pass Yay for P. E went straight to sleep today too! Wonder what they will get up to tomorrow.....

DD1 is off out for the day with the in laws tomorrow so it's just me and E. We are off to lunch at my DSIS after a trip to the shops and then to a local small festival type thing. I am very much hoping she will nap at some point in the afternoon.

I haven't had time to catch up what with school shoes, birthday cakes etc. But I need a shoulder to cry on.......

Birthday cakes.

When did they become so competitive.

I have just been In tears oN DH and my dad because I think know the cake I have spent ages on for DS1 is substandard. I want it to be great for him and I feel is crap compared to SILs for dn yesterday.

I am a cake failure and feel poo.

The girls say it is ace but if know they are just saying that. And then Dd2 said, " you are good at swimming" Hmm

Wanda get one made or buy one. Life's too short. Enjoy time with your lovely brood instead. You don't have to be all things to all men. My sister is getting her kid's cakes made this year (their birthdays are two days apart) and she is dead chuffed that its one less stress off the list. Her DS is getting a minion cake which is beyond her cake making skillz. A Betty Crocker pack is stretching mine Grin ! Seriously pour yourself a glass of wine, eat the cake and commiserate by giggling at 'Pinterest fail nailed it'. Put a tena lady on first if you have a pelvic floor like mine Grin

Wanda YW speaks the most sense.

Definitely need tena lady for the Pinterest nailed it

Life is too short for cake competitions unless you are entering GBBO. I am a trained chef and L will get hedgehog cakes covered in buttons so no one can see what's underneath Grin

My post yesterday didn't post. Wanda your cake is exactly what DS1 asked for and he will love it.

wanda what yw said.

I made DD1's second birthday cake but other than the loaf cakes I make often all decorative cakes are bought. I'm not good at them, and they're only going to be eaten anyway.

It is more expensive to get them made but life is too short unless you love doing it and it is stress free.

Feeling v refreshed after a good night' s sleep and ready to be busy again today.

wanda I'm shit at cake making. All mine have had shop bought ones. M&S do fab personalised cakes but think they need 7 days notice and not sure if you have one near you. Me and my DSIS did make a cake for DD1S second birthday but my DSIS ended up pretty much doing the whole lot. She's really good at cake making and even she got stressed when making my DN one. Life is far too short. Use the shops!

Omg wanda I wish I could make a cake like that. Last time I tried it looked my like a cow patt. Seriously.
My cake accomplishment is finding a local cake maker who will make me a rainbow cake :)

Yw we have cake club at work. Every Friday someone bakes(I buy) a cake for staff room. That gets competitive.

Have had a massively busy day today.

Apparently there has been a spate of burglaries on my close. Neighbour suggested I put up a "guard dog" sign outside to protect our end of the cul de sac. My dog is as fierce as a very un-fierce kitten. Despite his size. I suppose he would knock a burglar over with his enthusiastic welcome.

I think both girls have been going through developmental leaps. Nursery have been raving about how much they have changed during the break. For better and for worse LO has started to answer back apparently. Despite that DD1's key worker, who has become LO's key worker this week, says she is far easier to handle.

Neighbour popped round to ask me to sign for a package for her tomorrow. I said yeah, sure, just pop round and pick it up tomorrow evening. She handed me her keys and garage remote control thingy, and said "it's a table tennis table, you'll have to let them into our house".

Oh fuck shit and shitting fucking cocking balls yw. I am very fucked off for you.

Today = padding about at home. P alternately happy and whingy. Early nap. Tidying. Nursery for 2 hours - mucho crying and wailing. I spent the two hours shopping like a crazy thing then had to race to pick p up. Cooking. Playing. Whining. Endless eating. Bath. Bed.

Oh dear yw Sad Are they just banning you from treats for now?

Tired here too.

Need to work harder to get F to bed on time.

Elizadoesdolittle · 07/08/2014 21:42

So sorry yw. You will have to make up with lack of cake by eating shed loads of cheese.

Had a really nice day with E whilst DD1 was off gallivanting with the in laws. Whilst I was going through the many books we usually have to plough through at bed time she shook her head at another story and pointed to her bed. I was amazed.

Sorry to hear that YW. Seems extra unfair when you had to avoid dairy for so long too. If you want to chat about it let me know.

yw I went to see a friend with a newborn this week. She had gestational diabetes and had to cut out sugar. Diagnosed at 32w. The baby was born a healthy 7lb at 39 weeks (and she'd been doing all the tricks to get him out from 36 weeks including begging them to induce as she had a horrible pregnancy and wanted shot, so to speak).

It is a good thing to know you have, IYSWIM, as it means you can adapt for both your sakes, but it is rarely as scary as it sounds. With the test you did they pick it up quickly.

Yes they think now I had it with J as i measured 3 weeks ahead and he was big and early. My 32 week bloods were borderline and I missed my 36 week bloods by being in labour Confused

On the plus side I should be fine with diet changes and I also got some monitoring - which was great after a couple of days of worrying quiet in terms of foetal movement. Of course the combination of being monitored and that horrible sugar drink you get meant s/he did a blimmin rumba! Grin

Well yw would rather know you and it and manage it than not know. Big hug.

Off to the airport now. Sad will catch up later
