Poundland Lily or Poundstretchers? I got mine in Poundland a long time ago.

ValiumQueen · 13/08/2014 17:25

Breakfast muffins Wanda? Reading backwards. Not caught up fully.

ValiumQueen · 13/08/2014 17:32

I also very sad about Robin Williams. One thing he said in Good Will Hunting will always stay with me - 'it is not your fault' 5 small words not aimed at me, but changed my life. RIP Robin.

Wandathewindfairy · 13/08/2014 17:33

alternative healthy breakfasts thread is here.

I need to go through it again as there were some good ideas hanging around in there.

Wandathewindfairy · 13/08/2014 17:36

I did omlette sandwiches for the girls for the early morning run to the airport last week. They loved them.

Passmethecrisps · 13/08/2014 20:24

Good evening wimmins!

I will be checking out that thread about breakfast - we have been a bit reliant on cereal of late. Particularly aldi Cheerios which end up everywhere. P is not really a breakfast girl and tends to sneak toast off her CM's daughter during term time anyway but I would like to at least try something else. Eggy bread goes down a total storm so that might be worth trying more often.

I got some thick socks from sainsbury's recently actually. They were in the sale so I got 2 pairs for £2.50. I also picked up a birthday pressie for p and her cousin - some wooden farm characters which you lace onto a string. I find it very weird that I am thinking about 2nd birthdays already! Makes sense to buy things now and stick them away though.

Poor DH's gout has come back. Probably the worst attack he has had. He is a bit cross as he had been going to our preferred doc (the one who was always so good with P) and he was quite insistent it wasn't gout so it hasn't been treated as such. Different doc now says it most definitely. I am not sure if the treatment would have been terribly different anyway but I feel very sorry for him - it is obviously very painful indeed.

What are omlette sandwiches? Omlette between bread or a filling between slices of omlette?

Wandathewindfairy · 13/08/2014 20:32

Poor old mr crisp that sounds horrible.

I do one egg omelettes and make them quite small and flat like a pancake and then put them in a roll or between bread. Less messy than a regular egg sarny, particularly if you do it with bacon or sausage.

Sad glossing. DH not as impressed as I thought after a whole days hard work and only 10 mins for lunch. Feeling very Bridget Jones about it.

Passmethecrisps · 13/08/2014 21:06

Glossing is HARD! I would be very Bridget Jones indeed! I think you should have 2500 calories, 26 units of alcohol and 12 cigarettes

StuntNun · 13/08/2014 21:28

J's rash is disappearing so it looks like we have escaped chicken pox yet again fingers crossed.

I have coconut milk yoghurt in the yoghurt maker for J. I hope it works as he loves yoghurt. I wonder if I can blend it with strawberries and some sugar.

BigPigLittlePig · 13/08/2014 21:40

Disastrous night, and she's only just flaked out 5 mins ago after much sobbing. We are having a sleepover on her floor, for old times sake Hmm

Glad J is pox free. I do wonder whether F had the pox back along then, if there us a proportion of people who stay spot free. I suppose time will tell.

Passmethecrisps · 13/08/2014 21:52

Yes bp! I remember reading a thread on MN ages ago where the mum was asking for advice about her poorly toddler. It was all very dramatic and he ended up being blue lighted to hospital but noone had any idea why he was so lethargic. After some investigation the docs found an inverted blister - just the one and inside out. But he had the virus really badly. He was fine after 24 hours though but it was very scary to read as a live thread.

Wandathewindfairy · 13/08/2014 21:54

Oh rubbish bp do you have a mattress?

Sounds yum stunt sure it will be ace.

Just watched the first episode of In The Club. Depressing viewing.

ValiumQueen · 13/08/2014 21:56

Oh BP I am sorry.

I am busy selling everything that isn't nailed down. It is going into a winter clothing fund Grin It is great fun. I am even selling my washable nappies.

J doesn't like breakfast much. We have had a family breakfast for the last two mornings as we have had to wake him up! This never happens! Usually it is just me and him. At stupid o'clock. He loves an egg in the morning though. Come winter we will all be having porridge made with Koko. We have all swapped to Koko and Dairy and soya free spread and bread. We are working on cutting out cheese too.

ValiumQueen · 13/08/2014 21:58

How on earth does a blister invert? This will keep me awake tonight.

ValiumQueen · 13/08/2014 21:59

BP any idea why she is like this? Not kept up properly, sorry x

BigPigLittlePig · 13/08/2014 22:03

Dunno vq. She has all her teeth, so not that. She's vomited twice this week, and had dodgy nappies, but eaten well and no temps. Major clinginess though with night wakings and hysterical sobs. Have stopped fighting it though and will go with the flow.

Am enjoying selling stuff here too, although perhaps not so enthusiastically as you are!

Also pondering on inverted blister. Although suspect it will be a more tangible thing 2 stone rampaging toddler that keeps me awake in the small hours...

Passmethecrisps · 13/08/2014 22:12

No frickin idea but it was on a MN thread so is obviously gospel!!

P has been tough to settle some times and her jammies stink so I am betting big teeth. Maybe f is the same

Today p and I went into town for some window shopping. She was not interested in shopping for dresses for me (nope. No like. Out out out!! No liiiiiiiike. Muuuuuuuuumy down!!!) but she was terribly keen on Lush. She strutted in and insisted on having the bath bombs and soaps of her choice presented to her nose. Not all of them, just the ones she pointed at. She would then take a deep sniff and give an assessment - big smile = much yum smell. Closed mouth smile = this is acceptable. Push bath bomb away and stick tongue out = what the fuck is this smelly horror??!??!. Cheese?? = mummy quickly removed product from face and insists not cheese.

Elizadoesdolittle · 13/08/2014 22:51

E will only eat cheerios for breakfast. Drives DH made as they get EVERYWHERE! I wish I could join the alternative breakfast thread.

wanda I have in the club stored up to watch. Don't want to watch something depressing though! Apart from that is it any good?

I've currently been watching She's having a baby which is on Sky Living. It looks at 2 mums to be and they share their pregnancy experiences. Some of the baby showers that have been thrown on it are unbelievable!

bplp Hope you and F get some rest tonight.

ValiumQueen · 13/08/2014 23:46

BP have you double checked her meds and foods? Has something been introduced recently? Do her meds need upping? Are you sure your DH isn't giving her antidepressants by mistake? Wink I do hope your night is manageable.
I am excited. I cannot sleep.

PetiteRaleuse · 13/08/2014 23:50

I enrolled in my course today.

And my toddlers are playing let's keep mummy awake tag. It is, apparently, a v rewarding game. I bet they are keeping score. A shrug, 1 point, a grimace 3, a sharp whisper 5, a raised voice 7, a swear word 10, a full on rant 15, 20 if it's shouty and sweary.

ValiumQueen · 13/08/2014 23:56

What is the score so far PR?

PetiteRaleuse · 14/08/2014 00:45

I'm guessing we're at approx 824.

LuisCarol · 14/08/2014 01:09

A weary sweary teary fistbump for pr

Pikz · 14/08/2014 06:53
