We've already spent our £185
that's been knocked off our nursery bill, DP and I needed new shoes and I needed new tops for work. I hadn't really thought it through about the cut off date, that really, really sucks aethel (and for you too figgy; have you murdered your DH yet btw?!)
I also spent my Xmas money on finally, finally getting sodding lightshades for the down stairs loo, hall/stairs x2 and some ones for the living room, plus some nice coasters. It's nothing fancy but having bare light bulbs for so long felt really grotty somehow...
That's a lovely story fix, there was a thread about surprises on here a little while ago and a few had had ones like that: major tears all round
And waytogo Oi, you devil you
Return to normal life has been a bit stressful, work was OK but soooooo hectic I ended up necking painkillers at the end because of a pounding headache, and DS was NOT. HAPPY. at starting pre-school after two weeks of undiluted parent time. Poor DP only just managed to stop himself crying in the carpark, as DS's anguish was so great.
As predicted, the little effort had to be dragged away from pre-school this evening apparently, so looks like we'll have this for the next week or so.....
