someone else with the molluscs! Hooorrrayyyyy. Is not just me. It is just a nightmare at the mo I have to be so strict about not bathing together, not using the same towels, washing the towels constantly, etc etc. And no one else I know has had it.

Jims · 03/09/2014 08:17

Their cousins have had baths with mine and not caught it. We gave ds1 and ds2 separate baths but ds2 still caught it. I gave up caring too much especially now ds1's have finally gone. I now stick a plaster over the ones going red on their way out on ds2 as that's when they are supposedly most contagious and likely to spread. It's the white gunk in the middle that's the infectious bit. Sorry tmi!!

Elizadoesdolittle · 03/09/2014 09:46

Well that's DD1 off to school. As suspected I didn't even get a backward glance let alone a kiss! It's very quiet here!

Wandathewindfairy · 03/09/2014 11:16

eliza same here.

WTF is going on. O is a different boy without ds1 around. He is sitting quietly eating a banana and watching mister maker while I have a coffee and catch up on here. ( we just went for an hour and a half walk down round the shore need to recover) (but obviously he was In his pushchair)

Life is changing.

PetiteRaleuse · 03/09/2014 11:39

It is indeed changing. DD1 is full of beans from her morning at school. After LO's nap am taking them to the park to run around. It's looking to be a beautiful September weather wise.

YellowWellies · 03/09/2014 12:44

Hello all! Glad to hear first days at school went well. PR I can't believe that rule about not waking a sleeping child - our good bedtimes only happen, if, like a mogwai, he's not allowed to sleep after 3pm. As a parent you should have the say on the matter!

Well had my diabetes appointment today. Its quite reassuring seeing the MW, obstetrician and diabetes nurse every week. Bad news is I'm now on insulin. Good news is baby is head down. Because of the insulin I'll now be induced by 11th October if s/he hasn't arrived already. The doc spooked me by saying "Mrs Yellowwellies I'm not going to see you in labour for another month, go away and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy" which is exactly what the obstetrician on Orkney said 2 days before I went into labour with J! Shock I informed him my last obstetrician had said that only to meet me again two days later and he sheepishly said - "try to keep baby in for the next two weeks at least then!" Week I'm 32+4 and its feeling very real!

PetiteRaleuse · 03/09/2014 13:01

How many weeks were you when J popped out yw ? I know I should know but have forgotten Blush. Was it 34? Good news that the baby has turned anyway.

ValiumQueen · 03/09/2014 13:09

Deffo a bug as I have a fever too. Bugger. I really do not want to be off work, or indeed incapable at home. Too much to do.

Never heard of Moloscum until DD1's best friend got it. Her little sister also has it, but thankfully none of mine have caught it yet despite frequent close contact. It looks very sore.

YellowWellies · 03/09/2014 13:12

PR I was 35+6. So yes we really need to build baby's chest of drawers and dig out the hand me down clothes!

PetiteRaleuse · 03/09/2014 13:16

They use a lot of packet mixes and tins on that slow cooker group don't they?! And lots of things that would be easier/massively quicker to do on the hob or in the oven.

Hmm. Just realised I have a rat living in the woodpile. I suppose that is why the cat has been needing food put down so often. The bloody rat has been eating it. Not sure I like the idea of putting rat poison down near where the cat's food goes.

Hmm. What to do? I don't mind rats or mice outside but the bloody cat won't come in for food atm. I could put the food higher up but rats can climb.

Zamboni · 03/09/2014 13:22

GrinGrinGrinWineWineWine lush and hot here. S and DD and DH all having a little nap after our 3am start. Is it wrong that I sort of enjoyed the sleepy and confuddled look on S's face when he was awoken too soon? One small act in response to 22 months of very early mornings! He was fab on the flight - and on landing he laughed and asked to do that again!

Sorry to hear of illnesses and nap bedtime issues. Hope Kyz and Det are ok. YW - hope DC2 stays put a little while longer!

Wandathewindfairy · 03/09/2014 13:24

Lol pr I have thunk exactly the same!

What I have tended to do is take the broad idea and tweak it to make my own, no packet mixes etc and tended to only do it if I know I am busy in the afternoon and so don't want any afternoon prep time. So I did the Spanish chicken but did it differently and put rice in. Yum. The beef madras I did the hairy dieters version but used the slow cooker times and tips from the Madra on the board iyswim.

ValiumQueen · 03/09/2014 15:32

Second Estate Agent of the day. I wanted to kill the first one.

ValiumQueen · 03/09/2014 16:22

She was quite good. Time for a nap before number 3.

Zamboni · 03/09/2014 16:24

How much pressure are you under to find somewhere immediately VQ? Is there a temporary accommodation option?

ValiumQueen · 03/09/2014 16:41

I have a couple of irons in the fire, but will feel better once we know where we are going to live. We will rent for 6 months. There is accommodation for single folk, but I do not have it in me to leave my babies behind.

I feel awful

PetiteRaleuse · 03/09/2014 18:03

I decided to try cooking frozen peas in the microwave. Normally I steam them but cba tonight. Looks like the plastic microwave proof dish I covered the bowl with has melted and created a vaccuum of some kind. Rushed it outside and am waiting for it to explode.

PetiteRaleuse · 03/09/2014 18:07

I suppose rats eat peas. Hmm

BigPigLittlePig · 03/09/2014 19:58

Sorry PR but that made me chuckle!

Off to revise. Poor dh has already had his retinas checked out this evening with a bit of borrowed kit from work Grin

Passmethecrisps · 03/09/2014 20:10

Poor you vq! How are you feeling now?

I would love to have bits of kit to check out DH's retinas! How much fun?! I am bad enough with the in ear thermometer.

Oh, I never commented on the news about mini-wellies the 2nd being head down! Great news. Fingers crossed he/she is a little less keen to meet the world than the bear.

Bedtime tonight was much more pleasant thankfully. I skipped bath but she was also considerably less hysterical having had a three hour nap at CM. She was sleepy but relaxed unlike last night. We had four recitals of "we're going on a bear hunt" foowed by a Squash and a Squeeze followed by Snug twice. Then Bear Hunt again. Then she requested a song about "moo cows". This song went as follows "moo cows moo cows mooey mooey moo cows. Moo cows moo cows, p loves moo cows!"

She is still awake but singing herself to sleep and I had lunch made, coffee machine programmed and kitchen sorted in time for bake off with wine in my hand.

Hoorah!

Passmethecrisps · 03/09/2014 20:12

I am sure the retina looker atter is less exciting when it is for revision - good luck bp!

Elizadoesdolittle · 03/09/2014 20:18

That's great news yw but hope he/she stays put for a good while yet.

vq hope you feel better tomorrow

I've just booked a fab local Indian restaurant for me and DH on saturday night. It's to celebrate our 6 yr anniversary. Been ages since me and DH have been out just the 2 of us. One topic of discussion will be baby names. I have a feeling we will struggle to agree for this one.

Pikz · 03/09/2014 20:35
