I told people I'd named polly after the seventh track on Nevermind. That is a track called Territorial Pissings. Polly is sixth track. That wouldn't have been a good mistake to make

Oh god, name choosing. We were making our list on my due date. Luckily ds was late Grin
As it was we forgot to pack the list and took two days to decide. DH turned up at hospital one morning to find me in floods of tears because I couldn't complete a consent form because ds had no name obviously I could have just put Baby Mrs81 but sleep deprivation and hormones are a killer combo
So he suggested a name that I had loved for ages but he had vetoed. Which made me cry more because I thought he was only saying it to make me feel better. Honestly, it's a wonder the child has a name at all!!

cuphat · 23/11/2014 20:43

We picked DD's name quite early on last time. We decided on her first name straight away but we wanted a family name from each side as the middle names, so it took a little longer to decide on those.

I like the name you chose, hungry. I'd use it but DH says no. He says no to most of the names I like, apart from one but I'm not sure on it any more. I like it but I'm not sure if it's a proper name or not. And we have family names to go through again. Girls names are so much easier.

BeanCalledPickle · 23/11/2014 22:06

I'm currently on Atticus (as in Finch and/ or Atticus ross whose work I love) or Luna (last track on Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream)

peas and sweetcorn always seem like a good idea. until you suddenly remember they are picked and eaten one.....at.....a..... time...... and nothing else on the plate will be considered until every last one has gone. sigh

Hello all. Just checking in and saying hiya really. Life progresses as always. We're trying to track down toy sheep and toy chickens for the small girls Christmas. She's absolutely obsessed with both which generally involves shouting baa at Countryfile when it's on the telly. We live in the country and see sheep every day but it never seems to be enough for her.

cuphat · 03/12/2014 14:34

Ewan the dream sheep? Or do you mean little figures? DD loves Ewan!

SunnyL · 03/12/2014 15:45

We've got a Ewan already. I'm trying to discourage her taking him out and about because I don't want him broken. He saved my sanity and I think I owe him a pleasant life because of that!

cuphat · 03/12/2014 15:58

Ewan is top of the must-buy list for DC2!

Luckily DD isn't attached to anything enough to want to take it out with her. Makes it easier for us plus no worrying about losing things. Ewan is for sleepy time only.

HungryHorace · 03/12/2014 21:57

DD keeps stealing DS' Ewan...she didn't have one!

I love that your DD has a sheep obsession, Sunny. Cute. :-)

Mrs81 · 04/12/2014 03:12

I saw a lovely toy sheep Sunny...but it was over £100 Shock Confused So not THAT lovely afterall...

Nice pics Bean.

Was it life-sized, Mrs?!

DD says sheeep whenever she sees one. Then does a baa. Cute.

Mrs81 · 04/12/2014 19:39

No! life size would be a bit freaky... http://www.herdy.co.uk/shop/baby/my-herdy/24/208/details

The photos are great Bean :) Polly looks lovely.

We are still babble central here, no words - though brrrrrrmmm for anything with wheels! I'm guessing the normal range for starting to speak is very wide so am not worried about it Smile

Mrs81 · 04/12/2014 19:41

Try again

SunnyL · 04/12/2014 19:47

OMG - I must hide that Web page from DH otherwise he'll do something silly with the credit card.

Lovely pics. Only slightly rubbing salt in the fact that I was meant to have a photo shoot with Lil today only I went to the wrong freaking shop didn't I? Plonker

Mrs81 · 04/12/2014 20:03

Oops Sunny!
Yes, the sheep is gorgeous but... There's a Herdy shop near us. Full of lovely squidgy woollen things that cost the earth

cuphat · 04/12/2014 21:10

Ahh they're cute.

My friend's daughter didn't say anything till two and then started speaking in complete sentences; they take it all in even if they don't speak for a while. DD is on 60 words now, there's one sound she can't work out how to make; when she does there'll be no stopping her. Odd as neither my husband or I are big talkers! She's just started saying two, three, four, six, eight and ten in the right place when we count the buttons on her sleepsuits - very good memory! Though she doesn't do it every time and two, six and eight seem to be particular favourites.

Mrs81 · 04/12/2014 21:30

I think you're right Cuphat. And, to be honest, it would fit with how ds has managed all other big developmental leaps. He was quite late to crawling and walking - but then had it down to an art almost immediately. He only, in last couple of wks, has shown any interest in spoon feeding himself - but has bypassed the putting-food-in-ear/under-chin stage altogether. Whenever he meets new people/things he studies them first before getting stuck in...

cuphat · 04/12/2014 21:46

I bet that's what'll happen. DD has been slow with the physical stuff like crawling and walking. Also, DD didn't even start babbling till very late - I was actually really worried. Then she went more or less straight to words! They all get there eventually though. I know I'll worry much less with DC2!

Ha, DD checks people out throughly before trusting them too. I feel mortified at the face she has recently started pulling when she doesn't approve of someone.

Mrs81 · 05/12/2014 06:59

That's funny cuphat Smile DS does something similar. If someone gawps at him in pram hoping for a smile, the chances are they will get a very stern look unless he recognises them! It can be a little embarrassing but to be honest, why should he smile on demand to strangers?? He's actually a very happy little thing who smiles and laughs a lot!

SunnyL · 05/12/2014 08:17

My nephew was slow to speak. turns out he had a series of ear infections which was really limiting his hearing. Since he has had gromits fitted you can't shut the little fellow up. The first thing he said after the op was 'bubbles'.

cuphat · 05/12/2014 08:43

Very true, Mrs. DD will smile at people she likes but makes it obvious if she dislikes someone!

Interesting you say that Sunny; I actually thought DD might have a hearing problem when she took so long to start babbling as it was something often mentioned on here. Love his first word! Aside from mummy and daddy, DD's were bear, shops and shoes! Haha! With strawberries closely following them (she is obsessed with them - has them every day and can spot pictures and the real thing a mile away!).

Mrs81 · 05/12/2014 09:09

That's great he had such a transformation after the op Sunny Smile I just checked the 18m development list in the red book. We are def no to words and not sure to instructions. Everything is yes with gusto. Need to get him weighed soon as per dr orders so may mention it then if I can be arsed!

BeanCalledPickle · 07/12/2014 16:58

Just been for gender scan. We are having another girl!!
