Happy Birthday to Joey!

If we are counting teeth, Johnny has seven and a bit like Evie has huge bulging gums at the back, serious grumpiness and drooling, but still no back teeth!
I went to the GP today to discuss what we are going to do about Johnny's allergy. He has referred me to the paedeatrics department at the hospital for tests so I will hear soon when we have to go there. I think that they will take a blood sample which will be fun and games, but it will be good to know for definite if it is an egg allergy. I am glad that the GP took me seriously as you only have to read a few MN threads to see that some of them are useless.

Joey's going to stay overnight for the first time at my mum's tonight - DP is taking me to see Keane in concert at Brighton. I'm really worried about leaving him, as he's still got a cold and can get very grizzly at bed time even with me there, so goodness only knows how he'll be with my mum. DP wants me to write a 'bedtime routine' list to give them, but i don't want to offend anyone (after all, my mum did a good enough job of raising me and my sister!). Any advice?

mawbroon · 25/10/2006 09:23

Sorry, NSNM, not much advice as I haven't left Johnny overnight at all, not even with DH. You could always write the list so your dp thinks you have and then "accidentally" leave it at home by mistake. That sounds a bit devious though when I read it back. I wrote a list one time for PILs when they had Johnny for a few hours and genuinely did forget to bring it with me and of course Johnny was none the worse for it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY REBECCA!!!!

RedTartanLass · 25/10/2006 09:42

Thanks for al the birthday wishes for Scarlett. Happy birhtday to wee Johnny as well, poor wee soul, no birthday cake for him.

NSNM - If you leave Joey with something of yours that "smells" of you, that might help settle him. What about stuffing his favourite teddy under your jumper today and letting that get your smell. However not advisable if you're off to Tesco's!!! I'm sure he'll be fine and enjoy your night out!! DP and I are staying the night out next SAturday and I just can't wait!! We haven't got any family that can look after the babies, (apart from DS1 buit he's at uni)so our nanny is going to mind them. I've decided I'm not going to drink so I can appreciate the morning after!! Ahhh no 6.30am wakeup!!

R&BM - Happy birthday Rebecca!!

notsonervousmum · 25/10/2006 09:46

Hayy birthday Rebecca Hope you have a great day!

Thanks Mawbroon. He's been left with DP overnight before, i'm just worried because he's never been left with anyone else for more than a few hours before, and we'll have to leave him from 4pm this afternoon. I'm getting myself so worked up about it i'm even contemplating not going (which would be a shame, as i love Keane, and i could really do with a night out). I'm sure i will still go, but i'll be worrying about Joey the whole time. When i did a 2 hour work course and left him with my mum, i spent the whole time checking my phone, paranoid that he would have done something and need to be rushed to hospital. In all reality, he did nothing of the sort, was happily playing with his toys, and hadn't even realised i had gone till i got back!

mawbroon · 25/10/2006 10:53

Happy Birthday Rebecca

notsonervousmum · 25/10/2006 16:25

Hmm, it would appear greater forces were at work regarding this evening - all day, i've been gathering momentum on my worrying about going, then my sister phoned an hour ago to say she'd broken down on the M25 and wouldn't be back in time, so we've had to cancel anyway! I'm a bit disappointed, but secretly relieved. The only thing is, my DP is now calling me a witch - he thinks i've deliberately jinxed it

mawbroon · 25/10/2006 18:03

Oh no NSNM!! Is there anyone else you know can use the tickets? It would seem a shame to waste them, but you won't have to worry about leaving Joey

ELF1981 · 25/10/2006 19:33

Sorry you didn't get your night out NSNM.

Hope Rebecca had a lovely birthday J&RM!

MB - how's the time keeping going for your mindees mum?

mawbroon · 26/10/2006 10:43

Oh, she is still awful Elf, but nowhere near as bad as she was. Anyway, I'm not going to rant too much in case she is a mumsnetter.
One of Johnny's back teeth has finally made an apperance, but he is still miserable. He has the cold but I am not sure if it is a new cold, or the same one that he has had for almost a fortnight. Greeners on my boobs at feeding time, lovely.

notsonervousmum · 26/10/2006 15:00

Hope Johnny feels better soon, Mawbroon. Joey seemed to get a cold on top of a cold, but hopefully he's over the worst now.

Well, i have made progress on the childminder front. I finally sent an e-mail to the ones listed on the childminder site, and 2 have got back to me so far. Ironically the cheapest and the most expensive ones! I'm going to see them next week, one on Monday, and one on Thursday. Fingers crossed

ELF1981 · 26/10/2006 18:41

Took Evelyn to the HV today - she's 20lbs 10 and that IN her clothes & nappy.
Skinny minnie.

