Very tired this morning... My shoulders are really sore. Going to a magic music class today with both kids. Dd starts school next week... I'm all organised but scared! She's looking forward to it tho. I'll be a blubbering wreck!

Kyz · 08/08/2014 08:57

Hi quiche! Not dead just busy xx

misslaughalot · 08/08/2014 12:38

Oh YW that's rubbish but also good that it's been picked up. I have the test in a couple of weeks as I'm an old fart at 38, it was negative with O so we will see what's happening this time round.

O has had horrendous past 2 nights, not going to sleep until 10 and then waking frequently. As you saw from my FB pic I brought her downstairs the first night which I never do, and yes it was a huge mistake as that's all she was asking for last night and then wouldn't stop playing with her pillow so I removed it from her cot and she had the most monumental screaming fit, the worst one we've ever had. When she did eventually drop off I broke down as I felt so shit about it. I think with being pg, and all that's worrying me about my rental property and how I'm going to cope financially that last night just pushed me over the edge.

And I'm really not back in my right mind this morning as after I changed a nappy this morning I headed to the loo to flush the poo and instead it went in the kitchen bin Confused

Wandathewindfairy · 08/08/2014 18:56

Evening all. It's so quiet here these days. I am putting it down to summer days and chasing toddlers. Hopefully we will step it up once the winter arrives and all those long nights. I miss a good old read.

izzy what happened about your knee?

horsey ^. ^

Yes I am not longer complete. My girls are well and truly home now. There is some disaster about a missing turtle, but it have packaged him up and sent him home club class. Funnily, dd2 had not noticed turtles absence and was minorly distressed at the fact he was missing but not too bad. However, apparently when my dad dropped her back with exH she went into floods of tears about it. My analysis is she knows he will hit the roof about something forgotten and she thinks if she gets in first then he won't make such a massive issue of it.

Grr.

I bet I get a ranting email!

Enjoying my wine now. I am practicing decanting this week so talk to me anbout the benefits please peeps?

YellowWellies · 08/08/2014 21:43

Wanda your pic of decanted wine had me drooling!

I think once we get the second wave of quiche babies chat will pick up!

Today I'm loving the fact that my diebetic diet let's me eat lots of cheese!!! Smile

BigPigLittlePig · 08/08/2014 22:00

Mmm cheese.

Still decorating here so all a bit quiet.

Just eating some fudge and watching James Bond.

PetiteRaleuse · 08/08/2014 22:23

I have not been posting as much. As you can see from FB have been v busy. I promise to post more often next week :)

Am going through a v special transitional time. From wanting, dreaming, to actually finally doing. It's amazing.

I ate stuffed tomatoes with rice, followed by green salad and cheese this evening yw. Other than in the actual tomatoes there was zero sugar. And you're allowed tomato level sugar right?

Passmethecrisps · 08/08/2014 23:10

I spend a fair amount of the day with boring news wondering what interesting stuff you are all up to. I suspect we are all being dull and don't post. I would read with delight about your trips to the post office as I love you all so much!

wanda your post above made me well up and get very, very cross at the same time. My feeling is that he presses them for information and to give (factual or not, bothersome or not) is better thantk be seen to withhold.

Your wee girls are becoming big girls and know what is expected of them at this time - I think you did right by raising a glass to them and their wonderful natures. They are lovely children borne of their lovely mother. Xx

yw how are you feeling? Do you feel different or unwell? I am a bit frustrated on your behalf that ther is now suspicion of this with J's pregnancy. Is it a tricky thing to spot?

I cooked a lot today: Lamb and apricot and mint tagine; bolognese and sausage and bean casserole. P have the bolognese her seal of approval by eating her bowl in record quick time the asking for "moar?"

Elizadoesdolittle · 08/08/2014 23:28

Busy but fun summer days here chasing 2 mental children. Having great fun though. Come the evening I am shattered and just go into a zombie like state.

Apart from tonight, I went out for Mexican with 3 very good friends. Was lovely but got absolutely soaked getting home. I nearly drove but felt lazy, despite having walked miles today. Still am all tucked up in my jim jams now ready for bed. Night all.

Passmethecrisps · 08/08/2014 23:32

Enjoy *eliza!

Lily311 · 09/08/2014 04:40

Our holiday at lake balaton has come to the end, we are leaving in an hour or so. o was an utter nightmare the first 4 days, she screamed and had tantrums every minutes. I ended up guessing she was in pain so dosed her in calpol for 3 days. she was much better the day before yesterday and had a good day yesterday. I can honestly say I was never as stressed in my life, I ended up on tears a couple of times.

I will also not go on holiday with my parents anymore. I love them but their indecisiveness was killing me. my mum could not even order food for herself. I have a child, I don't need 2 more.

uni reunion today in Budapest than flying to London tomorrow morning, have I mentioned we have a court case on Monday? yes, still about putting Leo on birth certificate, it's still going on. Also got the inheritance case on 24th October in his birth country than hopefully over.

wanda huge hugs

Elizadoesdolittle · 09/08/2014 09:11

lily sorry to hear your holiday didn't go as planned. It's hard going on holiday with relatives. I manage it with my sister and we get on well but we are quite different so I sometimes need to bite by tongue and take myself off for a bit of space. Good luck with all the impending legal things.

