Aww, lovely scan pic bean :)

I'm doing well thanks - no sickness but then I didn't have any with DD either. I'm just tired. How are you doing and how many weeks are you now? I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and on the June thread but will probably join the May one too as I'm pretty sure baby will be born in May.

BeanCalledPickle · 14/10/2014 21:21

I'm nearly eleven weeks now. According to eight week scan I was a couple days back, so 9th may. That's a Saturday so guess it will be some point the week before. The may thread is quite stressful actually. So many losses. So much worrying about symptoms and lack thereof. I'm sure I was the same first time round but I just want to get on with it now and not fret too much!

A lot of worrying about lack of symptoms on the June thread too. I should probably avoid it until after my 12 week scan as worrying doesn't help or make any difference to the outcome.

Not long till your 12 week scan then?

BeanCalledPickle · 14/10/2014 22:06

Yeah next Friday. I am way more excited about going to Lady Gaga on Thursday!!

Hullo ladies! I've been one of those horrid lurkers, reading all your posts but usually on my phone, on the run, and never a good time to contribute.

Massive congrats to Cuphat and Bean - AMAZING and BRAVE was my response when I read about your upduffness - and excitement! One of my NCT friends has had a second already so she's got a 17 month old and a 2 month old. Also brave!

Anyway it sounds like everyone is doing really well and it's so hard to believe it was over 2 years ago I got up duff in the first place, so much has happened.

All is well with life in west london, we've been living through a side return extension which hasn't been a lot of fun with a mobile Joe to wrangle. A few weeks left and then we'll be done and he'll have a big kitchen to go mad in. I had my knee operated on at the same time the extension started so I was immobile for 2 weeks after that. Not smart timing. I've never been very smart.

Me and Mr Olimoss have secretly decided to stop avoiding another pregnancy - secretly because we are finding EVERYONE is asking us when we're going for #2 - is anyone else getting this all the time now? I am 40 now though so I suppose it might not happen as easily as it did first time around. First time around I didn't even try, this time I'm wondering if I should do it 'properly' but I don't really know what to do.

Is it, like, 3 days a month you should shag like rabbits? Am clueless.

So I'm sorry for lurking and not contributing -but I love that this thread remains live after nearly 2 years. Brilliant!

Hope everyone is doing aces.

PS; Bean - the back end of Ibiza - ie: not partytown bit - is beautiful and there are lots of villas and easy trips into local townships for food. My friend went with her toddler and baby and came back raving about it...

cuphat · 16/10/2014 21:32

Hi Olimoss - great to see you back on here and glad you're doing well (hope your knee is ok now). And thank you!

We haven't had many people ask about #2 (only close friends); I think people will be surprised we're having #2 this soon, though I'm not getting any younger!

3 days a month? Think I dragged it out a couple more, just to cover ourselves (and that was using ovulation tests). But it worked quite quickly. We both hated the whole experience, would definitely recommend just doing what we did this time (just stop using contraception and don't look at the calendar - worked straight away!). Fingers crossed for you!

It is fab that this thread is still going!

You've reminded me that I don't think we've heard from pinkbear for a while? I may have made that name up, or there may have been a nc (this is my third since I've been on these threads), my memory is terrible.

Mrs81 · 19/10/2014 16:00

We don't get a huge amount of pestering about no. 2; other than MIL who asked if I'd like a daughter next time when ds was c7 months old
We might be slightly mad...we're moving out this weekend in order to have the house rewired. Stress levels are rising by the day!!! Confused

HungryHorace · 20/10/2014 17:33

Having got pregnant with number 2 with indecent haste, we managed to avoid all questioning! :-)

Nice to hear from you Oli. Good luck with kind of TTC! Every other day from cd8 is vaguely recommended. But if you know when you OV, the 2 days before, day of and 1 or 2 days after should do you right. I've conceived by DTD the day before OV both times.

SunnyL · 21/10/2014 21:45

oh god what a day.

This morning little girl fell down the stairs. RIGHT down the stairs. One minute she was at the top playing with her toothbrush the next she was at the bottom. I have never screamed so loudly nor moved so fast. After 5 minutes of checking her over and cuddling her like crazy she demanded I sing twinkle twinkle. So clearly she was okay. I was fecking traumatised though Sad

and then tonight. turns ouout after a fabby weekend at centre parcs in and out of the pool she has the sorest bum.

To top it off the cot has just broke and is unfixable. Looks like I'll be going to ikea after work.

sod it all. Maybe I'll pull a sickie (cos my rant about work at the moment is a whole other thing!).

cuphat · 21/10/2014 22:19

Oh dear Sunny - what a day indeed! So glad she's ok.

HungryHorace · 22/10/2014 18:12

Bloody hell, Sunny. I'm glad she's OK.

Bouncy little buggers, these kids. :-)

SunnyL · 22/10/2014 18:25

bouncy and expensive! Just had to buy a new cot bed and mattress as it turns out her old cot was a funny size so the mattress won't fit any new cots.

Arse.Angry

HungryHorace · 22/10/2014 20:09

At least you'll get another 3 years out of it. Not sure that's any help now though!