Do your docs do the new injection at different times or at same time as MMR jab?

mawbroon · 27/10/2006 08:04

Thanks NSNM - we had a bad night last night and I think he's got croup, he has the barking cough and rasping breathing. He seems ok now he's awake, but it is distressing for him (and me!) through the night.

Elf - we get the MMR and the pneumo at the same time when they are around 13 months. Evie does sound like a skinny minnie! But then shes been walking for ages which is probably a contributary factor. Johnny weighed in at 22lbs 14oz the other day which is just above the 50th centile.

I went to collect my 4 yo mindee from nursery the other day. The nursery teacher was talking to my mindee, and she called me GRAN!! FFS I am a young(ish) 34 with all my own teeth. GRAN! I was mortified. I suppose it's theoretically possible for me to have a 4 yo grandson but FFS. Oh well, there's a first time for everything.

notsonervousmum · 27/10/2006 10:10

Sorry to hear you had a bad night Mawbroon. It's horrible when they're poorly isn't it. Hope Johnny feels better soon.

Both jabs at the same time here for us too. Joey should have had his last Tuesday, but i had to postpone it in view of his cold. He's been rescheduled for a fortnight's time.

Wow! Joey weighs 25Ib in the buff! He's just above the 75th centile. Having said that, he's not put any on for a while, which i'm putting down to him walking.

notsonervousmum · 28/10/2006 08:42

How's Johnny this morning Mawbroon?

ELF1981 · 28/10/2006 08:52

Hope Johnny is feeling better MB.
at being called Gran!
I remember when I was 15 and I walked to a local park with a baby cousin of mine, and his brother who was 14. Some dizzy woman made a tutting comment about how young people were having families now! I about wet myself laughing!

Evelyn isnt very well, feel like I havent slept at all. She has flaming cheeks and feeling miserable - crying in her sleep, coughing herself awake, and generally doesn't seem like herself. Here for a better night for all of us with non sleeping / poorly babies!

mawbroon · 28/10/2006 10:37

Oh dear Elf, sounds horrible for Evie. Johnny was much better last night NSNM and actually slept from 7pm until 5.30am and then through until 7.15am after a quick feed. I put a pillow under his mattres so that his head is raised slightly, so I don't know if that's what helped or if he was just better generally. He is still making a rasping noise when he is breathing, but the barking cough is gone. I hope he is better before we go to Holland on wednesday. It's DH grandfathers 90th birthday and we are going over for a week. We are going to the coldest windiest part!! I can't wait for someone to ask if we are going somewhere nice on holiday!

mawbroooooooooon · 30/10/2006 09:56

Hope all the babies who were under the weather are on the mend. Johnny still isn't 100% but is way better than he was. I am having a bit of a Hallowe'en party tonight for my mindees as they are not coming here tomorrow. I did some of the decorations this morning and Johnny couldn't stop staring at them when I took him into the living room this morning. I hope he isn't scared by the scary noises CD that I bought. What a bargain. It is one hour of creepy noises, cats miaowing, doors creaking, people moaning etc etc and it cost 94p! My mindees will probably need therapy after this afternoon!

notsonervousmum · 30/10/2006 13:43

Have a good Halloweeen party Mawbroon

We've found a childminder! She's the first one we've seen, and she is perfect! Joey was really comfortable with her, the house is properly geared up for children, and as she only got her registration earlier this summer, Joey will currently be her only 'paying' child (in addition to her own son who goes to pre-school in the mornings anyway) so he will get lots of attention. I'm so pleased, and thanks to everyone, particularly Mawbroon and Elf (your lift of Q's came in very handy!). He's going for a trial on Wednesday.

notsonervousmum · 30/10/2006 13:44

oops - one too many 'e's in halloween

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 30/10/2006 13:44

YAY!!!!!!!! We finally no longer have Becky our One Tooth Wonder, we now have Becky our TWO TOOTH TERROR!!!

About time!!!

RedTartanLass · 30/10/2006 15:11

Eeek, can you think of any other reason for feeling nauseous than .......you know what!! Had a period a couple of weeks ago so surely not......

notsonervousmum · 30/10/2006 16:12

OMG RTL! That's scary! Would you like to have another baby? The prospect of me having another one at the moment, even though i would eventually like one (god willing!), is frankly terrifying!

Yay on Rebecca becoming a '2 teeth terror'

jessicaandrebeccasmummy · 30/10/2006 16:14

ooooooooooh RTL!!! You go girl!!!

I have some latest pics of the girls for you next time you are on MSN

Im going for number 3 next year - april time we think! I must be mad!
