No yanbu bloody cheek. I'm sure the big issue would not be happy to hear that she was doing that.

Maryland2013 · 29/11/2014 21:28

Spotty dont do any last minute shopping before NYC- do any shopping there, miles cheaper!!!
Congrats, hope your DN will be better soon

SpottyTeacakes · 29/11/2014 21:37

Oh I know I just need to exchange something and dp needs a couple of jumpers. Need to get some dollars too.

She's hoping they'll be out tomorrow morning but from my vast experience I think they'll be in a bit longer.

WLmum · 29/11/2014 22:21

spotty when do you fly? Exciting! Can't you send DH to the shops with the dc while you visit your sister? Wink

halestone · 29/11/2014 22:42

YANBU WL i think thats quite mean of her to make you feel bad most people just walk past Big Issue sellers so your doing far more than most.

Spotty i bet you can't wait for NYC.

halestone · 29/11/2014 22:43

i forgot to say WL i hope T gets over chicken pox quickly, hopefully they won't bother her too much.

WLmum · 29/11/2014 22:45

Thanks ladies. It makes me want to avoid her but I feel mean about that too.

SpottyTeacakes · 30/11/2014 05:59

WL you shouldn't feel guilty.

We only have one car so can't go separately! They're still in hospital anyway and SCBU rules on visitors are usually only siblings and grandparents.

We fly Wednesday morning I'm sooo excited! Nervous about leaving dc though.

halestone · 30/11/2014 06:56

Is it even possible for a child to get excited for her 2nd birthday? H woke up at 6am and has since talked non stop mostly about 'my birthday 7th dcemba' 'me 2'. When asked what she wants for a present has consistantly asked for a teddy despite the house being full of teddy's Shes told Dp she's getting balloons, red and purple ones apparently and that she can 'blow candles' also apparently shes going to 'share'. Her excitement is infectious i cannot wait till next sunday now Grin

WLmum · 30/11/2014 10:01

Bless her hales

PurplePidjin · 30/11/2014 11:45

hales not to that level of understanding but R was definitely excited about his birthday activities - especially meeting the ILs for swimming :o

H's bum and legs are covered in red spots but she has no signs of illness. Although she has poo'd alot today. Any suggestions what they could be, we havn't changed our washing powders or conditioner and there not bites.

WLmum · 30/11/2014 21:27

What are they like hales rashly or more actual spots?

halestone · 30/11/2014 23:15

hard to describe there more like actual spots but there definately not spots. She also seems to have come out in loads of patches of excema which tbh she hasn't had for a while.

SpottyTeacakes · 01/12/2014 02:25

Dd's got another chest infection. Off to the drs tomorrow. It sounds awfully selfish but I'm meant to be going out to lunch with my best friend tomorrow and could really do with dd being at school!!

utopian99 · 01/12/2014 03:01

Could it be something else as an allergy hales? New bath wash/soap? New towel, not washed since buying?
Sweet about her birthday though..

spotty boo to chest infection, but yay to nyc soon! A has a horrible cold, but being only 2.5 weeks old all we can do is keep feeding as much as possible and give the saline nose spray. I keep trying to find him a better position to feed in tonight, which is pulling a bit on the section scar. Ouch. Ruddy stupid damn section. Angry

Thanks all for the sling clothing advice, I think once the cold abates a bit I'll crack out some little jumper/tights/bottoms for going out to go over the sleep suit in cold weather.

O can now write his letters C, V, S, W, O, B, A (after a fashion,) and Q (random, that one.) With his finger, I hasten to add - we're still working on the three fingers pencil grip. Am hoping that even if language takes forever, we'll be able to write notes to each other at this rate! Grin

utopian99 · 01/12/2014 03:03

Oops and E. It's all thanks to hairy letters, which was a wl tip off yonks ago. He loves the hairies!

WLmum · 01/12/2014 09:23

That's amazing utopian but I don't recall any hairy letters?!
spotty could you relocate the lunch to your house - snuggle dd up on the sofa with a DVD while you and your pal have lunch - get some yummy bits in from waitrose deli.
hales the spots might be ezcema too - dd2 had some spots for ages which were very different to her normal eczema and the dr said it was infected eczema - I was v surprised. Anti bs and all gone. Keep an eye on them for a few days.

Poor T is still getting spottier. 4 wakes last night [yawn]. I think her face and head spots are a bit sore so wake her when she rubs her face on the sheet. Looks like her 18 mo cousin has it too - they usually hang out together with dm/dmil on a Thursday so I'm not surprised.

MrsNutella · 01/12/2014 09:29

Hairy letters sound cool though Utopian well done O!

DD has managed to scratch herself in her ear. It looks worse than it is because of me trying to clean it, there is now a large bloody blob in her ear.

halestone · 01/12/2014 11:03

We have just changed the bath wash so it could be that, it also could be her Excema thank you both.

Wow Utopian thats so clever of O, what are hairy letters?

Spotty i like WL's idea of relocating lunch to your house if its feasable? Also i hope Dd is better soon.

WL bless T, i hope the pox stop annoying her soon so that her and you can get a better nights sleep. Thanks

halestone · 01/12/2014 11:03

Aww Nutella bless H, My H is always scratching herself or me

MrsNutella · 01/12/2014 12:27

Oh god. I feel like the worst mum ever.

DD woke earlier than is normal for her this morning. While DH took DS to nursery I boobed her back to sleep. About 15-20 minutes later DH came home and managed to wake her up - fair enough he hadn't expected her to be asleep. I hoped DD might fall asleep in the car when we picked up DS.
Of course she didn't.
Managed to get DD to sleep when we got home. Of course DS doesn't understand shhhhh, be quiet or "shut up" or even how to speak quietly Confused. So he came over to see what I was doing and prattled on about aeroplanes and birds and whatever until he finally declares "baby girl Wake" yes she fucking was, I wonder why?!

After the shouty mum fest that was lunch I took DS up for his nap and left DD in the pushchair in the hallway. She screamed and screamed and screamed. Poor love was so tired. I came downstairs feeling awful for having to let DD cry. She has gone to sleep.

I feel awful because she cried herself to sleep but also so grateful that she is asleep - when sleep was what she desperately needed. Sad

WLmum · 01/12/2014 13:20

utopian poor little A having a rotten cold already. Have you tried the rugby ball hold for feeding - big pile of cushions at your side to lay A on and then he sort of comes round under your armpit to your boob. Don't know about helping his cold but might help with your c section - just be careful not to twist

WLmum · 01/12/2014 13:25

nutella don't be hard on yourself. Any parent of more than 1 child will tell you there are just times when one child has to cry and wait. You can't be in two places at once and it won't have done her any harm. Promise.

MrsNutella · 01/12/2014 14:01

WL you're right, I just heard her last few whimpers as I came downstairs and I was happy that she stopped crying but at the same time those little whimpers were heart breaking. She was on her own about 15 ish minutes I think. But I cant be in two places at once. I know.

I'm probably also still rattled by the PIL. It appears they don't approve of DS going to nursery. On the plus side FIL admitted that he isn't fit enough to run around after DS. But they also want to take DS to a Christmas market and let him have a ride on a carousel. Yeah I know I really really should ignore them. I'll have to talk to DH about it all again. Confused
