ELF1981 · 18/05/2007 13:24

By the way, hope everybody else is okay

mawbroon · 18/05/2007 13:58

at studying Elf. I am not one of life's studiers I'm afraid. Did some work exams a few years back and it was a shock to the system I tell you! Really makes me PMSL that the teachers all thought I should go to Uni when I was quite obviously too bone idle!

We are officially moving on June 9th but as we are moving into PILs house then we can do it in dribs and drabs. Hope yours starts moving for you soon Elf. I am at having to fork out a grand in estate agent fees when the house was on the market for one week, and they only had to organise x3 viewers as the second ones offered. AND they produced the most unprofessional property schedule where they hadn't even spelled the street name correctly ffs and that was AFTER I pointed it out to them.

Johnny is coping remarkably well with all the upset and packing etc etc. He is picking up new signs at a rate of knots and is also starting to repeat words I say in an almost recognisable fashion! Still no walking though!

DontlookatmeImanervouswreck · 18/05/2007 21:52

Good luck with the exams Elf. Is this the AAT stuff.

Not much happening here. Ds is still a bit snotty, was off colour yesterday and had a high temp at bedtime but seemed perfectly fine again this morning.

I saw a tiny little newborn at toddler group today and am having a severe attack of broodiness.

Yokefleet · 19/05/2007 06:47

Hello everyone, not been able to get on line in ages as we have been having some work done on the house and everything is upside down!
Been up with Thomas who is teething since 2.45 this morning I am knackered! That has cured my broodiness for a while sleepless nights seemed such a distant memory until last night.(dlamianw there seem to be loads of new "tiny" babies on our estate and I don't remember Thomas ever being that small but he must have been I guess!)
Good luck with the studying and exams Elf, hope things start shifting with your house soon.
Great news about your move MB, we had a similar problem with our estate agent when we let our house out, gave them the instuction to market it for rent and within 2hrs of that we had our tenant wanting to sign up for it and it cost us £550
Has anything else happened with work SM sounds like they are being really crappy with you, hope it gets sorted soon.
We are supposed to be up and out early this morning to the supermarket before it gets manic but just at the minute I can't be arsed to move from this seat will have to move as ds is on his way for a hug!
Have a good weekend all

Love

Hannah & Thomas

Poor wee Johnny. We were driving home just before tea time and he started crying in the car which he never ever does. Next thing is that he has vomitted everywhere followed by another 4 bouts of projectile vomitting. I was on the motorway just about to turn off the slip road for home, so there wasn't a lot that I could do for him and we were home in 5 mins. He was sobbing and shaking, so we got him washed and changed and I gave him a breastfeed. My immediate thought was that he must have eaten some egg, but turns out MIL had a nasty bug yesterday and I think he has picked it up as well. He then puked another 3 times before we put him to bed at 7pm. He's asleep and hasn't been sick since, but he was so pale and clingy. He has only been sick one other time, other than possetting when he was tiny, so I suppose it had to happen sooner or later. I felt so sorry for the wee lamb.

YF sorry to hear about the teething troubles. 2.45am is no fun I'm sure.

mawbroon · 20/05/2007 12:06

Hmmm, sick at 12midnight, then 4am (all over me and the bed meaning I had to have a shower!) and then he slept until 9.10am!! He was sick again at 9.30am but now he has managed to keep down a rice cake, breastmilk and water. When he saw dh run the bathroom tap, he started whimpering and pointing to the water. he was so thirsty that he drunk about 200mls without stopping for breath. At least the weather is nice today for drying all the loads and loads of washing which this episode has generated!!

mawbroon · 20/05/2007 21:10

Here's how our day panned out...

DontlookatmeImanervouswreck · 20/05/2007 23:42

Aww poor Johnny. Hope he gets it out of his system soon. I saw your other thread earlier!. Can't believesomeof the advice so-called professionals give.

Ds has had d&v twice and both times all he would eat and keep down was breastmilk in 'small and often' doses.

Don't be too worried if it takes him a few days-week to start eating properly again either.

ELF1981 · 21/05/2007 12:46

MB - utterly about the advise the hospital gave you.
I'm glad you got good replies on your other thread. I couldn't believe she said Ribena with all the health warnings about it written on the bottle!!

hope Johnny is better soon

mawbroon · 21/05/2007 13:00

Thanks girls. At least we saw a GP this morning who agreed that breastfeeding was the best thing for him.
So, I have a sick toddler and a buyer for the house who is mucking us around with entry dates. Lots of phone calls and carry on as you would imagine and of course the possibility that we might have to put the house back on the market.
Never a dull moment....

Yokefleet · 21/05/2007 13:02

mb hope Johnny is on the mend now. Did they not give him anything to stop the sickness? Thomas was given some meds that stopped the sickness so that he could take his penicillan. The advice you were given sounds stupid to me
Thomas is still un-settled with his teeth but we are about to take him out to the park which I hope will cheer him up!

Good news, Johnny is much better today. No D or V since 10pm last night and he has kept down some apple and rice cake. He is farting for Scotland though and my goodness it pongs!! He is still pale and clingy and looks and feels like he has lost a load of weight the wee soul. We went out to the post office and I had him covered in a towel just in case and he looked so sad with his wee pale face sticking out of the towel One plus side is that he and I snuggled up together last night and neither of us woke until 10am!! I haven't had that late a lie in since before he was born!

stinkymalinki · 22/05/2007 20:15

Glad to hear Johnny is on the mend Mawbroon. As a health professional myself, i'm , , and at the bad advice you were given. Ribena indeed!

