartanLass · 08/11/2006 09:23

NSNM - Have an image of you as a mad, deranged, fuzzy haired madwoman (bit like the stick man in the confused.com advert) chasing a wee, mad, head banging baby out of the bombsite that is your conservatory!

Sorry shouldn't laugh

Yokefleet are you "ready" for an other one then, or are you the same as me. If it does, it does! If I don't get pregnant before the end of the year, then DP's off for the snip.

Ponto I must admit I was a wee bit relieved to hear about the "tantrums" I was begginning to think that Scarlett had entered the terrible twos early!

Mawbroon You back yet?

mawbroon · 08/11/2006 19:03

Hello all. That's us back from our trip to Holland. The crossings were very calm but Johnny wouldn't settle during the night. Cue me lying breastfeeding him all night so that he wouldn't howl and waken the whole blooming boat. I was also feeding him any time he squeaked through the night when we were there so he didn't wake the others in the house. As a result, I am having to wear my bigger size nursing bra again . We are getting strict again as of tonight and doing controlled crying if need be. He was just getting too used to it I think. I was joking with DH that any time I have a night out (hypothetical - we never go out!!) then I should bf through the night for a week beforehand to get myself a better cleavage.

RedTartanLass · 08/11/2006 19:23

MB glad you enjoyed your trip, lol at the big boobs for going out ideA!!!!
