Wandathewindfairy · 06/09/2014 13:28

Ha ha ! Hello qm

Hello fatima woop for the end of the cricket season and no more cricket teas!

What happen, then, when you have a hypo yw?

QuicheMama · 06/09/2014 13:56

I said Shh Izzy!!!

QuicheMama · 06/09/2014 13:59

VQ is dead. Long live QM Grin

QuicheMama · 06/09/2014 14:00

Just the name, obviously!

GTbaby · 06/09/2014 14:57

Prob I have ilse and Fatima is I don't eat until they go to bed. Just can't find time to cook for myself. We get home by 6.30. A is desperate for bed. So I feed and put him to bed usually just after 7.

Mil has been helpful Shock watching A and feeding him while I sort H out. They go to India for a short trip in a month. So will be interesting to see how I cope totally alone. I wonder how long she will keep it up got.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 06/09/2014 14:58

Phew!

Wandathewindfairy · 06/09/2014 15:35

gt maybe you need to alter your routine if it isn't working. It will take a while to find what works for you. It sounds like the kids only need a light supper when you get in, so either, something that takes almost no prep, like cereal, or pre-prepare a weeks worth at the weekend. Tupperware with chopped up bits of cheese and a separate Tupperware with some chopped up fruit like mango that they can have with crackers, or a load of chopped up veg with a mini yoghurt perhaps? Bagel and cream cheese.

You need quick and easy teas. So you have a slow cooker? You could do a job lot if something and freeze portions that you can grab out of the freezer In The morning to defrost while you are at work. I used to set the timer on the oven sometimes with jacket potatoes in and then throw a quiche in the oven with some salad. My other quick and easy was always just some pasta with pesto stirred through and a load of chopped up cherry tomatoes, maybe with some cooked chicken if I had any leftovers. Or another super qUick one is a chickpea curry just using chickpeas, chopped onion and garlic, a bit of curry powder and some stock I think. Then I stick some cherry toms in at the end. I always put that together while the boys are having their tea and stick it on a really low heat to bubble away. (I also keep in a load of those spice mixes from Quality Foods Shock for quick ones)

Anyway those are like Of my ideas.

The other thing I used to do when I was working was lay the weeks clothes out in the boys rooms on a Sunday night, that saved me time every evening.

Xx

Hello again
Nice to be spotted Smile Has to be said, I haven't been on the thread in ages until recently as we've just been too busy in the garden in the evenings trying to finish the castle playhouse (seen on the facebook thread about play houses). It's still not finished. DH is painting by headtorch!
Sadly I've not been very well recently and have spent a lot more time sat down. Long and complicated story which ended in a diagnosis of transverse myelitis. The only good part is that it was the slower to come on variety which has a much better prognosis than available on the internet for anyone inclined to google (QM - that's you) and I'm still mobile if slow. However, I've enjoyed catching up a bit on everyone's news.

YW can't believe you've not got very long left now. Hope it all goes well/to plan.
QM nice name. congrats on the new job I saw on facebook.
Wanda parcel in the post Smile
GT we do cereal/toast after nursery days. I used to do mini meals in ramekins for the freezer but decided they'd eaten well at nursery and there wasn't a lot of point.
Nice to hear of good school starts from others. I am fully expecting DS1 to wail on Thursday (why is it so late?!). He's not good in new situations but will love it when it's familiar I hope.

Has to be said that I am really enjoying F at the moment. He is mostly really cheery, apart from the usual meltdowns over ridiculous things, and entertains everyone. He just wants to be like his big brother.

Passmethecrisps · 06/09/2014 21:28

Helloooooooo!

Pleased to meet you quichemamma! And how do you dooooooo?

Steak for dinner! And DH is about to treat me to some new spectacles - livin the dream! Genuinely it is lovely to be treated and for him to be able to treat. I am thinking about going for some big round geek specs. We are getting them off the web so I need to measure my pupils!

Quiet day today. P was so, so tired from her busy week and poor sleep. DH took her down stairs when she woke this morning to give me an extra hour as she was up during the night and in our bed again. When I came down stairs they were cuddled on the sofa watching Ben and Holly and she looked like she could sleep again. She just can't seem to get well rested at the moment.

I am wondering if she is leaping and/or teeth and/or a cold. She is snotty and a bit precious but seems to be developing new language all the time. Tonight she proclaimed that DH was a "good girl, daddy" and I was a "good mummy, thank you". At bedtime after asking for "moar story. Moar book. Moar story book" I asked her what she would like a song about. She thought long and hard before saying "tiger". I started with "in the jungle the mighty jungle the tiger sleeps tonight" before moving on to a more organic melody of "tigers are nice, tigers are stripey, tigers are orange and live in indiaaaaa". She turned to me and looked Hmm before saying "no like!"

PetiteRaleuse · 06/09/2014 21:32

Jims sorry to hear you are unwell. Did you post on fb a while ago with your symptoms? Just googled it and sounds familiar. I hope that you recover and that in the meantime life isn't too uncomfortable x

Night quiche.