SunnyL · 23/10/2014 06:49

To be fair the cot we had was second hand and we had thought it might not last the distance. Bearing in mind my sister's eldest just turned 11 it's had a good innings. 3.5 children and 11 years - that's when Mothercare made good quality furniture Wink

Olimoss · 23/10/2014 09:54

excellent - thanks for the advice, I shall follow!

Sunny - argh that sounds AWFUL, glad she is ok....

Olimoss · 26/10/2014 20:57

I'm wondering if I should join the facebook group, if you'll have me, now that I'm no longer working in a central govt job! How does it work?

BeanCalledPickle · 26/10/2014 21:38

I will request you as a friend- I remember your name in RL. Accept then I will add you to the group. You can unfriend me after:-)

Lovely thanks Bean! I look forward to seeing pics of Polly as a grown up kid!

pinkbear82 · 28/10/2014 17:13

Found you all.... Very quick catch up, altho I am sure I am missing loads!

Currently suffering with chest and sinus infection and cutting out bf altogether - was only bedtime/over night but has to be done for a skin condition I have and need meds for. Plus I know she can go without from the nights she's stayed at my parents! Still hard.

just a quick drop in, I will check more often! Like I said on the fb page, I think I needed a break from everything that had been normal and find me again. which I have - I think Wink

AlohaMama · 28/10/2014 18:28

Hi. Just poppping in after much lurking. Everytime I think of posting it's cos I feel the need to moan and whinge and so have been trying to avoid and waiting for a more positive day!!

We're mid-move here. In that we have keys to new house but still time on our tenancy in our hold, so much decorating is taking place. Great to be able to decorate an empty house with no kids in the way. And now that it's 'our' house well mostly the banks rather than rental we can decorate to our hearts content.

Good luck oli with the TTC and congrats to all the new babies and pregnancies. I thought I'd get twinges of jealousy but think I am fully decided that having 2 is our lot. If Evie was an easier baby I might be tempted but I think she's going to be hard work till she leaves home Grin

Fully sympathise with the stairs incident sunny - we have had the same, plus she fell off the sofa a few weeks ago directly on to her head and lost conciousness/stopped breathing momentarily. Was soon ok but it was a terrifying half hour or so till she was fully herself again. Trouble is she is a big climber. It's impossible to fully babyproof house or give her my total undivided attention so I find her walking along windowsills, standing on dining table, stuck on kitchen chairs, balancing on the tray of her highchair, trying to climb on toilets etc etc. Frankly she is very cute but very hard work! And also very very stubborn. Turns out that DS was a walk in the park.

Anyone else hating the clocks going back? Turns out 1 yr olds do not realise that a 6am wakeup is now 5am (or 4.45 as it was this morning). It's turned her all upside down with being tired and hungry at awkward times.

On the plus side, took advantage of the TU clothes 25% off today and treated her to some cute clothes. so much more fun than buying clothes for DS!!

HungryHorace · 28/10/2014 19:37

Aloha, sounds like you've had a scary time with Evie. DD is a climber too...she got trapped on the dining table the other day. I'm glad she's not decided she's also a jumper!

I'm waiting til she climbs out of her cot bed. Can't be long now, I'm sure. :-/

We are looking to move again. Only to rented again, but we've decided that these two can't share as they'd never sleep.

I've been on a course today using a KIT day. It was nice to escape the mad house!! It was worse leaving DD in March than DS now. Poor neglected second born. :-)

BeanCalledPickle · 28/10/2014 20:43

Ha I've already decided I will be going back to work earlier this time. Although I didn't realise it at the time I was very bored, lonely and miserable on maternity leave. I have enough leave that combined with my six months of full pay means still eight months off but that's a lot less than last time!

I just could not stay at home. I am fully admiring of anyone who has the capacity to deal with small children all day.

The climbing is a familiar story here as well. I have a comedy photo somewhere:-)

cuphat · 28/10/2014 21:19

Glad to know I wasn't making your name up, pinkbear! Hope you get better soon.

How scary, aloha. Luckily, DD isn't a big adventurer. She hasn't attempted to get out of the cotbed yet. Love the TU girls clothes, they are cute.

DD has been fine with the clocks. She woke up an hour early on the Sunday morning which was to be expected, but we went to bed at normal time so got our usual sleep (well in theory for me - I was ill!). She'd adjusted to it by the next morning and woke up at her usual time, but then she likes her sleep.

Can't believe you're moving again Hungry! But that's a good reason.

I love being at home with DD however it is much harder work than my job. I've been ill for a few days - I was really bad yesterday and literally too ill to look after DD properly so my husband came home very early to look after her so I could spend the day resting. I always struggled into work when ill but then I could just sit there all day! Goodness knows how I'll be with two!

Tempted to join the fb group but I always told myself I didn't want to mix real life with forums. Decisions!

BeanCalledPickle · 28/10/2014 21:42

It's just the odd photo every month or so. Promise we won't stalk you!

Haha! Was more worried about people in rl finding me on here - is it hidden or will it show up in my newsfeed to everyone? Ok, what do I do?
