New thread!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TobyLerone · 12/11/2014 07:57

Oh, poor Percy :(

FelixFelix · 12/11/2014 08:15

Book that sounds terrible. Surely there must be something else they can do! They can't just leave her like that Sad

BookTart · 12/11/2014 08:18

The hardest bit is that she's really hungry and trying to eat, but it hurts and makes her cry Sad She seems a bit brighter at the moment, no smiles but she's playing with her toys at least! I'm worried that I broke her on Monday doing an underwater photo session. She got really upset and drank most of the pool, and has been ill since.

TobyLerone · 12/11/2014 08:26

Little and often with the food. Nothing acidic. Plain and easy to digest. I'm teaching my granny to suck eggs, of course. Let me know if you need anything.

BookTart · 12/11/2014 08:44

Thanks toby, all advice welcome! She even refused her beloved Weetabix and a banana this morning after a brave attempt. She's happily eating my car keys and watching Timmy Time now though :)

Bambooshoots14 · 12/11/2014 09:29

book that sounds terrible. Hopefully the doctor can do something. Is there something causing the reflux? I'm not really into it but if all else has failed you could try homeopathy.

mythree sorry to hear about the ringworm. Hopefully will clear up soon

I agree with some of those sleep tips, I've found making sure he's warm, leaving him to cry sometimes and no dummy have really helped. Although now I think he just wakes up because he's a tiny bastard

He's fine now thanks book. Not sure if I updated you all but the doctor changed the diagnosis to hand foot and mouth but I'm not convinced. It seems too much of a coincidence that someone at his nursery had chicken pox same day, he also didn't have a sore mouth at all and had spots in other places too. Either way he hasn't really been I'll with it at all but is officially contagious until tomorrow. He's caught a cold though so is very chesty so using the inhaler again

Bambooshoots14 · 12/11/2014 09:33

Also got a spray tan at 10 so of course im still in pjs and the tb has fallen asleep on me

nature how's o's tooth?

Naturegirl82 · 12/11/2014 10:34

Bamboo glad H is getting better, bad timing with the cold again though.

Percy poor P, that sounds horrendous. Have you managed to get a Dr's appointment. Surely there must be something else they can do for her. Are there any alternatives to Omeprazole they can try? Have you been referred to a specialist?

Felix we had a similar night to you. Tried to put O to bed at 7 but she just cried on and off until we brought her downstairs at 8.30. She had bright red cheeks so think it's her 8th tooth causing her trouble. Thought we were in for a really bad night, so I kicked Dh into the spare room so she could come in with me, but I actually managed to get her into her cot for the whole night yippee king sized bed all to myself and she only woke once which was good .

Bamboo O's tooth seems fine thanks. She has the dentist again tomorrow but it hasn't discoloured and it has moved fully down now so it all looks ok thankfully.

Naturegirl82 · 12/11/2014 10:41

Mythree thanks for the advice. I know there isn't anything wrong with it at all but we have got to nearly 10 months without formula so don't want to give her some now. Going to stick it out for the next two months until I stop breastfeeding and I think she will sleep through again then as she will be drinking more milk during the day rather than waiting for me to be at home. I think the thing with breastfeeding is it isn't just about the milk, it's the comfort aspect as well.

Annoyingly I've had to turn the radiator off in our room as O's cot is right next to it and she goes to bed whilst the heating is still on. It's still 18 degrees in there though.

O's room is nearly finished. I've just got half the walls left to wallpaper which I should get done this weekend then get the carpet fitted yay. She will hopefully be in there before the end of the month finally

Naturegirl82 · 12/11/2014 10:42

Gah forgot to say mythree hope the ringworm clears up quickly. I've had it before (well the Dr's think it was that!) and it was a nightmare to get rid of as none of the cream's worked and I had to have tablets to clear the blighter!

Mythreeknights · 12/11/2014 13:30

Hmm, thanks for the ringworm warning...I must admit, day 4 of cannesten and no change to the size / colour of it...another friend told me she had it for 6 weeks before it cleared. Think if cream doesn't work in next few days we'll try the tablets (somehow...how do you get a 10 month old to take tablets)?

