Fire lit.

Toddler extricated from fridge.

Paddling pool on floor by sink after water play mopped up

Just awaiting, husband with food and wine and a poo as said toddler has not had one today.

Then, feet up. 1year I. The house today!

Wandathewindfairy · 27/08/2014 18:19

Ooo and Horizon tonight is about allergies etc. Might be worth a watch.

Lily311 · 27/08/2014 18:54

Helloooo...

All good here. Feeling rather tired. Going to look after my sister's kids tomorrow. Not looking forward to it but hey ho.

ValiumQueen · 27/08/2014 19:27

Hello fuckers! GrinGrinGrin We just ignore J's tantrums. It becomes easier with subsequent children.

One DH free to any home. Comes with car and clean underpants.

Lily311 · 27/08/2014 20:01

Again? I offered to have him last time so I think I pass this opportunity to the other single mums on the thread this time ;).

Passmethecrisps · 27/08/2014 20:23

Maybe we could share him around? A few days here and there?

Always best to keep toddlers out the fridge wanda.

Strangely, dealing with teenagers has taught me a lot about toddlers - they are very similar except bigger and sadder because random strangers scowl at them for existing rather than coochie coo even when a bit naughty.

BigPigLittlePig · 27/08/2014 21:33

Ha love the teenager comment Pass.

VQ other than clean pants, does he have any other good points? Able to gloss? Do a trip run? Masquerade as a nearly-30-yr-old lady who has an exam in 6 weeks and can't be bothered to revise?

Back to work tomorrow, has been a lovely few weeks off (bar the odd night here and there).

Still, it's nearly the weekend Grin

PetiteRaleuse · 27/08/2014 22:07

Another exam piggy ? How long til they stop?

BigPigLittlePig · 27/08/2014 22:37

This is the last (scariest, most expensive) for years - then I shall have some extra letters after my name and a wee graduation to attend Smile BUT IT IS A SCARY BISCUITS PRACTICAL ONE.

Ahem.

ValiumQueen · 28/08/2014 05:36

I have every faith in you BP Brew

Lily, last time you only wanted the electrical goods IIRC Wink

Yes BP. He does have other qualities. Let me think .........

Lily311 · 28/08/2014 05:38

You will ace it pig.

Off to look after my sister' s kids today, should be fun. 5 under the age of 9 including mine :).

I have a dilemma. My sister's laptop broke, she needs it for work as she is the head teacher of the local school. She can't afford one, she currently uses her boyfriend's which is 7 years old and mega sloe. She gave me all the clothes for O until the age of 6 and also tons of toys. I'm thinking about buying her a laptop but not sure if I should. I don't want to hurt her feelings either but at the same time I really want to help. It would be a cheapish one, worth around £200. What would you do? I can't ask her as she would say no.

PetiteRaleuse · 28/08/2014 07:21

If you can afford it then buy it if you want to lily

Expensive pig ? You pay for your training? Anyway, you will rock that exam.

BigPigLittlePig · 28/08/2014 07:34

Urgh, up at 5 Envy

Yes I have to pay for all my post-graduate training. It is slowly bankrupting me, particularly whilst dh isn't working. Still, not long til he starts, and Fs nursery hours reduce.

Lily I would, if you can afford it. I think it is a lovely idea.

YellowWellies · 28/08/2014 08:50

Lily I would.

BP it sounds very tough but will all be worth it. Good luck!

I need to get a photo of Jonas giving me a bump cuddle before I have the baby. It is the cutest thing ever. In a morning when we get him up for nursery he has a good old cuddle of the bump, snuggling into me for 5-10 minutes whilst I have my cuppa. So cute!

Zamboni · 28/08/2014 09:03

Hello quiche. I've been reading bits. Hope everyone is well. Work is properly mental at the moment. What happened to August being the quiet, holiday month? My boss is also away so I'm busy and doing 2 workloads. I'm managing ok though. I am still pretty stressed but this is very much reduced from the boiling point I was at a few weeks ago by the fact that DH is really pulling his finger out at home and DPs took the DC for a couple of days this week so I have time to plough through the work. DC come home today, I can't wait to see them. Only 4 working days until 10 days off, and we are going on a family holiday. Have given lots of thought to how to reduce the juggling/stress once we are back into normal routine. Not cracked it by a long shot and I imagine there will always be a certain level of it in my life, but hopefully I'm going to be better at recognising an impending outburst and asking for the help which I am lucky enough to have.

Lily that is a very kind thought from a very kind person. In your position I would if I could afford it.

Lily311 · 28/08/2014 11:55

Thanks, I think i will do it, just hoping she won't feel bad.

Yes yw we need to see a pic of your bump! Actually all of you pregnant ladies!

BigPigLittlePig · 28/08/2014 18:32

My biggest regret is of not getting a single pic of me pregnant with F. I didn't have a bump at all till 22 weeks, and even at 35 weeks it wasn't massive. We have just one, when I was in hospital after my waters had gone.

Hiya zamboni, glad things are ok and lovely to hear from you. Enjoy your (well deserved) hols.

Just about to settle down to a curry, nom.

F is refusing to take off her new coat (ebay bargain, as ever). She is mega excited by it Smile so am I at 99p

Wandathewindfairy · 28/08/2014 21:12

Ever get 99p bargains how do you do it?

Elizadoesdolittle · 28/08/2014 22:35

What car vq? I am in the market for a new one. car that is, not DH but if he comes with a free car I'm sure DH won't be adverse to putting him up.

Back from a couple of days away with my sis an her mil. Was lovely but I am glad to be home without the prospect of going away again. I can't complain as has been lovely having all these breaks but I am so looking forward to my own bed.

Have an afternoon just me and DD1 tomorrow. Off to see the tiger that came to tea at the theatre and then in the evening I'm off to see Bring up the Bodies. 2 theatre trips in one day!

Elizadoesdolittle · 28/08/2014 22:39

Been really bad with bump pics. With DD1 I made an effort to take regular pictures, with E I think there is a few knocking about (although I can't think of any off hand). With this one there is one of me at the wedding we went to last week. Must take another. Everyone says I'm smaller this time round.

BigPigLittlePig · 29/08/2014 08:04

I think luck more than anything, Wanda. Lots of my work dresses were similar bargains (all were under £5) and are fat face, white stuff etc.

Hi ho hi ho it's off to work we go Sad

Wandathewindfairy · 29/08/2014 08:11

You at good bp

Went to see tiger who came to tea with the girls a few years ago. Brilliant day out.

YellowWellies · 29/08/2014 09:57

Wanda I find avoiding bidding on eBay stuff which finishes on a Sunday evening (after 7pm) and avoiding evening auction finishes full stop means you get things cheaper - as there's less people online and less of a bunfight.

Lily311 · 29/08/2014 12:22

Sometimes you need to let things go and just sit with your sleeping toddler. She really got upset about nap time and fall asleep on my lap. I'm going to enjoy the moment I think, the tidying can wait.

misslaughalot · 29/08/2014 13:12

Absolutely Lily the tidying can wait. Did you make a decision about purchasing the laptop? I thought it was a lovely idea if you could afford it.

Is it wrong that the first thing I'm making in my slow cooker is chocolate marshmallow brownies?
