New thread!

It amazes me that lots of you have crawling & cruising babies! Sylvie isn't even crawling yet and she's now over 8 months Shock also no teeth yet either. I know they all catch up eventually but I'm starting to worry a little bit. I'm definitely being a bit PFB about it.

Book glad you have booked the consultant. Hopefully it will make the world of difference Smile

AMillionNameChangesLater · 31/08/2014 10:08

Henry commando crawls all the time, he's really fast.

Don't worry felix ds1 was 9 months when he commando crawled and 16 months when he walked

Naturegirl82 · 31/08/2014 10:58

We have a tooth coming through. Not sure if I'm happy about this or not with breastfeeding though! We shall see.

O ends up standing in her cot at night. Sometimes I think she does it accidentally. I just got mean one night and just kept laying her back down and she now gets the message and falls back asleep quickly.

So I'm back in work tomorrow and I'm sick. Sad Bad chest and swollen glands. can't exactly phone in sick my first day back!!

Those of you that have breastfed how long did it take for your boobs to shrink after you stopped breastfeeding. Having dilemmas about fitting in a dress in April!

Mrsg how is L getting on with the antibiotics? Do you have a date for her scan yet?

book glad you went for the full package, it takes the pressure off you a little.

AMillionNameChangesLater · 31/08/2014 12:30

Eek! The passport company wrote to dh on Friday saying he had a passport in 1996, can he sign this form to say it has been lost. He sent that back yesterday, he's going to call the passport company tomorrow and see if he can fast track the passport. So he may be coming on Sunday! Fingers crossed.

Oh Nature, I'm sorry you feel crap. Could some of this be psychosomatic because you're going back and you don't feel ready? could be bollocks

Naturegirl82 · 31/08/2014 12:38

Unfortunately not million. Dh was sick friday/Saturday as well. Taken some paracetamol to get rid of my temp and attempting to go for a walk so hopefully that will help.

Fx about the passport, hope it comes through in time Smile

MrsGSR · 31/08/2014 13:02

Hope you feel better soon nature!

Leah had her scan a few weeks ago (I lost the thread so didn't update for ages!) and everything looks normal. She's got an appointment with a pediatric doctor in October and I think he'll say she doesn't need the antibiotics. She's fine with them, doesn't even mind the licorice taste!

beccajoh · 31/08/2014 13:13

Nature when I stopped feeding DD it took a couple of weeks for my boobs to stop squirting milk everywhere (I gave up cold turkey though!) and probably another month before they felt kind of normal. Then they went kind of deflated. My boobs weren't ever amazing but they looked a bit sad afterwards lol!

Naturegirl82 · 31/08/2014 13:30

mrsg that's good nothing showed up on the scan, fx she can come off the antibiotics soon.

Thanks becca. I'm planning on stopping bf in January/ February at the moment! so a few months before the wedding. So hopefully that along with playing netball and running again will mean I can fit in my bridesmaids dress.

AMillionNameChangesLater · 31/08/2014 14:06

I'm sorry nature, get well soon

beccajoh · 31/08/2014 15:30

I lost a bit of weight too when I stopped feeding. To be fair I didn't have loads to lose, but my body stubbornly clung onto that 10lbs or so whilst I was breastfeeding. The weight fell off with very little effort afterwards. Then I was pregnant again a couple of weeks later LOL!

OP posts:
Naturegirl82 · 31/08/2014 15:53

becca that sounds good about the weight loss ignoring the part about getting pg again. I'm still just over a clothes size bigger than my normal (not aiming for pre-pg size as had just done mega training and run a marathon when I got pg) but I think I'll loose this when I start properly exercising again.

Naturegirl82 · 31/08/2014 18:17

So I'm at home in bed periodically puking my guts up while Dh and O are at the inlaws. Really quite sad this is how I've spent my last day off. Barely seen O as Dh has been looking after her to give me some rest Sad I know it won't matter in the grand scheme of things but I had wanted to do something nice with her.

AMillionNameChangesLater · 31/08/2014 18:24

Are you going to be ok for tomorrow?

Naturegirl82 · 31/08/2014 18:45

Don't think I have much choice, might look a little suspect me phoning in sick on my first day back. If it's anything like what Dh had I'll stop throwing up soon and just feel a bit pathetic. Just wish I could have a full night's sleep! Typical, just as my availability to nap is removed I think I'm going to need one tomorrow! oh well.

Naturegirl82 · 31/08/2014 19:41

Anyone else waiting for news on rory's engagement in chat?? far too much time on my hands!

FelixFelix · 31/08/2014 20:18

Nature I've been out and logged straight on here when I got back to check the engagement thread Grin

Will they mind you going home if you're too ill tomorrow? I think going in to work then getting sent home is the best option if you don't want to call in sick. Then no one will think it's dodgy you calling in on your first day. Hope it goes well for you.

I've just driven the car for the first time! It was so scary. I learnt in a 1.4 and our car is a 2 litre so I was shitting it, but it wasn't as bad as expected. I'm so happy I can go places now!

Naturegirl82 · 31/08/2014 20:30

Well done felix. That first time driving after passing is awesome and terrifying.

Well O has coped well all day with teething but not so good tonight not helped by the late night! so had to top her up with calpol. She is finally asleep.

I've stopped puking so hopefully a good sleep tonight will see me ok tomorrow. Work are going to be disappointed when I don't turn up with homemade cupcakes though!

I loved the engagement thread. glad she said yes Smile

Naturegirl82 · 31/08/2014 21:56

So me and O are all packed for tomorrow. Feels so surreal now the time has come. Hopefully the morning will go smoothly and no major disasters or hold ups. Hope you enjoy your Monday's ladies. Smile

Gettingthroughthis · 01/09/2014 06:28

Good luck nature and hope you're feeling better. Enjoy the chance to have a cup of tea in peace

AMillionNameChangesLater · 01/09/2014 08:48

Good luck Nature

FelixFelix · 01/09/2014 09:01

Good luck for today nature. Hope you're feeling better too.

Swannykazoo · 01/09/2014 09:17

Good luck nature
Am I right in thinking there's a fair bit of separation anxiety going on? Little puggle has started crying if I go into the bathroom to brush my teeth etc. I think its just the age he's at, not necessarily that he's upset and insecure about me being at work, but hey ho, its the start of the maternal guilt.
Have the other mums from antenatal coming over tomorrow on my mummy day so it'll be good to catch up. (and apologise for FIL filming them all in baby swimming with no awareness of how inappropriate it was!)

TobyLerone · 01/09/2014 11:01

Good luck, nature!

Definite separation anxiety here, too. It's awful. And so much waking up at night. 6 times between midnight and 5.30am last night. DH tried to get up at 5.30 with her but whenever he tries she just shouty-cries in his face until I take her. It's ridiculous. We have neighbours and DS trying to sleep, so we can't really let her yell for too long. So I end up taking her and the only way she'll shut up is if I feed her.

I end up feeding her every time she wakes up. And I don't know how to stop.

Swannykazoo · 01/09/2014 12:13

Toby I am the human dummy! I'm hoping my inertia will mean little puggle decides he doesn't need to sleep latched on at some point in the future as I just can't face being up all night trying to sort this (and I hate the thought of him crying) and DH is utterly useless with anything that requires being up at night

FelixFelix · 01/09/2014 14:38

I drove the car on my own! And didn't make any mistakes! YEAH!

Has anyone got that tommy tippee baby food blender? Just impulse bought one in asda for a tenner but reviews on amazon are very mixed. Either brilliant or absolutely awful. Not sure if I should take it back. It does three stages of food, so purée, mash and chopped bits. I'm rubbish at mashing so thought it may help!