DH is working today and possibly tomorrow. There's a local arts and crafts festival today so going to go there and paint bowls, cups etc. It's only a £1 per item so fantastic value.

wanda hope you're feeling ok today.

Wandathewindfairy · 09/08/2014 10:11

Beautiful day here today. The girls phoned this morning as they are missing life here. It was great to speak to them . No fallout from turtlegate. Phew.

O keeps wandering Into the girls room asking for them, is very sweet

There is an air festival today so we will be taking a picnic tea down to a local beach and watching the red arrows do their stuff. I never would have thought I would have enjoyed anything like that but we were here a few years ago at this time and it was fantastic. The festival has grown somewhat since then and there are loads of eating caravans and trade stands etc. So quite a thing.

I am making the most of the sunshine and breeze to catch up on laundry this morning as I only do essential laundering when the girls are here so I make the most of my time with them.

And beware, leftover cooking for the next few days, all manner of miscellaneous tarts and pies will be served In the fairy house for the foreseeable.

GTbaby · 09/08/2014 11:24

Sat having a pedicure. Fh is up to his old tricks. So I left the kids with him in revenge.

So A had an exorcist style vom episode last night. Think he is getting what H had last week as today he has already pooped 5 times. Very wetSad

So back to the vom. How do I get it out of pillow, duvet and carpet. I cleaned all with damp clothes. But they stink.

BigPigLittlePig · 09/08/2014 11:27

GT. Carpet - stand on the vom patch with kitchen roll repeatedly until there is no more moisture soaking in. Then scatter with bicarbonate of soda and leave for a bit. Then hoover. Open windows, naturally. Duvet and pillow I would chuck in the washing machine. Good luck, tis gross. Good shout on the pedicure though!

MsJupiter · 09/08/2014 12:17

Hi everyone, we are around, definitely spending a lot of time out and about at the moment to make the most of the summer.

Lily sorry to hear you didn't have a nice holiday. Even the loveliest family can cause stress through extended proximity I think!

Wanda it must be heartbreaking to say goodbye, it's heartrending just as a bystander. Glad you had a wonderful time to add to their thoughts and memories which no-one can take away.

L is really hyper at the mo, very chatty, squealing with laughter but also quite quick to tears. He's realised that my phone is a source of fun and will sob if I take it away so I'm having to keep it hidden which is annoying as I like to keep it out to take pictures. I blame my sister for this after she played him The Wiggles: Hot Potato on her phone and then sent me the link, so several times a day he asks for "Mash Potato... Mash Potato... Massssshhhh Potatooooo (dissolves into heaving sobs)". I have a couple of other nursery rhyme apps on there too which were nice from time to time but are starting to cause similar emotional distress ("E-I-E-I-OOOOOOO...") Hopefully it will pass.

Zamboni · 09/08/2014 14:54

We have made a soft play/assault course upstairs where DC have to avoid the wooden floor to avoid being eaten by crocodiles (me). DD is taking not being seriously, S thinks the whole purpose is to be eaten!

StuntNun · 09/08/2014 15:56

Has anyone tried making their own bread for the LOs with food intolerances? My mum has bought a breadmaker for me, which arrived today so I set about making a soya-free white loaf for J however the recipe calls for half an ounce of butter. I substituted lard because I thought that would have a similar melting point and fat content. He's a real bread/toast-lover so I think he'll be pleased to have some fresh bread and sunflower spread for his supper. Smile I love getting new toys, now I'm looking at making rye bread and spelt bread for DH and I. I suppose reading ingredient labels all the time really rams it home just how many seemingly unnecessary ingredients are in our food.

BigPigLittlePig · 09/08/2014 16:08

We make bread sometimes Stunt. I just use vitalite and ignore the bit where it calls for milk powder and all seems ok. Certainly doesn't last for long!

StuntNun · 09/08/2014 16:47

There wasn't any milk powder in the recipe that came with the breadmaker BigPig. I thought I had better follow the recipe as closely as possible for the first time anyway. For some reason you can't buy Vitalite in NI but I do have Pure sunflower spread which might work. I also have beef dripping and goose fat!

OP posts:
Passmethecrisps · 09/08/2014 17:10

Our bread maker recipe book always used sunflower oil. Very few of the recipes ask for milk powder.

StuntNun · 09/08/2014 17:32

Thanks Pass, I'm sure I could get some sunflower oil and make carrot cake too while I'm at it.

OP posts:
StuntNun · 09/08/2014 17:33

Actually, Nigella's carrot cake recipe is dairy free apart from the icing so it would be suitable for J's egg challenge in October and then I would have to eat all the rest of the carrot cake.

Hello all. Just a quick hullooooo. We're on hols down south with DH's parents. J last flew at 12 weeks but he did really well as seemingly the only child on the plane not being distracted by a tablet. He actually looked out of the window - old school! On the stand he kept chuckling "a plane! a plane! nuther plane!" we were at Gatwick so he must have pointed out nearly 50. Grin

The ILs have been lovely. Must be my pregnancy happy hormones. Today he's been to a rare breeds farm and on a steam train. Utterly spoiled! He only cried once today - when we had to wave goodbye to the choo choo. Tomorrow we have a family day with his 3 cousins down here. Am looking forward to seeing everyone Smile

ValiumQueen · 09/08/2014 21:11

Lovely to hear YW x

Stunt we make bread for J. He loves spelt bread, but will not even sniff the rye. We use oil.

PMT city here. Grr.
