Happy Birthday to Joey!

Evelyn is very attached to a very small pink fluffy coat and even though it is very cool she will still fetch it to put it on and gets very upset when I say no.
Must hide the damn thing!

ELF1981 · 08/05/2007 16:37

added new pics on my profile btw

Yokefleet · 09/05/2007 10:32

elf lovely photos! Evie looks sooo grown up
JARM Good to see you back on the thread, Becca's sleeping sounds fab!
mb Glad Johnny is on the mend. He is enjoying the extra freedom at the moment then? I hope your house sells quickly as I know how hard it is. Thomas isn't really attached to any one thing that I can think of.
sm Hope Joey is getting over his cold. Good news about your house but not about your mums.
We are off to Ikea again this afternoon Thomas loves going. Think DH thinks I forget to buy something each time just so that we have to go back again

What are your lot doing talking wise? We are still getting grunts with the odd mumma, dadda, boo thrown in for good measure.

Im not overly concerned, im sure its because Jessi talks enough for the 2 of them!

Glad to hear all the "babies" are doing well though

Yokefleet · 09/05/2007 18:22

JARM Thomas doesn't say many words but chatters for wales! we have mumma,NO, boo, oh wow & dadda sometimes and thats about it!

Evelyn is a little chatter box, she can say lots of names, she can do a few colours and quite a few words. They're not 100% clear, but I know what she means.
She'll even tell us when she has done a poo, "daddy, pooh!" lovely!

DontlookatmeImanervouswreck · 09/05/2007 21:09

lol love how Evelyn says "daddy pooh" Are they specially reseved for daddy then

Hello again JARM, congrats on the pregnancy.

Glad to hear Johnny's runny nose isclearing up.

Well my Ofsted inspection went well and all else being well I should be registered in a few weeks. Ds was really well behaved while she was her bless him(apart from trying to grab her laptop lol)

ELF1981 · 09/05/2007 21:22

woohoo on the inspection DLAMIS

stinkymalinki · 09/05/2007 21:33

Anyone elses LO got too many toys already? Joey has got hundreds, most of which he never plays with (gifts from relatives mostly), so i'm going to do a mass cull again soon, before my house gets taken over with dayglo plastic!

Joey's cold is much better than it was, but he's still not totally right, particularly at night. He still sleeps through, but takes much longer to get to that stage, and the poor lamb kept waking himself up with his coughing last night

Joey can say lots, although most of it is probably only translatable by me and DH! Having said that, he is getting to the stage of trying to repeat what we say - eg, my sister is called Christine, and when i said it the other day, Joey suddenly said 'Nisnene' and pointed to her. V cute!

stinkymalinki · 09/05/2007 21:34

And well done on the inspection DLAMIS

ELF1981 · 09/05/2007 21:36

(havent told my dad yet but was reading Heat the other day and there was a picture of Parky, Evelyn got very excited, pointed and said "deedah" which is what she calls my dad. LOL)

mawbroon · 09/05/2007 22:16

Only one clear word from Johnny so far which is "Daddy" but often he will attempt a word which I have just said and although it is not recognisable as a word, it is obvious that he is copying the sounds. He makes himself understood pretty well with signing and also other noises and gestures. When it's windy, he makes a little puffing/blowing noise, he makes a noise like the hoover when he sees it and can do loads of animal noises too. He also goes "mmmmm" when he smells any cooking.

We have too many toys. I decluttered for the viewing and took two big boxes away, and that still left enough to fill the toy trunk. He isn't that fussed about toys and is just as happy playing with a plastic bottle or a dishcloth.

LOL re Parky Elf. Will your Dad take it as a compliment or not?

mawbroon · 09/05/2007 22:17

And well done DLAMIS. First hurdle over!

ELF1981 · 09/05/2007 22:54

Not sure about my dad and Parky! Dad will probably be very flattered that she thought of him though. I have a pic of my mum and dad in the house and she will point at it and said "deedah, mamar" for them, bless.

mawbroon · 11/05/2007 09:20

Wooo we've had an offer on our house with a date of entry at the end of June. Just waiting to hear if it's all confirmed so not getting too excited just yet....
johnny's runny nose cleared up, but today he is back to thick green snot. Now I am wondering if it's the same infection or if he has a new one. Poor chap, although he seems ok with it all and has even learned to blow his nose when I ask him to!

