Grin Date - wasn't a date really, more of an arrangement to have lots of sex. So in that sense it was very successful! GrinGrinGrin Phewweee! The fake tan - used a Clarins body butter thing, lovely colour, dead easy, no streaks. The bloke - 6ft 5 giant next to my 5ft 2. Longest muscular thighs in the world, broad broad shoulders, very lovely. Spent 14 hours in bed. With a bottle of Bolly. ShockShockShockWinkShockWinkShockGrinGrinGrin What a nice way to start a New Year!
OiMissus · 02/01/2015 23:00

(And we didn't have dinner, but did exercise, so that counts into the getting fit resolution, and not spending money! - I'd bought the Bolly months ago so that didn't count.)

OiMissus · 02/01/2015 23:15

And it certainly made me happy - so all resolutions achieved in Day 1.
Day 2 spent money only on Tesco essentials. No fitness, but no alcohol - so ok . Still smiling.
= resolutions going ok so far !

Figster · 03/01/2015 11:09

Jings Oi you are a legend the Idea of rudies with another fella makes me all wibbly 12 years with the same man will do that to you I guess Grin

We off to PIL tonight for takeaway then Xmas 2 tomorrow with them as not seen them yet or SIL, Bil and their lo more presents to find space for Confused

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 03/01/2015 14:29

V jealous of the shagnanigans (thanks to K for that word). MiniHop and Boi had a playdate yesterday.

Have fun figgy, and good luck with finding space for more toys.

My new years resolutions - do more running; doing a half marathon in April so have stared the training (officially it starts on Sunday but I've been out once this week and am planning on running later today) and stop spending money on shit/get better grip on finances. What's everyone else planning on doing in 2015?

OiMissus · 03/01/2015 14:43

I am not a legend. But needs must!
Shagnanigans. Grin ha ha!
It's so nice just to "want" rudies again! And be excited about the prospect. I can't wait for the flirtation to re commence on Monday. Grin

Figster · 03/01/2015 17:17

I've just blown over a hundred quid in primark and the monsoon sale without even trying .....hop I may join you in your financial grip getting. After this months AF trying to get pg my Dbro announced they were pg on Xmas Eve she's only 6 wks or so will hopefully be close behind her which is funny as their lo 7mo older than ds it'll look quite deliberate.

Hoho Early Years funding starts this month hello 15hrs free childcare not that it'll make a massive difference here since he's now going pre school 1 day a week so pay the cm those days to keep his place when it's non term time.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 03/01/2015 19:34

Early years funding has knocked £150 off our bill each month!

Aethelfleda · 04/01/2015 10:25

Yeah, but DS was born just after 1st Jan, so he has to wait another 3 months to get it (as will Octoboy!)
Grr for stupid cutoffs, why can't they just say "on third birthday"? Oh yes, because that would be sensible... (And this way delays it and reduces the amount they have to pay, while still sounding all generous...)

Faffin · 04/01/2015 15:55

I feel your pain aethel. DD was born in April so we had to wait until the sept before we got hers. Feel like we did quite well with DS being born in dec!

Aethelfleda · 04/01/2015 22:42

It's not so much the actual amount of cash, more just irritating that it's so illogical (as are so many of the UK's tax/benefit/finance rules).
Admittedly they have tweaked stamp duty recently, but there are so many weird bits in so many circumstances!
Anyway, back to the important things in Life: can we have a Bolly- tracker emoticon for oi?? .....

Hope the poorly beebs are all becoming less poorly by the way. DD2 and DS have been running on Calpol and Neurofen the last 3 days or so... Just hope they are all good for back to school/nursery tomorrow as I have a rare proper potential (half) day off!.... What to do with a heady four hours child-free, people??

OiMissus · 04/01/2015 23:36

4 hrs?
Well, as much as I'd love to proffer something WineWine Bolly-licious, I've just spent the last 6 hours tidying and ironing.
Sad
In tomorrow's 4 hrs after work, I may take on the Utility room.Confused

CaffeinatedKitten · 05/01/2015 15:46

I have no idea if Octoboy even has a spot at nursery yet. Le sigh!

Bring on the coffee.

The boy will be at toddler group for his birthday tomorrow morning. With supermarket cake. I was going to make coconut cake, but have no ingredients or scales. Whoops!