It was my birthday yesterday Mum babysat Joey for the afternoon, so we could have a proper 'grown-up' lunch, and when we got back, they'd made me a cake and everything! Back to reality today though, with Joey having a complete melt-down in Sainsburys just because i wouldn't let him put all and sundry in the trolley!!

Hope everyone's ok, SM x

mawbroon · 22/05/2007 21:09

Belated happy birthday StinkyMalinki! Sounds like a nice time How is your work situation at the mo?
I took Johnny to the clinic today to see just exactly how much weight he had lost. Not very scientific because I don't know what his weight was just before he got ill, but a month ago, he was 12.5kg and today he was 11.8kg, so he has lost 0.7kg plus whatever he had put on in the last month, so I would guess over a kilo in total . Luckily he wasn't a lightweight beforehand, so the weight loss isn't really here nor there.

ELF1981 · 22/05/2007 22:19

Happy belated birthday SM!

Yokefleet · 23/05/2007 18:49

sm Happy belated birthday!
Just put Thomas to bed having put up a new mirrored door wardrobe opposite his bed, he has gone to bed waving frantickly(sp?) at his reflection and is still chattering away to himself

OP posts:
mawbroon · 23/05/2007 19:02

LOL re the mirrored doors YF.

Johnny threw up his breakfast of half a pear this morning and did an explosive diarrhoea nappy. He did keep down some banana and a breadstick at 5pm though so here's hoping! My poor nipples are starting to get sore but luckily I have found my old tube of Lansinoh. My complaint letter to the hospital is in the post today.
I am hoping that things are going to start getting back to normal tomorrow....

stinkymalinki · 23/05/2007 20:48

Thanks everyone. Work situation still not sorted, as i'm currently on a week's annual leave, but i'm planning to tackle it when i go back next week, as i'm due my appraisal anyway.

Sorry to hear Johnny's still poorly Mawbroon. I hope he feels better soon.

Yokefleet · 24/05/2007 07:45

a whole hour of chattering toddler last night! I think you could say he liked the new wardrobes!
Elf hope the studying is going ok.
dlaminw Is your ds better now?
sm hope you are enjoying your hols
mb Hope Johnny is feeling better now? Have you got definate dates for your move now or is it still up in the air?
We are waiting in today for some replacement flooring (some we got last week was damaged in transit) I really need to get to the shops so I bet the floor doesn't come til late afternoon when Thomas is ready for his nap

Have a good day all.

ELF1981 · 24/05/2007 08:27

studying is going well, got exams in less than a month, eeek.

Sorry to hear that Johnny is still poorly, there are some terrible bugs going around here at the moment Luckily so far Evelyn has been fine, but she seems to pick stuff up!

YF - lol about the mirrors, Evelyn when she is climbing up the stairs gets very excited about the mirror hanging across the room, so she'll wave at herself across the room, bless.

SM - hope the work sit gets sorted soon, enjoy your holiday.

DLAMIANW - how are you and the family?

ELF1981 · 24/05/2007 08:28

Oh yes, serious question - if you were sending your little one to a childminders, and regularly came to pick her up to find one particular girl had pushed them, hit them on the head with toys, bit them and scratch them, what would you do??

mawbroon · 24/05/2007 15:28

How old is the other girl in question Elf? Have you raised it with the cm yet?

Johnny has managed to eat a banana and a couple of crackers today and not barf everyhwhere! He has started pulling stuff out of the carousel in the kitchen (it's allowed and it's all plastic) and pulling all the packing materials out of the box in the livingroom. I think this shows he's a bit better today and I never thought I would be so pleased to see him making a mess!!

YF - we are selling on 13th July now, but the buyers haven't signed yet so theoretically it is still up in the air. Like my neighbour said, offers don't jingle and I will take the view that it's not over until the money is in the bank! Especially since I used to work in a mortgage call centre and had to deal with people in tears on a friday just around close of business with all their things in a removal van and nowhere to go and nothing that can be done about their mortgage funds until monday morning. Ours is all organised [smug] but of course I have no idea about our buyers....

ELF1981 · 24/05/2007 17:14

MB - she's at least three.
The CM has been VERY good about it, but neither of us can understand why Evelyn gets a total battering!

DontlookatmeImanervouswreck · 24/05/2007 22:40

MB-Glad to hear Johnny is getting better.

SM -Belated Happy Birthday.

YF-lol at the mirrored wardrobes.

Elf-Poor Evie, hope you manage to sort it out.

It's all pretty uneventful in the Dlam household at the moment. I had my birthday yesterday too. Had a nice day but felt a bit down about my age, think I might be about to have a mid-life crisis

Yokefleet · 25/05/2007 07:43

ELF can you or the cm have a quiet word with her parents about it? I don't know what to suggest really
DLAMINW a belated happy birthday to you! Hope you had a lovely day. Are you now registered as a cm?
MB fingers crossed that all goes smoothly with your move! When we sold ours I was on edge until the money went in to our account as I knew that anything could happen before that point! Our previous house was bought in a rising market and we always felt that the sellars were going to up the price just before it got to exchange, I don't ever want to move house again!
We are going up to Yorkshire tomorrow for a flying visit just stopping one night as Thomas doesn't sleep well in the travel cot as it is much smaller then his own cot and Thomas turns 360 degrees in the night several times! We are going to pick my sister & niece up from her ex husbands wedding (she must be mad!) and visit my nan & dh's family then dash home to enjoy the rest of the bank holiday.
Hope you all have a lovely long weekend x