Yokefleet · 12/05/2007 08:46

MB hope Johnny is better today! and fingers crossed on your buyer!

OP posts:
mawbroon · 14/05/2007 11:29

Oh I don't know what is going on with Johnny. He was fine and then yesterday, he suddenly got a temperature and was so blocked up that he couldn't breastfeed. This is only the second time ever that he hasn't been able to suck. then, this morning, he's right as rain. Mystery!

The buyers surveyer is coming any minute. They have offered subject to survey and if it surveys ok (which it will) then we have a definite offer and will be out of here in a couple of weeks. Yippee, but not yippee to all the disruption of course.

Elf, how are the boobs now?

ELF1981 · 14/05/2007 13:22

they're fine now MB took a while to settle down but they're back to normal now (although it seems odd all the changes they have gone through with being pg & then feeding, I had forgotten what "usual" felt like!)

Still now buyer on our house (sigh) but yippee for you MB!

Hope everybody is well & all their babies are fine. I'm a little worried about Evelyn - she seems to have shot upwards but not put any weight on so her clothes are too short but falling off her again

stinkymalinki · 14/05/2007 20:24

I wouldn't worry too much Elf - Joey's had another growth spurt and is really tall now, yet the 18-24 months clothes are still too baggy round the middle for him (and he's not a small lad!).

Being hassled at work and i'm not sure what to do about it. My DH and i both work at the same place, always have, and they know we have to share child care therefore we have to work opposite shifts. Up until now this hasn't been a problem, but now my manager keeps complaining and wants a formal meeting to 'discuss our childcare provisions'. FFS! It's not as if they've changed! A colleague thinks they are bullying, and that i should go to HR about it, but i don't want to upset the apple cart - at the end of the day, we can't afford for me to not work. Any sage suggestions? SM x

ELF1981 · 14/05/2007 20:25

Stinky.
You could speak to your HR department to make them aware. You should be protected from all this kind of stuff so if your boss is over stepping the mark, your HR department should know.

mawbroon · 14/05/2007 21:43

That sounds a bit crap stinky. I have no idea of the legal/rights etc, but I would be inclined to think that the fact that you are talking about care for the same child shouldn't make any odds IYSWIM. In other words, they wouldn't pull two independent colleagues in for a meeting because the management couldn't figure the rotas. I don't know if I am explaining that well hopefully you understand what i am on about.

Re growth spurts, Johnny is stretching a bit too but he is certainly not skinny!! He is still a bit of a baby shape and has a couple of rolls left on his legs, but I presume that he will finally lose that when he starts walking. He can stand unaided for about a whole second now! He usually does it when he wants to do the sign for a train and then plops down on his bum when he realises that he isn't holding on!

stinkymalinki · 16/05/2007 14:06

Thanks Guys. I'm definitely going to have to speak to HR about it, as the off-duty has got worse for June - instead of putting us each on, say, 3 consecutive days each, they've given us a single day each, opposite each other, for a week (not explaining myself very well, but i'm down to work Mon, Weds, Fri; and he's down to work Tues, Thurs, Sat)! Completely unnecessary, as we're both in charge, so they're obviously deliberately being awkward I also had to take Joey into work with me to then hand over to DH as i was going on a day shift and DH was finishing a night. Not only do i not like doing that, but i'm sure it must be some form of health and safety violation?!?

Joey's vocabulary has suddenly improved - he can now clearly 'parrot' words back. Time to be more mindful of what i say, especially when moaning about the A-holes at work then!!

mawbroon · 18/05/2007 08:23

All very quiet round here. Everyone ok?

ELF1981 · 18/05/2007 13:22

just busy at the mo, got exams in a months time so trying not to post too much on mumsnet (thought did get dragged in on a few Madeline threads) and study instead!!

We had a registery of interest on our house (not an official offer as they haven't sold theirs yet) but at least we're heading in the right direction!!