OiMissus · 05/01/2015 20:16

There is nothing wrong with Supermarket cakes!
When our spawns are so enthralled with Frozen/planes/etc, the supers have got it covered. If you love cooking, then go for it, personally, I don't have the time, and can't add the extra stress!
Boi had a Planes cake from Tesco for his birthday, and we got sheep and hedgehog cakes from Waitrose for the farm party. No one bothered what the cakes looked like. They just wanted cake!Grin

NorthernChinchilla · 05/01/2015 21:28

We've already spent our £185 Shock that's been knocked off our nursery bill, DP and I needed new shoes and I needed new tops for work. I hadn't really thought it through about the cut off date, that really, really sucks aethel (and for you too figgy; have you murdered your DH yet btw?!)

I also spent my Xmas money on finally, finally getting sodding lightshades for the down stairs loo, hall/stairs x2 and some ones for the living room, plus some nice coasters. It's nothing fancy but having bare light bulbs for so long felt really grotty somehow...

That's a lovely story fix, there was a thread about surprises on here a little while ago and a few had had ones like that: major tears all round Smile

And waytogo Oi, you devil you Wink

Return to normal life has been a bit stressful, work was OK but soooooo hectic I ended up necking painkillers at the end because of a pounding headache, and DS was NOT. HAPPY. at starting pre-school after two weeks of undiluted parent time. Poor DP only just managed to stop himself crying in the carpark, as DS's anguish was so great.

As predicted, the little effort had to be dragged away from pre-school this evening apparently, so looks like we'll have this for the next week or so.....

OiMissus · 06/01/2015 08:29

Boi's first day back at nursery this morning. Major heartbreak!
It is awful. Sad

Faffin · 06/01/2015 09:06

Huge meltdown from DS at nursery drop off this morning too. Predictable but still heartbreaking. DD back to school too. Time for me to tackle the giant dirty mess that is my house!

Aethelfleda · 06/01/2015 16:26

I'll join with you with the cleaning, Faffin!

Hope toddler group plus cake went well, kitten. Returning to work put paid to toddler groups for us, though he does really seem to enjoy nursery once he's there.. But having any sort of a break is unsettling, sure boi will be back to normal soon!

Figster · 06/01/2015 20:07

Frugal january has not gone well so far ....weekend in devon in May, weekend in swansea in March, weekend in birmingham in August all booked in last 24 hours but hell we have a lot to look forward to Grin

Ds went back to cm yesterday he was very happy to be back he's seemingly a bit worried about starting pre school Thursday he keeps asking me if we going to leave him there Hmm im working from home thursday in case it is a total disaster then I can go pick him up take him to cm.

Dh gone out tonight so watching last nights broadchurch

Chips1999 · 07/01/2015 08:36

Hello all, still here just lurking!

DS seems to have cracked wees and poos on the toilet - hooray! No cleaning potties Grin

DD seems to be sleeping longer at night and feeding about 4 hourly, but I would like to get a daytime routine as she tends to have little and often with milk in the day and yesterday didn't sleep from 2.30pm all afternoon and evening!

DS was definitely the better sleeper of the two, but I'm not feeling as tired this time round!

Good luck for starting pre-school Figgyboy! I'm sure once he gets used to it he will love it!

DS is now in the pre-school group at nursery and doing his new hours (2-5) and he's coming out very happy and excited!

NorthernChinchilla · 07/01/2015 20:23

Our DS is continuing with the 'don't want to go to pre-school' wailing, tears, howling and limpeting on to DP when left, which he's finding hard. Sad As ever, DS is always reported to have had a lovely day, and has to be dragged physically encouraged to leave. Just a shame he had to start the pre-school on return from Xmas.

Still, I find it hard to believe our DCs are at pre-school stage...did anyone else find that this last year went particularly fast?

Sounds like some good trips there figster!

We've got two dates in the diary over the next month or so to go and visit my Gran in Devon, which I'm pleased to have arranged.

Work is really, really heavy going at the moment, the two weeks off have caused a pretty large backlog that I'm having to slog through, sigh....

Northern I'm all wibbly about ds starting pre school tomorrow thought was gong to cry writing his name on all his clothes ......he's so little HmmHmmHmmHmm

NorthernChinchilla · 07/01/2015 21:19

Aw fig, scary isn't it, and we'll all have to start looking at primary schools this year as the applications have to be in in 12 months Shock Sad

OP posts:
Aethelfleda · 08/01/2015 07:58

DS is going to the DD's school (I hope). One year with all three in the same place! Woo!

Figster · 08/01/2015 08:36

We are trying to get ds into a local CoE school so been going church for a year already if he doesn't get in we will lose our cm for before/after as it's only school she covers due to her kids going there.

Ds dropped at cm thought it best she takes him as her leaving him may be less traumatic (for all of us)