And now for the BIG NEWS: Lucy has learnt to crawl (forwards!) YIPPEE, we are mobile :-)

Naturegirl82 · 12/11/2014 13:39

Well done Lucy

R.e. the tablets, no idea how you would get those in a 10 month old. I suppose it would be frowned upon to take the same approach as giving tablets to a dog or cat Hmm

Naturegirl82 · 12/11/2014 13:40

clearly my activity on here today indicates that I am working extremely hard at work today

Naturegirl82 · 12/11/2014 13:41

Oh while I think of it, if you haven't seen, mothercare have 50% off some toys and 20% off all toys at the moment (and you can get the 20% discount on the all ready discounted items). 20% off ends today though

FelixFelix · 12/11/2014 13:49

Also if you've signed up to MyMothercare they send you a 20% off toys code for babies birthday, to be used at Mothercare or ELC . I managed to get 20% off all toys then a further 20% off at ELC (including already reduced happyland toys) and got a £99 trike for £63, happyland train set for £18 (originally £50!) and London bus for £12 Smile Worth checking your emails if you're signed up.

No idea re tablets. I would have done the animal approach too Grin can they be crushed up at all? Could crush and add to something else like peanut butter on a rice cake or something similar?

I've packed two boxes, yippee!! Grin

FelixFelix · 12/11/2014 15:34

Ooh forgot to say YAY LUCY! Grin

Swannykazoo · 12/11/2014 16:52

My three - would buttering their paws be wrong? Wink

Swannykazoo · 12/11/2014 17:02

And its a big hurray for the warmer bedroom- sleep wasn't perfect but three wakeups just to sook and not his crying and thrashing was amazing. 3.5tog sleeping bag also ordered in case of a cold winter. I predict all my preparations for winter will lead to it being ridiculously mild....I might be able to function like a normal person soon

Naturegirl82 · 13/11/2014 12:54

We had amazing sleep here last night. Put O to bed at 6.30 as she was exhausted, she woke at 2.15am for a feed, back down by 2.30 and then slept till 6. Hurrah. I went to bed at 8 last night as well so definitely caught up on some sleep. Last 2 nights have been good. Fx it continues.

TobyLerone · 13/11/2014 13:01

Great news, nature :) fingers crossed it continues!

MerryPops · 13/11/2014 14:35

Hi all. Thought I best jump back on the thread before we move on to the next one! I have been reading a lot but not commenting as nothing really very interesting has been happening. A is 9.5 months old now, in possession of 4 teeth, crawling merrily and is standing on his own for a few seconds before he realises and falls over. First proper haircut next week as his fringe and sideburns are going a bit crazy, and he starts nursery 2 half days a week from December. Dh is still a SAHM, going through phases of applying for jobs but isn't particularly motivated (grr).

I am ok, work isn't exactly setting my world on fire at the moment but it's paying the bills which is the main thing right now. I am in admiration and awe of those with troubled sleep still, when I get a bad night (which thankfully isn't too often) I really know about it the next day, you are all superwomen! I'm so pleased to hear a couple of the tiny b's have slepy a little better the last couple of nights. They need to update their Facebook group and tell the rest!

I am in full on Christmas decoration buying mode. Normally we go to parents on the day so we don't go mad with the decorations, but we are hosting my mum and brothers family this year so thought I'd make a bit more effort. Well at least for a day until i get fed up of pulling A away from everything, then it will all be taken back down before Christmas Grin

Anyway, just thought I would wave from the back of the room to say I am still here Blush

Naturegirl82 · 13/11/2014 22:53

Knew more than two nights sleep would be too good to be true Sad

FelixFelix · 13/11/2014 23:03

Hi merry! Good to hear from you.

Bad night again here. She's drifting off then waking up screaming over and over again. I am stressed and angry and I know it's not her fault but I'm so fucked off about the whole situation Confused

TobyLerone · 14/11/2014 08:15

Maybe she's teething, felix? I know it's everyone's go-to excuse, but I read the other day that the pressure/pain in their jaws from teething is much worse when they're lying down.

Naturegirl82 · 14/11/2014 08:16

Felix did you manage to get some sleep? We managed 4 hours! Think it must be this tooth as her nappy rash has flared up really badly as well this morning. Thank goodness it's Friday. Going to be a long day in work Sad
